  1. Nah Cole doesnt nor does Glen Johnson. West ham only seem to boo those who make comments about them i.e. Lampard and Paul Ince. I cant cut and paste the article, it wont let me cut his comments as they are from his autobiography and must have some sort of copyright rule.
  2. Yes, i agree it will be down to more of a hole team effort, however a few will shine individually. This will be different from us having only 4 or 5 players turning up for us in recent seasons.
  3. I tent to agree with that but if we dont win the league then it will depend on who does win the league and how they have played. IMO Celtic were poor last season and I think they have went downhill even more this year. They ran away with it from us last season because the diaster period we had in october last year.
  4. He is having a go at the West Ham support again. http://msnsport.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=407706&CPID=8&clid=8&lid=2&title=LAMPARD+HITS+OUT+AT+HAMMERS I dont believe for 1 minute that there was West Ham fans cheering when he broke his leg. Surely the were clapping him off the park like most players on strechers get. I also find it hard to believe some West Ham fans didnt think he was good enough, he was a great talent. But he isnt the first player to be booed by his own support and he wont be the last. Ask Craig Moore! ive heard him being booed at Ibrox when W Smith played him in midfield, then in the underground que after the game Bears were arguing amongst themselves about him.
  5. Yeah, he is the perfect long term replacement for Naysmith.
  6. For success we are going to need 11 hero's on the park most weeks. In recent seasons we have relyied on certain players performing for us. We have had De Boer, Ferguson, Ricksen and Prso all carrying us in occassions in recent seasons. To an extent this was Mcleish's way, however I dont expect Le Guen to work this way. Thomas Buffel has a lot of talent and looks class but he never reached his peak under McLeish as he suffered most (apart from us) from the system, but I can see him being our outstanding player this year. We will need a good partnership struck up between J Rod and Svensson. Prso will give 110% as usual but one does slightly wonder if he will play in every game, but he is an important player. I will be interested to see Ferguson when he comes back. I think mentally he is going to realish the new system and challange, so depending on his fitness we cold see our captain back to his best. Sionko looks a steal of a signing so he could be another hero in the making. Its up to the players to do the business now - Who is going to grab the opportunity and go on to be a Fans hero!!?
  7. IMO we have a few things which need to be taken place both off and on he park. Off the park, id like to see the Non-Rangers chants stopped / new and old Rangers songs (re)introduced, the Club to get behind the fans more with certain issues and for them to take a stand against the media this season. On the park its first and foremost to get back to basics and playing football. I expect that will happen under the PLG era. He has brought in some good players and has set up a nice looking blend and I am in favour of the system. Firstly I want the SPL title back where it belongs, this would be my first priority. Any cup competition is always a boost and a lottery when we enter. The standard of the UEFA cup is not what it once was but there is some good sides in it, however I do not fear anyone in it and we are capable of beating anyone at Ibrox. Id like a Euro run this year. The Scottish cup has eluded us for a few seasons so Id like us to reach Hampden again. The odds are highly stacked against 4 trophies out of 4 and is too much to expect especially when we are entering a new era. So id like progress on the park with a settled team and system doing well and resulting in the SPL title and at least 2 good cup runs.
  8. Its very early in the season still and threads will come over the course. To be fair i think many of us are still unaware of some issues like new signings, systems etc and we'll need a few weeks to take them on view. I know I used to create quite a few Rangers threads when I stayed in UK but now Im relying on websites and others views in here for info. I manage to watch the TV games on Setanta but I get no pre-match build up so dont hear interviews etc. The Motherwell game got a good write up, and we're all looking forward to Utd game this weekend.
  9. Ive got a few. I can see the posters point about the Tannadice thing and it was an occassion where you probably had to be there, but I was definatly most proud when we won 9IAR. I was beaming for days, i remember going into school the following morning for my higher exams and just couldnt sit in the hall at piece The latter parts of that era where proud, 8IAR when Gazza got the hattrick was another moment. The euro run of 92/93 is up there as is Helicopter Sunday.
  10. To difficult to choose, Im sitting on the fence with this one and cant decide. Imagine how good both would be!! BTW I dont think winning the UEFA cup this season is beyond us and the thought of that is getting me excited!
