Id actually have Miller in my team ahead of Boyd
-
Buba, I dont think for 1 second Barry faked the injury think the game was won. But I want to see him and Thompson fit, that would be a huge boost. Id play Papac next to Weir if Svensson doesnt make it and keep play Hemdani in a sitting/sweeper role infront of them.
-
IMO Boyd should only be playing when we have the right personnel behind him - that way he can be a poacher all he wants. It worked for McCoist. But we are wasting a position at the moment, we can clearly see that creation in the final 3rd is non-exsistant at the moment so we need the frontmen to work that bit more.
-
Ehiogu, Thompson are touch and go. Svensson was poor and limped off, plus Ferguson is a doubt, all this added to the current injury list. If these lot are out I dread to think of our starting XI against Hapoel. The midfield will be empty and Rae will have to be brought back in.
-
Agree about McGregor and Boyd being squad players. We desperatly need replacements for these 2, they arent good enough for long term first choices. Dont think we need an entire back 4. I think our centre half options are good enough. If we can get 2 seasons out of Ehiogu then il be happy with that and hopefully Webster signs long term. Young Smith could still develop at LB. But i really hope this Scott McDonald rumour doesnt unfold. The thought of him, Boyd and Gow being our choice of strikers is depressing.
-
IMO he is shouldnt be starting every game, he doesnt do enough for 90 mins and doesnt merit a place in the team all the time. Yes he can put the ball in the net but we need more from our strikers.
-
Id say thats absolute horse-radish! How can a 5 star stadium come under fire!! But TBH id rather see the screens go and replaced with seats. Id rather see fans in than the TVs. Also move the away fans back to the Broomie to get the atmosphere back

Continuing from my other thread, Walter has a few months to decide the Ins and Outs of the team but mainly who he thinks wont cut it at Ibrox. Firstly Walter has let two flops go (Letizi and JRod) although Jrod performed in occassion last season. But he was average at best (despite him getting a france call up). Its a shame Weir is 36 and Ehiogu is 34, but i think we can get 2 good years out of Ugo. We need Gavin Rae to move on, he is well out his depth in the SPL never mind in a Rangers shirt. Id also let Nacho Novo go. He has been a good servant and gave 200% but he cant repeat his 25 goal season from a few years back. We also have Prso playing for another year but the jury is out with Sebo as he asnt had a chance. Id like Lee McCulloch and Scott Brown in and an experienced goal scorer.

Just scored to Man City 1-1 v Preston.

See what your saying mate, but WS and AM know the club inside out and i think Murray knows there can be no cover ups with these 2. Maybe we shouldnt kid ourselves that Walter will wave a magic wand but he can guarentee that he will be aiming for us to be much closer to Celtic. I dont think we will lose or draw silly games under Walter like we did with Eck or PLG. We cant compare ourselves with EPL sides. Lets just be grateful the debt is drastically reducing. Instead of comparing ourselves to Arsenal or Reading, lets look at Leeds and Hearts.

I see Becks was sent off last night. He was rash but i dont think it was a straight red. This after making a good comeback and scoring the other day. However, there is also the rumour going round that he is getting an England recall, McLaren has hinted the door is open. On a second thought McLaren is turning round and saying he needs him and trying to create a topic other than Him being shite. IMO England should recall Becks for the right mid role, but Lampard should be dropped. He is a passenger in the england team the same as he has been for Chelsea last month. I dont buy Gerrard and Lampard cant play in the same team. McLaren needs to beg Scholes to return and stick him in with Gerrard with Becks right and J Cole left.

Ok folks, Frankie has done a terrific job and put in lots of effort to get the forum back up and running (Bmck aswell) along with our new site. Its all looking good and we have a few poster back and the place picked up towards the end of the week. Im doing my wee bit (not thats its much) of adding a match preview on a friday morning and il do a weekly collum on any topic that enters my head. (This week is the post "Can we return to the summit") I'll also try and get all rooms going with decent chat - no jokes about the frying egg thread - that was genuine coz i keep burning the things!!!! There are other posters out there capable of doing the same and CammyF rants would be welcomed back. So now its everyone elses turn to keep posting when they can Ps on a side note, lets seriously think about this GersNet Tshirt idea once the designers have a free minute. I had a wee idea like those who wanted could all pay/buy nice polo tshirts. But if we have money left over we could get cheaper ones made up and if you reach a landmark post-count like 10,000 (or 3000 to be fair) then you get a free Tshirt. Just an idea.

