IMO everything is speculation. I want Le Guen to stay and i hope he turns things round with this decision. If he doesnt (over the next 5 months) then we need to start thinking if he is the right man for the job.
-
Send him to Everton and we get Dave Weir and James Mcfadden plus a million
-
Id take Brown and Anderson as squad players only. Brown might add to the midfield if we get a class midfielder and Anderson would be good back up long term.
-
Quite a good point Pete, and it may also be that all the new signings take a full season to get used to the SPL.
-
I accept your post as its quite good and may prove to be true, however if Le Guen turns the ship and we start winning and playing good then we'll be praising him. As for Nando - he needed booted out!!!
-
I was just about to start a thread calling an SOS out the likes of Laudrup and Gough to possibly come in and sort this crisis out if Le Guen doesnt turn it round. Id still like to see Le Guen in charge this season and turn it round but things on the pitch need fast improving.
-
I think Le Guen meant to say more than I just dont get on with you. If not then its a poor decision but from the other piece off the offical site its clear he isnt happy with fergusons attitude. So Billy Dodds might be taking a wee side here. Also doesnt anyone think this has been coming but Le Guen has purposedly waited until the Jan window is open!!!
-
I think its clear what he says - BF is upsetting the dressing room that PLG is trying to create and isnt acting like proper captain. Its Le Guen opinion but thats what it looks like to me. For the record i agree with Gazza8 earlier in the thread - to slate the manager for this decision so early is wrong. (Add that doesnt mean im slating BF either)
-
I wasnt overjoyed with being linked with those 2 anyway and i do think Fergie is better but only when he plays as an attacking midfielder like he has done on occasion. I really hope our ambitions are to sign better quality than Thompson and Brown. They can come as squad players and regulars but not as are bread and butter midfielders
-
This is a great thread but difficult to keep up with Id just like to say well done to Gavin Rae who has stepped in - fair play to him he doesnt expect to be a hero but will give 110% and just get on with the job - 1 of only a few players who do at Ibrox just now. He is a aberdeen fan tho BTW But i dont like the fact some of the Gers fans are abusing Le Guen - far enough if his decision turns out to be wrong but not at the moment.
-
Your right Frankie and until we find out the reasons behind the decision we play the waiting game. It maybe a case of the manager IS acting in the teams best interests - again we wait and see. I agree its a soap opera but maybe 1 that finally needed to come out. Whats also a soap opera is that Murray has to fly back from his Frenace holiday and Bain back from his ski-ing holiday!! What on earth are they on holiday for right now when the team is struggling so much!!!! Thats tasteless

Upson is a player who crossed my mind but as soon as i read the EPL clubs who want him its a fairytale for us. We still should have got Pressely:)
-
What ever happened to 1 player is not bigger than the club?? BTW well done Gavin Rae for just getting on with the job in hand and even admitting that Gers fans will be baffled by this and against him. This is a chance for him and I hope he takes it with both hands and does his best - thats all we ask. Ps ive moved this into Rangers Chat
-
Welcome aboard Mikey, Firstly we have to wait and see how the team perform without Ferguson and wait for the truth before we judge Le Guens decision. There are Gers fans who are critical with Ferguson (Ive been 1 of them) but i have seen an improvement in his performances in the last 2 months. However the team hasnt turned any corners. They simply picked up a few results that we HAD to get then dropped again against Caley and St Mirren (2 teams who werent near the top division a short few yrs back). This move isnt a shock but it may turn out to be a blessing. It might also turn out to be Le Guens downfall but its all a waiting game now. I really hope the fans get behind Le Guen today.
-
To an extent yes but it depends what type of person smith is. He might be the type who gets his confidence knocked by this. Im all for a driven captain but in the right ways
-
Was actually thinking of this thread earlier and i commented on it on the other thread. Acts like this 1 from Ferguson says he isnt a great captain IMO. This isnt what a promising young LB needs from his captain in public
-
Its a waiting game folks. We can speculate all we want and to see Le Guen leave now wouldnt surprise me a bit. However ihope not. I can honestly see us playing well at Motherwell tomorrow without Ferguson. The others players must know something or possibly had a say in this.
-
Well as i said earlier im glad this has happened as this was obviously causing a stir and why we have been inconsistant. It honestly wouldnt surprise me if we play well without Ferguson. It happened last season and the start of this so im looking forward to see if we do again. Still Prso or Hemdani for captain ahead of Rae
-
Bring back Pardew
-
Nail on head Mike - not given a chance!!
-
Well i think its a good thing that something has happened. Nobody knows whats going on behind the scenes but im backing the manager here as he wouldnt take this drastic action for no reason. Ive been annoyed with fergusons way of shouting at other players - ie smith. Im baffled as to why Prso wasnt given the captaincy short term. Rae said the other day is might move for 1st team football. He doesnt even play. Hemdani would have been another decent choice.
-
Absolute crazy score, its the same team as last season - i just dont know what is going on.
-
I dont get this "Ferrari as a manager but in the garage to rot" comment. Yes he came with that high reputation but i guarentee if Alex Ferguson came to Ibrox just now that team would be winning games. So what im saying his - he may have qualities (PLG) but he isnt getting basics right. I still think its early and he needs a season but so far its more the case of a standard golf manager with a hot hatch bodykit on it!

Fine post (rant) Gisabeer. You are righ about the spending and the need to rid the dead wood. Unfortunatly i cant see neither of these happening. 1) Murray will never give Le Guen 15 million. He will be lucky to get 5 mill and thats off Ricksens transfer and players going out. 2) The dead wood are half of le guens new signings so getting rid of them is difficult.

Has to be stay. But a desire and changes need to be shown straight away. Everyone mentions he is a long term solution, id agree if he has shown us something that suggests there is progress.
