Yeah Ian they are different players, but my point is more that I think Boyd lacks a bit of effort. I dont actually blame Boyd fully as I dont think its fair he plays on his own as he obviously cant. I would like to see those 2 being partnered at some point.
-
I thought some of his tackles were funny aswell but in a good way, It was great to see him flying in at 100MPH to the celtic defence. Its a tough one for MOTM but its refreshing to actually have such debate. Sebo, Novo, Weir and Hutton are the top condenders IMO and Sebo pips it for me - Just! Hutton was superb and that last minute tackle in our box when Weir and Ehiogu were caught out was just brilliant and he even got a foul out of it.
-
How is it nonsense?? We dont know what Sebo can do yet when he plays a run of games. Boyd looks like he fills his boots with sand before games and has a lack of effort IMO. I know he cant get around like Sebo did, but Sebo gets 10/10 for effort and Boyd cant trap a ball.
-
Id go 4-4-2 aswell but id need to think about who id play. Id probably keep Novo right wing after last nights game and bring Prso in upfront to play with Sebo.
-
I know the likes of Novo and Hutton were top drawer today but Sebo deserves a mention. He comes in and finally gets a start, and i thought he was excellent today. He challenged every ball and ran into there defence with pace and strength and gave them a tough time. We have to remember he was up against there back 4 on his own. Boyd needs to take note on how to play upfront on his own. Ive been saying it all season that Sebo deserves a run in the team and I think he will come good if he gets a partnership going with someone - who knows it may even be Boyd but id rather he played upfront with Novo. The celtic defence hated the fact he was sliding in at full pelt. Great stuff Sebo.

Done sir!! Cheers, glasses up

A win at last!!! Had a sneaky fiver on Draw half time / Gers Full time at 8/1
-
Caught the last 10 mins, Defoe hit the bar at 3-3 and Spurs hit the post earlier aswell. They were unlucky.

3-1 Spurs after 35 mins

Agree with Pete here, Hemdani cant be slated at all this season. When he has played centre half in european games he has strolled it, but its the rough and tumble of the SPL that makes him look like he struggles in those games - but even then I cant see where the original point came from. The problem with Hemdani is he is 2 yards short of pace. Had he had that extra quicker feet then who knows what he could do. But technically he is the best player we have along with Prso. I also would like to see him given more duties to go forward. As for Boyd, ive said my piece on him. I want to see Sebo or Novo play instead of him. These guys will run all day, and if we are to play negative with 1 upfront it should be 1 of those 2. The more i think of it I wouldnt mind seeing Novo and Sebo both start against Celtic.

Preston cost me!!! They are going well in the Championship and to push there promotion bid they go to struggling Hull and lose!!!! I had Preston to beat Hull Sunderland (who are flying) to win at Barnsley - 2-0 Cardiff to beat Norwich - 1-0 Leeds to beat Luton - 1-0 The Championship league is great stuff BTW. About 7 teams all going for it, big game tomorrow Wolves v West Brom.

Not a great reply, is that just to win a point? . Did you only used the Carlos example out of spite from the other thread? And it cant be compared anyway whereas the Larsson example is pretty similar i.e. a player on way out of the club but still plays.
-
I just find it amusing that you would say no to a world cup winner in the team when we have players in the side who arent good enough. Im not the only one to have a laugh coz I dont agree, didnt you say my Larsson comment was a bit silly the other day?? Funny how if you dont agree with someone you think its silly!!

Leeds crowds have dropped from 40,000 in the EPL to 25,000. Its still a good crowd though. West Ham also got 27000 every home game when they dropped down a league for 2 seasons and they alwasy got big crowds in the 2nd tier when I lived down there and went to see them. - Be interesting next season tho!!
-
If Newcastle get to Hampden you'll get 50,000 who go week in week out to league games claiming they deserve a ticket. Those who were there the other night should be the ones considered for tickets. The most loyal fans down sown, IMO, was the Man City fans when they were relegated to Div 2. They still got 30,000 at Maine Rd.

Prso needs a long break over the summer and then used we need to use him sensibly next season. Remember, he played in the world cup last summer after a long season and came back into this year.
-
Ok we'll agree to disagree - thats the benefits of a democratic society However, Id also be happy with McGregor in goal next season if we are happy to go for 2nd place again. Im not just singleing him out, im picking the others like Adam, Murray, Rae and Boyd - they arent good enough to win us the title back if they all play. - But thats a different matter. I'll give McGregor a few points for some saves this season but overall he isnt in the same league as keepers we have had over the last 20 years. Maybe Goram could come in and be his keeping coach - that would do no harm!! Yes, Ehiogu and Klos had a blip the other night but its there first time playing together so its understandable. But the Larsson comparison isnt a bad one - Man U still knew a few weeks ago he was leaving when they had 5 strikers fit but still played him quite simply coz he is 1 of their best 2 strikers available. Its more of an example than a comparison that you play the best on offer to you. I accept Der Goalie is going in 2 months time but then again so is Novo yet people are still saying he should start on sunday!!!
-
On paper Liverpool will win which is why ive went with them, but i always get a gut feeling also which i never tend to go on, and it was that PSV would get past Arsenal - they did! Ive got the same feeling that they could actually go on and win the CL
-
Lol, ths thread is quite amusing now!! I no its a no-go BUT IF Carlos came, you guys would say no?? Ha ha
-
About 8 years later!!! I can still see a few things being balls up. Its going to be wierd to see games played there again, its ard to believe the last FA cup final was 7 years ago in 2000 between Chelsea avd Villa Cardiff has been a great replacement.
-
Beg to differ there Craig, yes he is leaving - accepted, but while he is being paid 30k a week he should be earning it. He's the best keeper at the club - so he should play. Did Sir Alex drop Larsson the other night even though he knew he was leaving next week?? You may have a point that it isnt in best interest of the club If McGregor is long term No1, but i seriously hope he isnt as I dont think he is good enough. He is a perfect sub keeper.
-
Im baffled by the critisisim of Klos. The guy was awesome for us for how many years??? He was a world class keeper and on par with Khan and Lehmann. So he has a fault or 2 but he is still the better keeper by a country mile and wins us points with those shot stopping saves.
-
I see what the guy is saying and he makes some good points, but it doesnt take away the fact our team were rank and some of our players are rank
-
You might want to wait a week bud, coz the rest of us will be watching the OF game this sunday
-
But Klos should still be in goal. He doesnt deserve to be dropped from the UEFA cup yet