I see Klos is back in training this week. I find it a bit strange his career is over 1 week but is back in the next. Could there be something fishy going on that he cant/wont play for us again (not we thought he would anyway)
-
Went for 5 homes eventually but of course no wins: Middlesboro v West Brom 2-2 (AND I FOOKIN KNEW IT WOULD BE A DRAW) Cardiff v Leeds 1-0 Stoke v Luton 0-0 Wolves v Barnsley 2-1 Huddersfield v Brentford 0-2 (Hudd's are 11th, Brent are 20th )

After Walter Smith left the club in 1998 nobody it can be said with hindsight that we went off track. We were the domestic force by a country mile for a long period of time but not able to compete with the big boys of Europe so an alternative route was taken. Domestic success wasnt enough. It started with a bang with Dick Advocaat in charge. We missed out on our 10th title in a row the previous season which sent us in to the UEFA cup in 1998/99. We matched the mighty Parma that season and retained our league title - we were champs again. This continued into the next season and we competed in Europe with 3 teams from the top shelf - once again Parma, PSV and Bayern - the latter being extremely lucky to get anything off us. Only Valencia out classed us this year and we missed out on the next stage which really was a downfall moment. But the title was retained. The next season we all expected more of the same however it couldnt have went worse. Our midfield which was a match for anyone up and down the country and contributed to around 35+ goals a season was totally sold off. Some of them wanted to leave to join bigger clubs (which has back fired) but some wanted to stay. In replacement we were told better players were coming in, however we got an aging midfielder from Hibs (Latapy), a midfielder that didnt kick a ball for us (Nerlinger) and an aging striker from Dundee (Canniggia) - nothing near to what we had just sold off. We were battered in the league by Celtic. We were soaked with debt and had to downsize dramatically. A young scottish manager came in (McLeish) and didnt have an open cheque book like his previous managers. However he still signed a high quantity of players but never seemed to know what to do with them. In the next 5 seasons we won 2 titles which could easy have went the other way. But he still gave us a number of trophies but a mighty glamours side we were not. Teams would come to our fortress and no longer be intimidated, instead they were capable of matching us. We were no longer winning old firm games left right and centre like we were used to - infact we were struggling to win them home or away while being left trailing in the league. We decided to go for a top Euro coach which delighted every Blue Nose and many expected a fix over night. Many were sensible and expected a fix over a period of at least 4-6 months and some expected a fix in a year. But nobody expected us to go backwards. We didnt think the previous season could have been worsened however it. In europe however, we were doing ok and broke into the last 16 of the CL and this season we are no means out of the last 16 of the UEFA. - This was 1 bright spark from our depression run. Something happened back stage in the dressing room that we wont end up finding out but it forced us into another change in manager. We brought back the man who has lead us to so much domestic glory and the master of getting the better of Celtic - CAN HE DO IT AGAIN?? And can he return us to the Summit of Scotland where we should be?? But Walter will certainly patch up a few wrongs that we have like defensive weaknesses and any dressing room splits. But importantly he will have the players playing for the jersey again. Along side him this time is a cult hero in Govan and our record goalscorer - Mr McCoist who knows more than anyone what its like to pull on the blue jersey. I believe he has came in at a good time as the league was gone and domestic cups were gone and he has this few months to find out what he needs in the team. Not much pressure on him except to get us 2nd spot in the league which we are favourites for. So roll on August where we can begin afresh again and this time next year we hope to be back on top.

Thats a lot of work for the guy who cuts the grass if it is into Saltires and Union flags. The RFC symbol would look good but again that would be difficult to do. I think the grass should be dyed blue anyway
-
They fookin can aswell if we dont beat 1 of Falkirk and Hibs next
-
St Mirren / Caley - Same team
-
Eh??? WTF
-
Yeah, now we just need Caley to nick something at Tynecastle

2-0 to the mhankies at half time but Nakamura scored another peach of a free kick. The sheep are them usual self - cant raise there game unless its us. Even the fans dont turn up, there are loads of empty seats but when I was there in December for our game it was a complete sell out. Im not watching the 2nd half - i cant stand seeing any of them win even though a celtic win is better for us for 2nd place.
-
Im having a shambles picking teams, ive changed my mind on my first bet, I dont fancy Preston anymore and fancy Boro to win.

Welcome back Bluetooth, and a good read for your returning post

Id take him back, his pace just now would be priceless. Upfront playing off the front man
