  1. Do you want to explain this?? Colin and Justin???
  2. Im with you Juff on all this but I can see why Riordan wasnt picked - His name never came out the hat along with the others!
  3. Its a great problem to have for once, and its the same at centre half now aswell. Id still like McCulloch and 1 from Hartley / Brown. I think Hartley may play RM if he signs
  4. Green is fit, but even if he had 1 bad game v Reading he is still better than Carrolline
  5. I thought it was for the friendly in February (cant remember who against). But even if its a get together - that makes his exclusions worse.
  6. LMAO I see Naismith bagged a hatrick last night for Killie to put them in the CIS final. And to add to my point Steven Smith should be have been called up if he is in the plans injured or not. As you say McFadden and Webster are both out injured. 2 days into the job and he has absolutely baffled me already. This is probably the start of a comedy of errors.
  7. Curbishley is beginning to get on my tits with his after-match comments that "we just need a win" "we should have won here and there" He is playing butter fingers in goal (Roy Carroll) ahead of Englands No.2 Green. Thats a mistake straight away. Upfront he continues to play Zamora who is a Kris Boyd type player - slow with the first touch like a girl. He has signed about 3 centre halfs and is linked with another 12. His latest is Hierardesson (sp) from Charlton. I didnt agree with letting Pardew go and I can see Charlton staying up with the 3 W's going down - Watford West Ham and Wigan.
  8. I bet Andy Watsit had a lot to do with some of the plums in that squad. Surely if its his first squad for a friendly he has to bring in everyone who is in his thoughts - Maloney, Riordan, O Connor, Brown, Thompson etc should have been included. McLeish has shown his crazy selections already if he can put McFadden in the squad with a broken foot but not those Ive mentioned. I forgot Steven Thompson exsisted but wouldnt have had him in the squad.
  9. And i have to add that I didnt see this signing coming at all. It is out of the blue and I like the way we do this things sometimes.
  10. Yeah Walter has certainly strengthened (sp) us at the back and now seems to be working on the midfield. Im still hoping for McCulloch more than anyone else to balance out the left hand side. Once Webster is fit we will be looking very strong at the back but in the mean time our XI has improved. I think we will also need to get a keeper in the Letizi has gone and Klos is going.
  11. And the team of Ex flops continues to rise. He wasnt even a keeper, he looked more like a flourist than anything else. Bye Bye
  12. Lol bloody students trying to save a buck As far as i know mate they dont, its for 65+ Enjoy your trip up though
  13. Can someone tell me what kind of player Thompson is exactly in the midfield?? If we were to get 1 of the twins from Hibs id of preferred Brown but I havent seen much of Thompson. But welcome to The Brox. And glad to see another Scot on board. Im just hoping for McCulloch now. I dont like being held to ransom from Hearts on Hartley coz he is 30 but he would still improve us.
  14. Coupon buggered
  15. Im happy for O Neill to take there decent players away. I dont like Maloney coz he puffs his cheeks out everytime he gets the ball but he is a decent wee player.
  16. Newcastle v Villa has to be a BANKER draw.
  17. Time to throw another tener in the bookies direction West Ham 7/2 (to beat Liverpool) - They HAVE to win. They beat Arsenal and Man Utd at home so they can beat Liverpool. Newcastle v Villa draw 11/5 West Brom 4/6 (to beat Plymouth)

    1 day to go

Transfer window closes tomorrow and it would be nice to get at least 2 of our targets in. This will allow them to gel and settle for our title launch next season. And also try and get us another few rounds in the UEFA cup. Our defence is sorted for the season bar maybe a RB. But id like to see Webster sign permanently and we wont have to worry about sloppy centre halfs for a while. Id also like McCulloch in. He would be my first choice target at the moment. He can play on the left, not as a natural winger, but a more solid midfielder. He also props up with goals and will be suited to the scottish game. Dont know whats happening with Hartley, Buba says the deal is dead - maybe he can shed some light??? But he will improve the team aswell. I think those 2 would be enough to get us through until the summer. I dont fancy Gow or Fotheringham. Upfront we still have 4 strikers but its time to play Sebo from the start and I can see him coming good for us.
  19. The fans seem very split on Buffel and Im on the side of being a fan of him. He has faults that I thought Walter and Ally could fix. 1) Toughing him up 2) make him realise a game last 90 mins 3) Play him in his position With those points above added to his skill and ability then we would have a good player in the creative role. Wherever he goes (he'll be more suited in the continent) i think he will do a good job.
  20. A bit like Gow, this one doesnt take to my fancy at all. Im thinking about the UEFA cup and if we come up against 1 of the few big boys. I know Walter put a good spirit into the Scotland team with average players. But the average players in the national team are still a good crop who play at a decent level. And the reason they are average for being a national team is because they are being judged against the likes of Italy, France, Brazils top players. But going for Fotheringham, whom i cant say ive heard of much, doesnt appeal to me. Didnt he start with Dundee then fail at Celtic?? As for him being in Germany - who was that with?? Whereas the likes of McCulloch are much more appealing as he has came on well in the EPL and scores a few goals.
  21. Cant find anything on this either. Has Strachan came in with a last minute bid for him or something!! That wouldnt surprise me at all.

    Charlie Miller

He'd be a decent signing for the likes of St Mirren and would bring them experience. He was quite good for us in his first spell with the club. He was great at breaking up oppositions play, i remember him doing that at Hampden against Celtic which lead to us scoring. Scary to think he is 30. I remember him making his debut at Aberdeen as a 17 year old! Hope he finds a club.
  23. 20-25 years ago though Juff.
  24. Yeah absolutely. He is a sunday league manager at best. I think McLeish would be a much better manager if he had a experienced, professional assistant. Im surprised Roy Aitken has been chosen over McAllister. I hope they take Gary Mac in aswell and look at a striker coach like Billy Dodds.
  25. Looks like McLeish will be announced today. At least we will get to see close to hand if he does any dodgy selections and formations Gary McAllister will be a good appointment along side him, but there are rumours that Roy Aitken could be involved. We top our qualifying group and Walter has left a good ground to work on, unlike when he came in to deal with the mess Berti left. So new excuses to not still topping the group come October