  11. Full credit to Le Guen, in the short time he has been in charge he has totally transformed our look which nobody understood last season. We have been struggling to put out a midfield for a few seasons and now it looks really strong. Im a fan of the 4-2-3-1 but it will mean a few getting overlooked and finding themselves on the bench to start with (Burke, Hemdani, Sebo)
  12. I think he must be getting on anyway, isnt he about 33? Its a pity coz he has been a good pick for RB over the last few years.
  13. haha they have been shocking recently. They surely are on crack to head out to Japan to play this match during the first week of the season before a trip to Tynecastle. Im lookin forward to there game on Sunday, I think Hearts could stuff them!
  14. Is that an official squad or just one made up by you Chris? I though McNamara retired from int football. But agree its not a bad looking list at all.
  15. Breazed past whoever they were playing now they have AEK Athens - a side we know all about. They arent the same team they were then so Hearts have a chance. I genuinely hope Hearts beat them and make the Champions League. This Bear will be routing on the Jambos for Scottish Football!!
  16. "Sebo! Theres only one Sebo........." Welcome to Ibrox Sebo!! This guy could be awesome and the new Negri BTW!!! (despite the moodyness)
  17. Your not a fan of our new man are you? I was never a fan of Wattereus, he pulled of some good saves but also cost us points i.e a simple goal from Livingston away that he called offside! Plus he never gave me or the defence confidence IMO. Klos Loyal
  18. I honestly dont know where this forum would be without Calscot. I couldnt agree more. I had a debate about a year ago in a thread about a foreigner visiting to ibrox wearing "ANY" football top to a game and a senior poster came out state away with "Gribz is a Tim poster" - ive never had time for that person since (its not who u think it is BTW) simply because IMO it proved that that person is narrow minded - are anyone who doesnt agree with other rangers fans automatically Tims now? proving that some Glasgow mentallity states there are only 2 choices in Scotland - rangers or celtic! Personally i never clicked on the link to hear the Tim rant but from Calscots view i agree straight away that Celtic are a bigger club than Portsmouth by a country mile. I certainly dont like Celtic but did anyone else not feel a sense of Scottish pride when they went down to Liverpool and Blackburn and played 2 premiership giants off the park.? If anything it said - " Rangers and Celtic could stand there own in England - ending the debate and be-littleing we get down there"
  19. BTW Every Other Saturday should be blared when the teams come out - absolute classic song and i think its one everyone likes and its catchy.
  20. Most definalty! ive said this in the past. The Broomloan has always been more noisey because there are groups of familys and mates who are all going along together.
  21. It is a good move that the club are going to play the likes of Wolverhampton town. One thing they need to do is make the versions they play "catchy" so the crowd can join in. A few versions of songs in the past have all been at different speeds etc so its hard to the crown to all join in. What we should really do is record the fans singing Rangers songs with proper rangers words and belt that out over the tannoy - the atmosphere would be great even if nobody joined in
  22. I think its something G14 have spoke about before, getting away from UEFA and setting up a European league. I only think the fat cats at the top have mentioned it but ive definatly read it before.
  23. It a tough one about wage capping or transfer fee's, at the end of the day if a club wants to spend that, its there money and they can. It would certainly control things a lot better but then i could imagine a bit of greed at the top if it happened. The big boys would try and break away from the rest and form there own league. Something has to be done to get it in a bit of order.
  24. Its certainly not Chelsea's fault. They are partly responsible for the influctuated prices as they do overspend so they get their man, but Man Utd are a bit of the same. 29.1 Milllion for Rio Ferdinand 28.1 Million for Veron 27 million for Rooney 19 Million for Van Nistelrooy 18.6 Million for Carrick Out of that lot Van Nistelrooy seems like he was the only one about right as he was a goal machine especially in his first 3 seasons. Rooney MAY go onto being value for money, he certainly has the potential to be 1 of the best. I was a huge fan of Veron but still think they well overpaid for him by at least 8million.
  25. Gribz

    Letizi

Never thought about that, but TBH i think the end for Der Goalie was a while ago. Klos is loved at Ibrox and id still like to see him play again for us if required. Time will tell i guess.
