Agree with most of you, I think he is finished aswell, it was only a few weeks ago that it was announced he could play on but he needs to see specialist again. I think the World Cup took a lot out him in the summer, so hopefully he plays a bit part this season and gets a good rest in the summer and plays on next season.

1 target left this season is to clinch 2nd place. Beating Aberdeen on Saturday puts us in a good position to do this. However plans for changing the squad for next season HAVE to get in place. Guys like Gavin Rae, Nacho Novo, Sionko, Adam, Klos, Ian Murray should be told this monring to look for other clubs if their contract is not already up. We cant chop the hole squad or id be adding a few more names to the list. Jury still out on Sebo as he has only had 2 games upfront on his own. WS should continue to give him a run for the next few weeks (WITH A PARTNER) to see what he can do. We need to set out targets. Gow and Broadfoot are joining and that reminds me in the days of signing Gary Bollan and Alec Cleland, however id have Cleland in the team right now - thats how backward we are. The players we need to go out and enquire about IMO are Lee McCulloch, Peter Lovenkrands, Robbie Fowler, James McFadden, Gary Naysmith along with buying Webster permanently. One player in our squad who could still possibly make an impact is Thomas Buffel. Smith has been playing a 4-5-1 in the last few games with a midfielder playing behind the striker. This is Buffels position and he hasnt EVER been given a chance to play there for us. The guy has loads of skill and can be a match winner if given the space. We could build the midfield round Ferguson and Hemdani with those additions including Buffel. It really is our midfield and forwards that need changing. Im pretty happy with the defence as long as Weir, Ehiogu and Webster are there. Finally the goalkeeper. Unless a really good keeper is identified then we will stick with McGregor. Il say it again he is a decent keeper but thats it. He is under the spotlight just now, but if he is our No.1 for nest season then FFS get Andy Goram to Murray Pk in some role to help him improve.

I hope Walter sits down with his staff, including Murray and sets out a direction for the club. WS is Rangers through and through but why is he so negative with selections? Does he not have confidence in the pack of cards he has been dealt with? I could understand his point if this was true but he plays the dumplings that ive no confidence in. Next season we have to get closer to Celtic and i think we will slightly but not over a season. He has got to get back to putting 2 strikers on the field. If he wants to keep 5 in the midfield then fine, play a 3-5-2. Ok, he doesnt have an open cheque book to sign 6 million pound players again but FFS lets set out ambitions higher than Scott McDonald. Id rather Scott MacLean back than him as the latter is playing at a higher level than Motherwell IMO. The dead wood needs booted out along with those who just dont have it in there locker. IMO Ian Murray, Charlie Adam, Gavin Rae and Kris Boyd are squad players at best and others arent far off them like Sebo, Novo, Thomson, but these guys have to be playing right now as we dont have anyone else. Kevin Thomson hasnt impressed me one bit and I wasnt impressed when we signed him. He has to prove this bear wrong. We are crying out for some experienced midfielders and strikers. Its worked good at the back bring in 2 older players and we still have a few young centre halfs in Svensson, Papac and Webster to come in. A quality forward needs to come in. Ive mentioned Robbie Fowler before as the answer. People say he is finished but he is 30 or 31 and still has a magical touch compared to Boyd. I honestly think he would sign for us if we went for him.

You've got a point or 2 Gav, we are struggling to make chances but its blind obvious the reason - we have played those games with 1 striker. As you say every supporter can see it so why cant he. I will be really interested to see his selection against Aberdeen at Ibrox on saturday. if he plays 1 upfront against them then thats an embarresment. But I was right that Rae would come in last night and I just know for a fact Boyd will be back against them. If he is then he il be fuming if he plays him upfront on his own, and having a midfielder playing right behind him doesnt count. If Prso is only available for 20 mins a game then he should just retire but if he isnt then he has GOT to start even though he only lasts 60 mins. Id rather us play good football through Prso for the first hour where we can build a lead rather than play boring 4-5-1 and hope it changes in the last 25 mins.

Well most of us got it right that Rae would come in even though non of us would have done that. And he was made captain aswell He should have started with Prso and Sebo upfront and taken Prso off after 60 mins and moved Novo upfront and put Burke on the right. Absolutely negative tactics which see us go out of europe playing pish poor in 2 games. Id of been content with going out of europe if we had a real go over 2 games but we didnt. Walter has gone with the same tactics as he did as Scotland manager which doesnt work for us.

For some bizarre reason I take part in this football league survey every season, they email it to me! But i didnt vote for sacking draws - that would be a terrible decision. They think it would make the games more exciting but it would be the opposite IMO. Smaller teams would play defensively and play for a penalty shoot out and hope they get there win that way. Then you could see some average sides making the play offs via this way and possibly getting to the Premiership. Its a no-no for me. Look at the CHelsea v Spurs 3-3 draw last week - great entertainment - some draws are fine. Plus i like to have a flutter on 3 draws at the weekend and I always back Championship draws.

Platini actually has some decent ideas. He is spot on about the 4th team from England, Spain and Italy not being as important as the champions of Poland etc. Obviously the Polish champs wouldnt make an impact straight away in the CL but after a few seasons of this there revenue would be boosted and they would improve. Its a fair way. Also, not mentioned, is his idea that he wants 4 linesman in games. This is something i said about 7 years ago that would improve the decisions of games (if the FA allows them common sense). Id much rather give this a go than have start stop technology.
