  1. Yeah i thought Pearce would have been a good England manager however he has slumped this season a bit but still think he will come good. As for Roeder, he permanetly looks like he is sucking a lemon
  2. I think everyone had Liverpool down as a good bet Malky, I was so close to backing them but went for Man Utd at the last minute at 5/1. But changing your team 99 times in a row is crazy. Steven Gerrard is the best central midfielder in the EPL so he HAS to play there. The only argument Benitez has is Gerrard is also Liverpools best right sided player and youd rather have Sissoko in the team than Pennant hence play Gerrard out wide. But now that Sissoko is injured he has no excuses. Against Arsenal bringing Zenden into the middle was a joke. However, I think they will break there away duck this weekend at Middlesboro
  3. Yeah agree with that. I think Pearce will get at least another few weeks and i fancy them to pick up points against Fulham on saturday. Pardew will be safe aswell, he'll take all 3 pts from Stamford Bridge on sat also! But Roeder is a banker to go on Monday IMO. Arsenal will stuff them about 4-0. Roeder isnt even a manager IMO, He is zero personality. How he got the Newcastle job in the first place i dont know after what he did with West Ham. Newcastle are a MASSIVE club and should be in the top 5 never mind the bottom 3. I fancy putting some cash on Keegan returning there before Shearer gets his turn.
  4. Thats good news about Dunfermline. These clubs need to remember its the OF who keep them afloat with 2 away games each season. I think Hearts have every right to complain aswell though, if it was on the other foot and the Pars got fined for charging Hearts fans more and not us we'd kick up a mess.
  5. If i was to guess a fee id be thinking 200k tops. I think we want him off our wage bill and Advocaat will strike a deal with us to get him on the cheap. The free up of 25k a week will help though. At the start of this season and last, I thought Buffel would go on to be out most imprtant player. How wrong can i be, he just hasnt produced the goods at all. If we got an offer for him It wouldnt bother me if he went but it would cross my mind that he might go onto do what Shota has done and shine somewhere coz he has the talent. Also at the moment i kind of think were missing a fully fit Peter Lovenkrands.
  6. Id find that hugely surprising and couldnt ever see DM involved with that. He has his faults but he's too pro for that. As for Bain and McIntyre, i dont trust those 2 as far as i could throw them but still cant see it. We've seen on here that Murray still has plenty support.
  7. The real Elvis isnt dead mate!! As for Steven, Yip id take him, he's 33 and cheap and would sort out the defence for the rest of the season. I think it was Webster who was made to look good with Pressley and not the other way round. Do people not watch Scotland games? He hasnt put a foot wrong in international matches.

Well I hope he starts on Sunday and puts in the performances of earlier in the season. Chances against Motherwell and Dundee Utd in the first games came through him.
  9. Im honestly not keen in taken SPL players. The percentage of SPL players who have been a success after moving to the old firm must be pretty low. As i said earlier they would need to step another few levels after joining us. Hibs have a good base of midfield with those 2 and Stewart but why are they 6th in the SPL? I wouldnt disagree with the statement that a small part of our downfall in recent seasons is due to signing SPL players.

Anyone know the staus with him and his injury? I liked the look of him especially in the first few games. With Burke out for a while, Im hoping he comes back onto the right hand side.
  11. I agree with Frankie that McGregor will be picked on Sunday. However IF Letizi was chosen, does anyone think this would be an arrogant statement from Le Guen??
  12. Tend to agree with this and ok I havent really seem much of either of those players, Id be skeptical incase they follow the lines of Riordan and Rae who rarely play when they move to the old firm. Moving to Rangers for them would need to see them step up another 2 levels if we are to match ambitions long term.
  13. Yeah agree with all above. Burke has the ability to go on and be a really good player potentially great. He would need to bulk up a bit and play consistantly for a good season. Certainly looks dangerous on the attack and gets to the by-line which we are lacking.
  14. Ive accepted it Pete. Dont get me wrong Id still like to see a fully fit Klos playing for us and IMO he is still the best but it looks like he is playing out his days on the bench or reserves. He wont play for us again, unless as you say, the other 2 are injured. Shame as he was a truly truly class keeper!
  15. I hear Craig Gordon will be dropped for this match, maybe Le Guen can pick him for us But in seriously, I hope he sticks with McGregor but its guess work if he does or not. Also good comments from Letizi.
  16. I checked the results, there were a few coupon busters anyway bud. Germany drawing with Cyprus - that would have cost me
  17. Havent looked at the KoooPon at all. I dont normally bet on international games coz the odds are normally poor. But you never know i might have a wee look soon and a place a fluuter.
  18. He's only a few years older than Teddy Sheringham who is still starring in the EPL Good way to look at it i suppose!!
  19. Just read a article on the boy Reed, he has quite a good CV as a coach: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/charlton_athletic/6148024.stm
  20. I actually think B Internationals are better than first team friendlies. They are a much better idea to slowly get these type of players up to international speed. The likes of Smith, Boyd, Adam and MAYBE Hutton can get plenty international caps in the future.
  21. Ive read the comments a good few times and cant see where he is having a dig at Barry Ferguson. I think he is stating that the team he played in had the best spirit and the likes of Goram Gough Coisty aswell as Knox and Smith would make sure EVERY player gave there all. As for his Cruyff, Stoichkov comments - are they related to us at all? Im slightly confused there.
  22. I just saw Wija's Signature of "Mike Newell loyal" and realised we havent discussed this topic yet. His comments were plain stupid as in this day in age you cant get away with sexist comments like that. However, it kicks off a debate as to whether woman should be allowed into the game, and not just to officiate. Personally I see the playing side as a mans game and cant see women playing. I Karen Brady has done a fine job as MD at Birmingham city so it shows women can stand there ground if the job is right. It would take a lot of getting use to (seeing women referees) but id like to see Ex players be ref's ahead of anyone else.
  23. Post of the day Calscot, I couldnt agree more. You took a lot of words out my mouth. Also agree if someone cant go a certain time without a smoke then thats a mental problem. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that everyone has human rights - that is spot on. Smokers can smoke in area's given while non smokers dont breathe it in. Maybe the solution would be to make the Club Deck a smoking only section but cover the front with a massive pain of glass so the smoke couldnt escape to other sections of the ground.
  24. Agree with DJ there. When Boyd plays, if he doesnt score then its like having 10 men in the side. If he could add a few extra things to his game like DJ said then we would have a striker and a half in our ranks. I think Coisty needs to have a few 1 on 1's with Boyd.
  25. I dont understand the appointment of Reed at all.
