Just as i typed this I got an email from a colleague in UK who supports Celtic and he says that things are looking up for us with WS and we will give them a tough time again!!!

Yeah totally agree Craig. Walter was the master at beating the Tims and keeping us No.1 in Scotland. And i dont necessarily believe it was down to money. He had a squad with the highest belief and spirit. I honeslty think that the SPL teams will be worried about playing Rangers again. For the last 18 months they have taken advantage of a poor poor Rangers team and everyone looked like they enjoyed coming to Ibrox and thought they could get something. Also Celtic's record against us is good especially at Parkhead. I havent been confident of going to Parkhead and getting anything since Advocaat was in charge. Slowly but surely Walter will turn these things round.

One thing that needs to be mentioned is PLG reduced the average age of the side to something like 23 for most games. So 2 experienced players with age on there side will do absolutely no harm at all.

Yeah im glad Clement has moved on and if we did get 1.8 million for him then thats a scoop. Hemdani can easy sit infront of the back 4 (or 3 if it was my choice ) and play passes. We just need a tackler in there now and for Ferguson to be a box to box player again. If Burke had left it wouldnt had bothered me. The fact he was stalling over 13k a week is a joke. Yeah saw that this morning Craig, that Arsenal have picked up 3 or 4 key injuries. But they are also getting players back like Diaby. Baptista and Alliadiare (sp) are coming onto a game up front and Walcott is forgotten about at times. Add this to Henry and Adabyeor (sp) and they are still strong. They need Ljungberg and Gallas fit again. It really is Man Utds title to lose and the fact they still have to go to Stamford Bridge and Anfield means they could have lost it already!!! But i hope not.

Yes i agree if we dont get a decent price for him then he can train with the U14s until his contract runs out. That is the sort of discipline that needs to be installed at the club so no overpaid foreigner comes in and takes the cash only.

Totally agree with this point and said it myself when they were appointed. This is the main reason i think they were the right appointment. We needed Rangers men in charge who will command automatic respect - and nobody else will get that more than Walter Smith and Ally McCoist. Taking Walter Smith back 2-3 years ago would have been an absolute no-no but after his Scotland performances his stock has raised hugely again and he is respected 110% again. They will install stabillity in the right way. They have already curved out 2 wins. If PLG was in charge i wouldnt have fancied us to get anything at Dunfermline.

I think any dressing room split will now be gone with Coisty in there. Any player - Clement - who says they dont want to play for us can go. I think his comments are very unprofessional (he has less desire now PLG has gone). In that case cheerio!!

I think the signings are a master stroke. That gives us 4 centre halfs again or 5 if you include Hemdani. Not only that its a mixture of youth and experience and also a bit of quality now. Ehiogu (nightmare to spell) would have been an England regualr if it was for there speel of good centre halfs. These 2 signings kind of makes up for us not getting Pressley. Long term Svensson and Webster are the partnership but they have got Weir and Ehiogu to get them up to scratch. All we need now is a creative player in midfield who also has a bit of bite. With the 3 centre half signings id love to see us go 3-5-2. Id have rather seen George Graham in with Joe Jordan as his No.2 But Eck will be appointed this week and id take him in over the likes of Jim Jefferies or Calderwood any day. But I really think Tam Burns should have been treated better and still be assistant. The thought of Cheesy Watsit being a national assistant manager with his track record is amatuer. Gary McAllister has been linked to come in as part of the team and i really hope this is true as he will get a respect of the players. There are so many good Scottish managers and ex-players doing good work at the moment like Lambert, Collins, McCoist etc. The likes of Joe Jordan Souness, Moyes, Billy Davies etc are all doing/have done fine jobs and have experience - why on earth a clown like Watson is in there il never know. The likes of Dalglish has to have some envolvment somewhere along the lines. Even if its scouting the UK or running the SFA. France have Platini, Germany have Beckanbauer (sp) but we have a dumpling Taylor in charge who doesnt know a football from a snooker ball. Good luck to Eck though, good appointment for manager but get a good coaching team in with you to continue Walter's good foundation. We lead the group and can probably afford to lose in France and Italy if we win our other games as those 2 still need to play each other and we are capable of beating Italy at hampden.

Liverpool were great against Chelsea and is should have been 4-0. Chelsea's formation was a joke. Man U havent surprised me one bit. Fergie got that hunger back last year when they went a great run in the second half of the season and 11 v 11 they match chelsea no problem. Thats why i backed them at the start. Im kind of glad the title race is still open coz its only january but Man Utd should really be about 10 pts ahead. Its going to be a great finish and i see Arsenal and Liverpool winning a lot of games from now on in.

He is spot on though. America and football just dont go. They are isolated, you need a hole continent playing the game and Canada wont have heard of him either.

Yeah i see what your saying. I feel comfortable with Walter and feel as if it is right that he is back in charge. I grew up with him in place and it has all the good feelings. Id say Le Guen looked most out of place, he just never looked like he had a clue where he was. But Eck was most out of his depth.

Gary McAllister is being mentioned. Dont know if he has enough managerial experience just to step into national management, but if he got the right assistant he could be ok.

He'd be a great signing but i think a few EPL clubs would be in for him

Funny you mention Craig Moore Juff, I was thinking we could really be done with him again at the moment and would be an ideal captain. Pity he took the huff!!

Id take Weir short term to partner Svensson. But what a massive loss not getting Pressley was. He solved the centre half and captain problem.

I think Walter will be a lot more reserved this time round and Coisty will have a big say. He wont change much for his first game but i think we'll see a different attitude from the players.
