Morton probably wouldnt be a bad place to go this weekend BTW!!!

West Ham need to get relegated before any clause can be triggered But as much as id like West Ham to punt him on id rather it not be to Ibrox as I dont rate him at all, he has butter fingers of the highest order. Whats Man U doing with Ben Foster?? If they arent taken him back then we could take him for a year but if he does return to Old Trafford we could have Kusazuck (sp)
-
Man U were in 2nd gear most of the match, they started both halfs well and could have had a few more. But Im glad they have got a 6 pt lead again as Chelsea have a tricky trip to West Ham tonight and then Newcastle on the weekend. I was switching over to the Arsenal v Man City now and then and Arsenal played some great stuff first half and Fabregas' goal was a peach.
-
Exactly, but if i put the wink or smile icon then everyone would have got it
-
Is he as old as that?? He is playing well and at a high standard for his age then, but maybe he is another Teddy Sheringham
-
Fook sake, it was an attempt at a joke to see if Pete would fall for it and say "he's 37 aswell"
-
Yeah this is justified, Hemdani has easily been our best player this season and that includes consistancy aswell as performances. Well done Hemmy!!! I think our midfield should be built round him. Id have him holding with Thomson doing the battling and tackling (unless we can sign Tugay back - see footie chat), then have Buffel playing infront of them. Young player of the year would have been Hutton for me (if he is still young enough). He has came back this season with a great attitude and put in fantastic performances to a better standard than before his leg break. He got a lot of unfair criticism at the start of the season when IMO he wasnt near the worst player in the team, but since January he has been top notch especially in the important games against Celtic and Aberdeen. Adam has chipped in with a few goals but some of his performances have been absolute drivvel. Also well done to Dado, thoroughly deserved as he has been a legend, its just a pity his knees are playing up only at the age of 32.

Here is a player who we shouldnt have sold in the first place. He has been playing consistantly well for the last 2 seasons even though he is 33/34 and id welcome him back in the summer even on a years contract.

Yeah we have been away from finals for too long. The league cup was always one we could rely on winning about once every 2 years. But i said on another post the other day we are about to go on the biggest gap of not being in a Scottish cup final since the 1981-1992 gap. We havent been in this since 2003 and once again we miss out this year. So next year is a must for a cup final and win!!!!

I would never have guessed that in a quiz!! Great player!!
-
It has to be Ronaldo, he is risen the bar this season and played at a level that Henry has played at. He has to continue it for the next few seasons to be classed as a Premiership great but this season he has been awesome. Drogba, Scholes and Vidic would be the next 3 contenders. Ben Foster for the best keeper and Steve Coppell for manager of the season unless Sir Swex wins the treble again or Jose wins the quadriple

Agree with Juffery here but the only way Ferguson wont be the captain is if we sell him and I cant see Smith doing that. Weir and Webster may be the only other possibilities at the moment, or maybe an outside shout for Hutton as his performances and attitude has been superb of late. Prso would be the only suitable foreigner but he is away at the end of the season.
-
Haha he is slagging Ronaldo!!!! Ronaldo is by far the best player in the world right now and most fellow professionals are even coming out with this. Big McNee says he isnt so he must be junk!!! What a joker!!! He makes himself look stupid
-
Lol, Yeah Ritchie and Johnston for sure. Did Ritchie not get punted after about 3 weeks or something??? I thought about Duncan Ferguson aswell actually, 4 million and he did nothing except head butt the Raith player
-
Yeah, there should be some sort of rule that says teams have to play in the same shirt for 2 seasons. I dont like that design anyway, the red and white stripe along the top is horrendous.
-
Chelsea nicked it. Blackburn were unlucky tho. But fook me, Chelsea v Man Utd - what a final that will be!!! It couldnt be set up for a better occassion.
-
Nah he could probably still do a job for us and be better than half the team!!! What about Frank, how old is how these days???
-
Freddie Nieto was another one who was unlucky and never got a good enough chance. He scored about 6 goals in 4 games then got sent back to his club.

