They way I was looking at it mate was Id rather take McCulloch and a few million spare for others than Brown.
-
I wont comment on Bain - he is appalling. Anyway, Brown may go onto better things but without hindsight we dont know this. Id be reluctent to take him for 4 million and give him Klos' wages in the hope he could make us a profit. I couldnt see any EPL club coming in the a 6 million pound offer for him in a year or 2. The EPL clubs hold the SPL clubs to ransom over players these days. If Celtic want to come in and hi-jack the likes of Hartley, Riordan and McDonald they are welcome to them - they have done us a favour IMO - and if they want to pay over the odds for Brown then fair enough - its a gamble. They have Lemmon, Gravesen and Jarosik leaving and Nakamura might get an offer from down south he cant refuse and all of a sudden they are weak in midfield. BTW the Langfield offer is a joke, if we got him it would be the most embarrasing signing in a long time. Letizi looks like Buffon compared to him.

I hope the McCulloch deal gets tied up ASAP. I like him as a player. He is a strong left sided player and can easy play upfront aswell. If we get him we have him and Adam on the left and gives us cover for a position we have struggled for years. He wasnt out of place in the EPL so should take the SPL by storm and I think will easy get 10+ goals in a season. Id prefer McCulloch ahead of Scott Brown.
-
Same as most the lads - never saw him play but was aware of him. RIP
-
I have a sneeky feeling for Espanyol aswell, but dont give a monkeys who wins. I suppose Sevilla may deserve a trophy as they have done well this season. I want the team to win whose supporters are sat in the traditional Rangers end of the ground
-
I fancy Sunderland to do pretty well but dont like Keane. Birmingham should get a wad of cash so will be around 15th. I think Southampton or Derby may keep up with 16th. IF West Ham get docked points then Sheff Utd will go down.
-
Aye Wigan, Bolton and possibly Fulham for the drop next season
-
Are you drunk today? :uzi:
-
I said this at the start of this season and it didnt surface but thats due to injuries and not playing him in that position we all want. I want him to stay
-
5 million - Not a chance!!! When Blackburn can get Benni McCarthy for 2.5 mill who is a champions league winner and scores 16 goals in the EPL, Brown is hardly worth double that. He needs to go onto the next stage from Hibs. He has done a good job for them but his next move will show how good a player he is. Damion Duff and William Gallas were also 5 million pound players this season.

Do you want this thread locked Juff??
-
I read the BBC rumour page everyday and about 3% of the stories actually happen
-
As mentioned I cant see this being concrete and its far too high a fee.
-
I cant keep up with all the moves and rumours. Newcastle - Glenn "soor face" Roeder out / Sam "I want a break" Allardyce In Man Shity - Stuart "im a tosser "Pearce out / Mark Hughes In??? Sven In??? Jewell In??? Houllier In??? Bolton - Sam "I want a break" Allardyce out / Sammy "I'll last 2 mins" Lee In Fulham - Chris "Cookie" Coleman out / Lawrie Sanchez In Wigan - Paul Jewell out / Chris "Who" Hutchings In Next.............
-
I Dont believe this at all! If he stays in Scotland he will be a Gers.
-
Injury prone and moody but when he wants to play he is a handful of a striker and most EPL teams would take him. I remember he scored all 4 against Liverpool about 5 years ago in that awesome game. But cant see him coming to Ibrox although I would welcome it.
-
Long term I agree with this but we cant get rid of that much players as the squad is thin as it is already and we would need to get about 10 players in after that. I dont think Walter wants to totally rebuild a new team altogether. The problem with letting Buffel go is will we get a creative player in return from somewhere? As Gav says if we can get consistancy out of him and play him as the the link between midfield and strikers then he could still do a job. Id keep McGregor but take in a better keeper and have AM on the bench.
-
Yeah id like to see him or Gough being brought in this summer. I also want to see him get away from Sheff U and Warnock, he has more to offer.
-
Wright was good at Ipswich but totally lost it at Arsenal and has been poor at Everton. He needs to prove himself at his next club.
-
I think its an act when he is in front of the cameras. I dont like him coz he is so anti Scottish, and remember when he refused to shake the Scottish players hands at Euro 96.
-
Aye!! He is a creepy old bassa is he!! Im sure Jewell quit coz the old boy fanices him. But Warnock is even more annoying.
-
Great great striker in his day and one of the EPLs better finishers over the years with some great goals for Leeds and Chelsea. Im sure a few will mention that we could move in for him but id say Jimmy is finished. He could probably still do a job in the SPL coz he is physical but I cant see it.
-
Jewells assistant Chris Hutchings gets the job full time http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/6654861.stm Cant see him lasting long.
-
Not a surprise. He started off well but it turned pair shape and Man City went from a good attacking team to dull and boring. I dont like him anyway so :uzi: Do City want to hijack Newcastles talks with Allardyce!!! If he chose Man City he wouldnt have to move house etc....and City are potentially as big as Newcastle and may have the cash to spend.
-
Yeah but did they actually play while illegal as they didnt feature early in the season? Confusing one and the in's and out's havent really been made clear. The Mascherano one is double confusing coz he moved to Liverpool - who did they pay for him? Who owns him? But as far as West Ham are concerned they did things what they thought were legal. Plus Magnasson and Curbishley inherited this so its unlucky that the chairman has to cough up the money.
