Arsenal have a back log of games, they have another FA cup reply to play and they need to turn round the PSV result in the CL so your right Alan, it will be the youngsters. Im trying to remember who won this cup last year??? Chelsea beat Liverpool 2 years ago. Was it Boro beating Bolton?

Arsenal v Chelsea - didnt realise it was this sunday. I wonder if Wenger will stick with his younger side who have been excellent all the way or will he be tempted to play Henry and Co. Should be a good game, I'll be cheering on the Goons and go for a 2-1 win to Arsenal after extra time

I think if we open up a gap over Hearts and Aberdeen then the remaining 2 months of the season is a perfect time to give Sebo a run, even for an hour each game. Its not like he is going to allow Hearts and Adbn to catch us by his own errors.
-
I havent backed Sebo, all ive said is that he MIGHT turn out to be a better player. The guy hasnt nearly had a good enough chance to be rated.
-
Id go with that team but id MAYBE consider Sionko for Burke. I know il get pelters for that as he has been gash recently but maybe the euro night will suit him more.
-
Im with Cammy 100% on this. Boyd doesnt have it in his game to nick a winner when we need it. Most of his goals are simple that anyone could score, and his misses more than he scores. And his first touch is awful. If Sebo was given a chance we might see him doing the same thing. Hopefully with McCoist training him he will get better and he has age on his side, but im not confident about winning OF and Euro away games with Boyd and other current players in the team. Our current position is due to the players we have. When we play average SPL players we will be an average SPL side, we've got plenty in the team and thats why we are 1) so far behind Celtic and 2) just ahead of Hearts and Aberdeen. Its our better players who are a class above the average SPL player (Ferguson, Hemdani, Prso) who get us out of it half the time and not Boyds goals.

Id say there is plenty of racism in society but most of it comes down to ignorance and uneducated morons not even knowing half the time. A classic case is that Jade Goody on BB, she thought she was being the hard person and her instinct was to use a racist type comment without even thinking. It wasnt until she was confronted on national TV after it that she realised. IMO a lot of those who do the salute during RB and GSTQ are doing the same - they dont even think about it but they do it coz the next guy does it. If the guy next to them started singing "my grannie is a porn star" they would probably join in.

It think Ibrox will be good on thursday because of the scoreline. If we had taken a lead into this game it wouldnt be as good, but the fans know we need to turn it round in 90 mins so they will be up for it. On another point, I listen to Jim Traynor some Sunday mornings via the internet while im having my breakfast just to catch up on some goss and hear the dumplings that phone in that program. 2 weeks ago Traynor said the atmosphere at Celtic outclasses the atmosphere at Ibrox on Euro nights. That is utter bias shite. Ok parkhead may be good aswell but to say he couldnt compare the 2 is utter garbage. Ive been to many a euro night when Ibrox has been at its best and it doesnt get any better. Bayern in 2000 and Porto in 2005 were unbelievable, just to mention those 2.
-
Its a good point Pete, but when we dont have any more options Im hoping Ferguson makes it and plays, even if its just 70 mins. His best games have been in Europe. Hopefully with Thompson in the side Barry can go on and up his game a bit more. Gavin Rae isnt an option IMO, id rather play Burke through the middle than bring Rae in. Its nothing personnel but he is absolutely rank.
-
Apparently Becks played well again last night against Bayern. Good on him, I actually like Beckham. He is over rated as a player as some think he is world class. I think he is a very good player but not world class. His crossing and passing are unique and a one-off and he can still do a job for England.

Bellamy is a little mink who needs a kick-in. I hate players like that who think they are untouchable coz they are footballers who earn so much money. No wonder he has been as so many clubs coz nobody can stand him. He is a great wee player mind you, but still an ass. He will be booted out of Liverpool in the summer and it will go downhill from there. Youd think he would learn his lesson. He is 27 now and is playing for the team he supported as a boy.
-
I dont see a problem with a team taking there own free kick early. Defences should get ready asap rather than trying to steel a few yards in the wall and complaining. As for the crush on a few fans, this is absolutely not acceptable in 2007. The French FA and Lille should be hammered for having steel fencing up there. This could have turned out tragic but luckily it was some poor old dear that just needed carried away. The french police fired in tear gas thinking that would solve the problem - thats shocking!!

Im not surprised it was a draw, id of went for that before the game. But Milan will beat them in the San Siro 2-0
-
Read that this morning, its just pretty unbeliveable. He was a Gers player about a day and 10 mins into his first training session he gets crocked. Like Fraser says, I hope its a speedy recovery and he gets back before the end of the season.

TBH i havent seen Kenny Miller this season as I dont watch Celtic over here except in OF games. But i was talking about the Kenny Miller i watch for scotland. He was great against Italy and Norway away. When Miller plays like that id take him ahead of Boyd.
-
Forgot about that. In that case it gives us a tough choice. If Hemdani moves to the back then we will need to maybe bring Rae in depending if Thompson and Fergusons fitness - But thats not exactly an encouraging thought.
-
Id actually have Miller in my team ahead of Boyd
-
Buba, I dont think for 1 second Barry faked the injury think the game was won. But I want to see him and Thompson fit, that would be a huge boost. Id play Papac next to Weir if Svensson doesnt make it and keep play Hemdani in a sitting/sweeper role infront of them.
-
IMO Boyd should only be playing when we have the right personnel behind him - that way he can be a poacher all he wants. It worked for McCoist. But we are wasting a position at the moment, we can clearly see that creation in the final 3rd is non-exsistant at the moment so we need the frontmen to work that bit more.
-
Ehiogu, Thompson are touch and go. Svensson was poor and limped off, plus Ferguson is a doubt, all this added to the current injury list. If these lot are out I dread to think of our starting XI against Hapoel. The midfield will be empty and Rae will have to be brought back in.
-
Agree about McGregor and Boyd being squad players. We desperatly need replacements for these 2, they arent good enough for long term first choices. Dont think we need an entire back 4. I think our centre half options are good enough. If we can get 2 seasons out of Ehiogu then il be happy with that and hopefully Webster signs long term. Young Smith could still develop at LB. But i really hope this Scott McDonald rumour doesnt unfold. The thought of him, Boyd and Gow being our choice of strikers is depressing.
-
IMO he is shouldnt be starting every game, he doesnt do enough for 90 mins and doesnt merit a place in the team all the time. Yes he can put the ball in the net but we need more from our strikers.
-
Id say thats absolute horse-radish! How can a 5 star stadium come under fire!! But TBH id rather see the screens go and replaced with seats. Id rather see fans in than the TVs. Also move the away fans back to the Broomie to get the atmosphere back

Continuing from my other thread, Walter has a few months to decide the Ins and Outs of the team but mainly who he thinks wont cut it at Ibrox. Firstly Walter has let two flops go (Letizi and JRod) although Jrod performed in occassion last season. But he was average at best (despite him getting a france call up). Its a shame Weir is 36 and Ehiogu is 34, but i think we can get 2 good years out of Ugo. We need Gavin Rae to move on, he is well out his depth in the SPL never mind in a Rangers shirt. Id also let Nacho Novo go. He has been a good servant and gave 200% but he cant repeat his 25 goal season from a few years back. We also have Prso playing for another year but the jury is out with Sebo as he asnt had a chance. Id like Lee McCulloch and Scott Brown in and an experienced goal scorer.

Just scored to Man City 1-1 v Preston.