Yeah welcome to the boards, a good first few posts from you. BTW no you can post in the lounge straight away! Im with you on Ferguson and other points. But Im sitting on the fence with Le Guen. While he was in charge I kept saying we needed to be patient and it wouldnt be until February until we STARTED to see a change in his team - he never even got to Feb so we will never know. I was backing him and backing him but towards the end a few of his results were just getting ridiculous and I started to doubt if he could turn it round. However looking back now I probably think I was being rash and was angry with the poor results. I think Murray should have backed him in the Ferguson situation but the boo boys came out and won - just a shame. I do think Le Guen would have advanced the club in many areas but it wasnt to be.

David Murray ââ?¬â?? The Master Of Missed Opportunities
Gribz replied to CammyF's topic in Rangers Chat
Good read. I'll raise a few points though. I think there was a difference between Souness' departure and Smiths. Wasnt Souness about to leave us in the lurch while Smith announced he was leaving after bowing down to a big of fan pressure?? I also think Smith earned the right to stay on that season from SDM as he wasnt walking out on Rangers to another club like Souness was. We didnt take 10 IAR for a few reasons. The first error was Smith going public on leaving although I think this was maybe to prevent fan pressure. But this should have been kept between Murray and Smith. The next massive error was allowing Advocaat have a say on who would and who wouldnt be part of his plans. That let to a half fit Paul Gascoigne being moved on to Middlesboro at a crazy time. Andy Goram stated himself on a interview last week that if Gazza had stayed to the end of the season it would have made the difference as a half fit Gazza was still better than most in the league. We did win those 2 games against Celtic in both tournaments and it set it up nicely. But wasnt it a defeat at Kilmarnock and not Motherwell Cammy that put us behind? Then we also lost at Pittodrie. Anyway it was the end of a era and by far the most fond memories I have of Rangers. Advocaat came in and built a scary team who were a match for most in Europe. Only Valencia outclassed us but they went onto the CL final that season. We were better than Munich, Parma and PSV and were so unlucky not to progress that season. But then Advocaat lost it. He sold off our whole midfield. 2 players wanted to leave (Gio and Reyna) but 2 were Rangers through and through and wanted to stay (Albertz and Tugay). They were replaced with Nerlinger who got the Ibrox injury jink straight away, an aging duo of Latapy and Caniggia. But we had no solid midfielders and we have struggled with this positions since that days. Il jump to the present now and Smith in his 2nd spell has his work cut out. This summer is going to be huge, bigger than last, to see if Smith gets the backing of Murray and a bit of cash to spend. Smith has practically sorted the defence out but the keeper, midfield and forward positions are still in free fall and are probably at the lowest standard I have ever seen - infact no probably about it. Signing average SPL players like Gow, Thomson and Broadfoot is not filling me with any confidence but I think they may be ok for squad players as long as a few quality players come in during the summer. Smith did this at the back with Weir and Ehiogu, they are a pretty decent standard. But a 3rd season without a trophy or not even getting close to one wont be tolerated.- 7 replies

Man U go to the new Wembley for the cup final. I wonder if it will be the dream final for the organisers with Chelsea or will Blackburn cause an upset today!! I think the old sticky fingers were used for the draw to try and get a Man U v Chelsea final. I hope Chelsea beat Blackburn today as it will be a awesome match. And it would be even better if they had the CL final a few days later. Plus the league game is in May, we could have 3 Man U v Chelsea games in 2 weeks to decide the 3 trophies.

18 years ago!! Unbelievable! RIP to those who suffered that day

Again il have to disagree on that point. I just cant see how BF will ever be as good as Gazza for Rangers. I just think back to April 1996 when Gazza clinched us 8IAR with that hat trick against Aberdeen. The 2nd goal where he ran from his own half was awesome and something only a Gascoigne or Laudrup could do. You may have a point here. Gazza lost it when it came to europe and was always too fired up for the occassion most noticebly Ajax away. But thats a mental problem and nothing to do with ability. I still remember Gazza turning it on against Steau Buchurest and scoring another individual classic. Yes i can agree there. When Ferguson was in the team of 99-2000 he was very impressive. But now he goes about his job different and tries to do too much which is part of his downfall IMO. As Pete says less can be more.

No Cammy said he thought Ferguson could be as good as Gazza etc. The bit about Gazza was that he thought Ferguson was one of the better players he had played with. It was maybe an over reaction from me to say it was the worst post ever but its one i strongly disagree with. I think Ferguson has had 1 season with 19 goals out of 7 or 8 years.
