Ive always said id take Webster but id still like a more experienced defender to play with him. Although it could be a long term partnership with Svensson. I wonder if we could get Dave Weir in from Everton on the cheap to settle Webster.
-
He hasnt signed yet, but if he does he cant play until the summer. Dont think Hartson will go to West Ham. We still have Zamora, Harewood, Teddy (until the summer prob), Tevez? and Ashton. Viduka would be a great signing if he plays to his best everyweek. But a defender is first priority. Dailly is finished and not EPL standard anymore. If Gabbidon and Ferdinand arent fit then we struggle.

I like a better keeper - yes. He pulls of fine saves but also makes mistakes. I know he is young and we have been spoiled by great keepers but he isnt nowhere near ready enough to step into Klos' shoes.

From the minute Coisty was mentioned i was singing that I had quite a lot of thinking on my 12 hour flight today, but then i didnt know Walter and Ally were as good as done. So all the names i came up with are now a waste of my thoughts - i could have been looking at women instead But seriously, i see what Gav is saying about the chance of WS and AM losing there legendary status. Personally i cant see that happen - they are legends whatever. It would be a different story if we were high flying at the moment and they drageed us backwards but they honestly cant do any worse that the last 18 months. If they do fail then surely everyone will then see the problems are deeper than the playing team. As i said many names came to mind, but at this point in time due to the situation, Walter and Ally have to come in and sort it. I dont even think Souness could sort out the situation as good as those 2 as the club means everything to both of them. As for Ferguson, i think we need his ability at the moment but if he left i wouldnt give a monkeys.

That team does nothing for me. The defence isnt bad but the rest looks like an average SPL side. ____________________Another_________________ Hutton_______Webster______Svensson_____Smith Burke________Ferguson____Hemdani______Quashie _______________Boyd____Another_____________

Good post and i can see what your saying, but its from the Ferguson camp only. I still think Ferguson has underminded the manager here and it may have been going on last 2 seasons also. Thats why id like McCoist to come in - Super Ally will be BF's hero and he HAS to look up to him. Although id probably keep BF now as i dont see Brown as a better replacement but id keep the captains armband off him. That would be the 3rd time he has been handed it!!

Im always up for a conspiracy theory and the opening post could easy happen!! However Im not getting my hopes up for Rino's return until it was actually fact and i saw him in a blue shirt again. As for the captaincy - Prso for the rest of the season by a country mile. I feel for Gavin Rae he has been the scapegoat here and probably will leave the club in the summer.
-
I think there are a few legends who should come in but naming them all is living in the past. Id definatly take in Gough and McCoist and probably McCall. Ive always faniced both Laudrups as a team but id take in Brian in some sort of role.

Gersnet Analysis: Sir Davie McFly and Short-termism
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Firstly, Ascender, your post was very good. Id only like to add that we will never know if PLG could turn the corner without Ferguson as captain. IMO i think things would have but thats a different matter, on to the future. I get a good feeling about Smith and McCoist. I think Smith has improved in europe with his scotland games. I just wonder if he will want to give up this chance of taking Scotland to the Euro's. IMO he cant do both jobs as the top man - i thin kits just too much because of the situation we are in. But this remains to be seen. As for McCoist, i cant think of anyone who will sort the dressing room out (in a good way) more than Ally. And the strikers will improve there game by a lot - just look at Kenny Miller in his Scotland games that McCoist has helped him. Id prefer these 2 than Billy Davies or George Burley at the moment as its obvious the team needs a Rangers man with legendary status to sort it out. I just hope its a quick appointment if they are coming. -
Just logging on for the first time since PLG departure (been travelling back) and the first thing that came to me was how much will PLG get paid for leaving? If i remember correct he was on 1.4 million a season and on a 2/3 yr deal so he'll get a couple of million pay off anyway. Now why is murray content with paying this when it could have went straight into the team! Im puzzled by it. Im sure i'll gte round to this topic eventually though on the other threads. But I see the likes of Gow, Thompson being mentioned. They are a NO for me. Id take Brown and Webster and like to see Quashie and Koumas come in.

PSG sprang straight to my mind

Great signing for West Ham and I hope Etherington does go the other way. He hasnt played well since the season we came up in the Championship. Mark Viduka, Shaun Wright Phillips and Matthew Upson are next up C'mon you Irons

Maybe he feels Ferguson ruined this when he returned from injuy after our good start. He can now get back to this with: _________________McGregor_____________ Hutton_____Svensson____Hemdani____Smith ____________Rae©_____Clement________ Sionko___________Buffel_________Burke__ _________________Prso_________________

This was the only chance i got to watch it but after seeing Andy Walker was the presenter i decided to go with Ransom on Channel 5.

I agree we cant be a 1 man team and nobody has stepped up to the mantle to level ferguson and Prso's ability but im not sure what your getting at here. I think he takes on too much responsibility and he plays his own game and it maybe makes it like Ferguson is playing on his own. - I cant fault him for effort there but only time will tell if Le Guen has done the right thing in taking responsibility away. Yes id like a few more players to step up and give more to the team and BF as a captain could have went with a different approach to the likes of Burke, Smith etc to make them better players rather than his outburst to Smith in the tunnel.
-
Are you saying he is the same player? He doesnt get nearly as much goals as he used to for a start. I'll go back to last season (Caley away) and this season (Motherwell 1st game, Utd 2nd game, Hearts 1st game) and we played them off the park with superb football in BF didnt play. I dont see Rangers live as much as yourself for obvious reasons but ive made a few trips to Ibrox when ive been across in the last year or so and i watch us every away game on setanta and the only time Ferguson played to his top self was Porto in Sep 05 - he was different class that night, but he just doesnt repeat it NEARLY enough. Recently he has been good and was awesome against Celtic but 2 months isnt good enough
-
But he isnt the same player as 2-3 seasons ago Cammy. Nobody doubts that he is Rangers thru and thru for taking painkilling injections and credit to him for that. But since his return he hasnt been the same player and this season He has played well on November and December this year but thats about it.
-
I cant believe we have got to the stage were we are looking at Falkirk and Hibs players to win us the league again when Celtic take players from Madrid and a top Dutch striker!!
-
Yeah i should have said 1 man and not player
-
When Ferguson plays it seems like we are a 1 man team but when he is out we seem to come together. Ive saw this in the past, a few posters on here have seen it (Eh Pete? ) and now many Le Guen. He can be effective on his day (BF) but id rather 11 men as a team than 1 man
-
IMO everything is speculation. I want Le Guen to stay and i hope he turns things round with this decision. If he doesnt (over the next 5 months) then we need to start thinking if he is the right man for the job.
-
Send him to Everton and we get Dave Weir and James Mcfadden plus a million
-
Id take Brown and Anderson as squad players only. Brown might add to the midfield if we get a class midfielder and Anderson would be good back up long term.
-
Quite a good point Pete, and it may also be that all the new signings take a full season to get used to the SPL.
-
I accept your post as its quite good and may prove to be true, however if Le Guen turns the ship and we start winning and playing good then we'll be praising him. As for Nando - he needed booted out!!!
