Definatly a good signing, he was a top top striker and i didint give a monkeys what religion he was/is. Zidane won it!! Not the best decision but he was in the top 3 or 4. Cannavaro had a better WC, hands down.

I think it comes down to the fact there are far far far more armchair fans, who are actually paying, so TV companines are rolling in it despite it not costing the average armchair fan much. I think almost everyone is an armchair fan in a way. You go to Ibrox on a saturday and might watch the EPL on a sunday afternoon, same as a Chesterfield season ticket holder goes on a saturday and watches sky on a sunday! Most pay Sky Tv 40 a month for the EPL coverage and Sky are raking in the cash as it is. TV companies would lose out if they bumped up the prices as people wouldnt be bothered about not missing out on a game between West Brom v Bolton unless they supported that teams. I think the only way round it would be to only have the right to your clubs matches on your own tv (i.e. each club to own the rights to there own games) then pay the same amount as those going to games, however thats purely impossible as Tv compaines loose out on money, clubs loose out and football fans in general dont get to watch games. I certainly think match admission fees put people off aswell. For instance who would pay 22 quid to go to pittodrie and watch Aberdeen v Livingston on a wet saturday afternoon? Now drop that to a tener and give deals to schools and the attendance would rise and income might even be on par.

First of all after reading Dannys theory, i doubt it, but coming to think of it during the game i thought to myself that Zidane's eyes were bulging out his head!! Secondly, does anyone not take my bets?? I said a draw, Italy to win on pens, AND ZIDANE TO GET SENT OFF!! As for Zidane he might of been on drugs attempting that penalty so early in a WC final What cheek to attempt it and he was lucky it came of. Then IMO he goes and costs his country the WC buy producing the most blatent head butt ive ever seen! He absolutely threw himself at him, if that was in the face Materazzi would of had a broken nose! As for the game, it was a cracking game. Not as good as Germany v Italy but not far off it. My heart said Italy and i wanted them to win just but after Zidane got sent off i was fully backing the Italians. Zidane lost my respect anyway. As for the pens, we it was 10 unsavable pens but Trezeguet hit the bar just as Zidane did earlier, except Zidanes bounced in, Trezeguets bounced out! Italys pens impressed me coz they are normally poor at them but they banged all 5 in and are deseveredly world champions!!

Id be lucky if i got 20 in total due to the time difference. I watched all the early K/os from the group stages and 2nd round plus a few extra games. Only manged 3 of the 1/4s and 1 semi final and the final. I still saw plenty highlights though.

I thought we might see Ricksen back to the form of 2 years ago with the arrival of Le Guen. What an idiot for ruining his chances. He obviously went on the bevvy when told not to. Boot him out ASAP, IMO he is dead wood.
