Sensible deal - on loan first to see if he is good enough to buy. Quite interesting signings in January then, Murphy, Cummings and Goss. The first thing Id imagine is they will give 100% and know what the league is like rather than Pena and Herrera.

Well done City manager and board. Stating the finances involved are too high and that they cant offer him a wage higher than the other players at the club. Although I do expect they will get him in the summer if he doesnt leave. Interesting now to see if Man Utd hold their word and bid or will they try drop the offer a bit. But Chelsea have just entered the bid also. Great player but disrupting. Not sure greed is coming into it, seems he has only said he wants to play for City but time will tell. Surprised PSG havent came in for him. He cant surely pull on an Arsenal shirt again though.

Sunderland are depressing. Why did Coleman go there!

Well done Liverpool, absolute great game to watch. Bristol City have worked out how to play City by pressing them and Liverpool did this. But I couldn't believe it when David Silva didn't start and thought that makes City weaker going forward. A lot of keeper errors in the game though. If Liverpool just go and get a real keeper then they can challenge next season. In the other game Arsenal are on such a spiral downwards its unreal. What an average team they had, its the weakest Arsenal XI in a league game ive ever seen. Holding - Came from Bolton and hasn't developed. Chambers - Was out on loan to Boro last season says it all. Xhaka - I think there is a player in there but has not lived up to his transfer. Maitland-Niles - Only played a handful of games and already replaced the impressive Kolansanic, don't get this. Welbeck - been on the injury table for majority of last two years, doesn't look fit. Iwobi - What does Wenger see in him. Has a night out last weekend but plays 3 games in a row. They are now no longer a top 4 club. If they don't win the Europa they are going to be on par with Everton at best next year. And to get back to the top 4 they will need to win the Europa first to attract top players or nobody will sign for them. The only way they would be able to get players is to throw a warchest at a top manager like Anchelotti or Simeone and persuade players to come on a rebuild job. I hope the swap for Sanchez and Mkhitatrian happens but they need to get Lemar, Malcom and Mahrez in to freshing up the attack plus Jonny Evans and Calvalho from Lisbon. Sell Sanchez, Walcott and possibly Ozil if he doesn't resign. Wilshire is a must to stay.
-
Sanchez would be OK at Man Utd for a few months then start to be huffy also. Arsenal should accept but ask for Juan Mata in return not Mkhitaryan.
-
Murtys reign alone we have had some silly results (Hamilton, Dundee, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone). Just 2 wins there and we would actually be in with a shout of winning the league from absolute nowhere.
-
I think he would be first pick at City but he doesnt seem their type of player. Im hoping Arsenal can get him as he would be a solid signing thats needed. They have to splash out and get Lemar along with another. Cazorla doesnt look like he will play again which is a great shame and they have to sign Wilshire up. They should let Sanchez go straight away, bite 25m off City. He has played way to much football over the last few summers and will start to decline. He's turned out to be a bit of a wee rat and thats obviously shared in the dressing room.

Is oddchecker a bookie? I thought they just assembled various odds. Not sure what to make of it though. One punter can lump a heep on in hope and if affects all odds.
-
Need to borrow few of Rouseau's images for Craig here.
-
Herrera can join him. Obviously both were signed by PC and only came for him and not the club. The Portuguese players are a bit nearer to home and may stay but Dalcio is out doing Maniero for being a waste of space and Alves hasnt exactly been brilliant. Best let players out the club and rebuild.
-
Wasnt made for the Scottish game. There is a decent player in him somewhere but he obviously wont adapt in the same way as Pedro didnt, best let him go.
-
jeezo, how fat is the guy in the green tshirt.
-
How many players down the years have been paid while sitting in the treatment room then move on.
-
Top job for all involved. Thanks for that. And if any donations are needed please PM me, Ive been on here long enough (15 years holt shit) to be welcomed to contribute. I'll have a jar with you.

Agreed and an 18 team league should be in place with 2 or 3 divisions max. Although the 18 team league can wait for now to keep Dundee Utd out of the top tier :-)
-
Miller and Kranjcar at their peak would be, perhaps Alves although hasnt shown it. Morelos is on the right track.
-
Arsenal are on a major decline. They have to go win the Europa or they could become isolated in 7th for years. They could end up with a team like Holding, Chambers, Elneny etc for a long time as they just dont sign anyone. They want Jonny Evans which would be a cracking signing but he will go to Man City as his wife works for MUTV therefore no need to move south.
-
No thanks. Miserable guy. The Wales job is available for him.
-
Interesting signing. Didnt know he was 28.
-
Still only 38, same age as moi, didnt realise that. Hope the wee fella is fine.

There was probably too much Premier League games over the Christmas period. 6 games in about 3 weeks is too much, you cant keep up. I like having games over the period though and not a fan of the break. That said, like Gav Id be up for summer football with the SPL.
-
And barely played in an awful league? In saying that I was unaware Halliday was more of a left sided midfielder yet he has been deployed centrally for Rangers. With John getting up and down the left wing back position Halliday could play as an inside left. We may get a few good games out of him as he is determined to do well.

It didn't even click that Nicholl was No.2 with N Ireland but as soon as I remembered then this was my first thought.
-
Considering it could be for 4 or 5 months (unless the new manager wants to keep JN) then I think its the exact type of No.2 we need. Plenty experience, knows the club, a bit no-nonsense, seems to be good at man management with individuals, and will help Murty improve.

Transfer Window Preview, Part 2: Who Do We Need?
Gribz replied to John_Eric_Bartholomew's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes there has been some good signings over the years but I would say for every one good signing there has been about 3 or 4 disasters like Kyle, Gow, Bollan, Velicka. 1 or 2 of the best of the rest has always worked when they have slipped under the radar like Novo and then Neil McCann was an awesome signing, but if we start making the majority of our team make up of these players we will end up an average SPL team especially with the standard not being what it was 10 years ago. The Murphy signing is of more interest, I think a player can benefit from a spell down south and can have something to prove when they come back north.
