Im actually looking forward to seeing what happens now that Klos is back in training. Who will be Number 1? Who will be Number 2? Whon wont be on the bench? Its a great problem to have. I also wouldnt mind knowing Le Guens views on Klos as he hasnt commented on him yet. He must rate him (who doesnt!) as he would of probably got rid of him in the summer if he didnt see him as part of the plans. But IMO if Klos is 100% Id have in in between the stick hands down! But i realise he has barely caught a ball for almost 2 years and is 35 now so he may have lost a bit of his quality but I hope not.

Talking about that goal has anyone got a clip?

Despite being overseas, Ive been lucky enough to watch most of our games so far this season. Ive saw us on TV against Motherwell, Dundee Utd, Dunfermline, Hearts and Celtic, and managed to make visits to Ibrox for the games against Molde and Aberdeen. During the opening games I was impressed with our attacking play and liked the formation of 4-2-3-1 that Le Guen brought. I felt it just need a bit more time and a bit of luck but it was early in the season and players were still a bit rusty. The chances we created in the match against Dundee Utd alone were enought to hit double figures and despite the result it was a great game to watch at Ibrox again. Recently Le Guen has tinkered with the formation a bit and put out 2 wingers which is clicking on occassions. But it showed when we deployed this at Celtic away we couldnt get in the game bar a 15 min spell in the 2nd half. So it was a bit of going back to the drawing board for Le Guen. Its now Mid October (and this time last year we where having our worst run ever) and we really should be a settled side by now, however we dont know who our number 1 keeper will be when all 3 are fit, we dont know who are our better centre half partnership, we dont know who is going to play wide and we dont know who will play upfront. I still have full confidence Le Guen will get it right and that he is the man for the job but we need to see some consistancy soon with a heavy log of games domestically and in europe coming up.

Is Ashikodi not the player McLeish put on twice for the last 3 seconds of games last season? I hope to see him get a run out in the first team soon.

Its been enough that Gerrard "carrys" the Liverpool side. Maybe he also carrys the England side. Without his name in the line up England just didnt look dangerous at all. IMO Lampard is a good player but he shines that bit more at Chelsea coz he has Makelele, Essien, Robben etc around him (a bit like Ferguson when he had Albertz, Gio etc), but when Lampard is in a midfield that is only "good" like last night he struggles to make an impact. Gerrard is truly world class player. His work rate is up there with the best and he guarentees 15-20 goals a season from midfield along with the same amount of shots that hit the woodwork. He will also provide the same amount of assists. He has everything from pace, skill, power, hunger and energy and he can play anywhere across the midfield. England seriously missed him last night.

Germany was the only away out of that 4 who won.

I didnt fancy Ukraine in the group when I saw them, they could be the trickest team to play at Hampden also. Italy have taken 6pts this week so the group is wide open but at least we are up there, that is the main thing. We are going to HAVE to do the double over Georgia and then beat Faroes away, Italy and Ukraine at home, and i think that would be enough to afford defeats in France and Italy.

I think we will climb a bit higher with the France win and England will surely drop after a draw and a defeat. Well done NI BTW thats a huge rise. They must be kicking themselves for the home result to Iceland as if they had nicked that they would be 2nd.

Yeah, Henry had a touch or sour grapes on saturday. But it doesnt matter as its not a 2 legged tie with us and them. As i mentioned on the other thread a lot of people would have taken 2 draws with these games against France and Ukraine also giving us 2 points but we have 3 already. A win in Ukraine and Walter deserves a knighthood as 12 pts out of 12 would have been unthinkable. But id easy settle for a draw tonight.

It would help if Rep Ireland were away mate! England may sneak a 1-0 but i fancy a 0-0 draw.

Where was the GersNet flags at the Molde and Aberdeen games?? I was at both games and couldnt see either of them.

I had a nice treble come up that weekend Arsenal to win at Charlton Chelsea - Villa Draw Sheff Utd to beat Middlesboro and Sheff nicked it in the 92nd min in the 5pm K/off - Great bounce for me, got 170 quid back off a tener.

I assumed it was Mental aswell As for the game, I fancied a point but to take all 3 is just superb and I was very proud when I woke on Sunday and saw the headline "Scotland record famous Victory over France". Walter has transformed our national team and I fancy us to finish in the top 2 in the group. We need to take something from Ukraine as I cant see us winning in France or Italy. I was listening to Radio Scotland on the internet for the built up for a few hours before the game then the commentary went because it was only broadcast to UK And on the TV I had live England v Macedonia (i predicted a draw here) and Czech v San Marino FFS!! We were the only team out of the home nations including Ireland to win at the weekend which made it quite sweet.

I dont think OConnor will be missed but I hope it doesnt upset anything in the team. Before the France game I said if we got 2 pts out of these games Id take it, we have already bettered that so if we get anything from this game its a huge bonus. The only down side to a defeat is it can take the team back down to ground a bit but even if we do lose 1 win and 1 defeat is better than 2 draws that Id of taken. I think this will be a really tricky tie but hope we can sneak a 0-0. Shevchenko is fit BTW.

I liked Sionko a lot after the first couple of games, but he hasnt continued that impressive performances for me, not that I want him injured, but maybe it is a chance for Nacho to get a crack at the whip again.

Agreed but Hemdani doesnt merit being dropped at the moment IMO, he has probably been our most consistent player this season. I said earlier in the season I could see all 3 in the team if Ferguson started going further up the park more.

Jury is out on J Rod this season but he did ok last year. I was impressed with Papac against Aberdeen and I think Svensson will come good. I wouldnt mind seeing all 3 playing together in a 3-5-2 with Hemdani sitting in front of them.

Very well deserved. Ive seen him 3 times recently against Celtic, Molde and Aberdeen and I thought he did enough to warrent a Scotland call up, certainly in place of whoever the 3rd keeper is in the squad.

Bad news this especially as Sionko and Burke are out. Id perhaps look at Novo on the right. Id also leave Adam on the bench at the moment as if he gets injured we're buggered on the wings. BTW speaking of Martin, I was sitting right close to the pitch last week at the Molde and Aberdeen games and it isnt until you see players like close up you realise how young they are, Martin looks a toddler.

Vignal was average overall but gave 100% and could of strolled the SPL had he not been greedy. Vidmar was slightly underrated and I liked him as Numans cover at LB. He also could play Centre half which was handy. The other "V" Vanoli was another of McLeish's imposters.

This should be part of everyday training anyway, it makes much more sense and improves passing and movement. Its the way all the asians play aswell and really makes the game quicker and fitness shoots up.
