  1. I definatly wont be watching. They played 3 years ago and it was utter shite. My only hope is history repeats itself, Dunfermline last won the cup 39 years ago and they were also relegated that season. If the Pars play like they did a few weeks ago they might give Celtic a game, and I have a sneaky feeling they could get a result. Im going to back my winnings from midweek on Dunfermline to win the cup. But the good news is that we will be back at Hampden next year to lift the cup. Symetry (sp) and patterns are coming into football a lot just now. To name a few: (Chelsea last winners of FA cup at old wembley / first winners at new) (Liverpool first and last winners at Cardiff) (Milan CL winners 03, losers 05, winners 07) So Rangers last cup final apprearance 2003 - winners The following year was Celtic v Dunfermline final then 3 years later the same sides meet (today) which means Gers back at Hampden next year.
  2. Yeah agree with the comments above. If we do have a "link" then hopefully something surfaces this time rather than the Northern Spirit / Chinese thing. Lets get there promising youngsters across on loan and vice versa. The US game is on the up with Beckham going across and there seems to be a surge in fat cats buying out UK clubs. As long as they stick to the current set up and dont think that long term they can merge the european game with the major league then Ive no problem with it.
  3. Fair play to Gow he played a day after learning his grandfather passed away! He certainly would have been out to impress and would have been putting in a 200% shift. I posted on another thread the other day, he is the only bosman I have a good feeling about, I think he can be a good vertisle player for us. He reminds me of a old fashioned scottish winger.
  4. Id be disappointed to miss out on him but if they are asking silly money then we arent going to go down the same route as Celtic. Id pay 1.8 million tops for him.
  5. Its not the team id go with even if its a friendly. Davie Weir is 37 and been great for us but the last thing he needs is to be risked in a friendly when we could be trying out a different partnership. He needs a good rest over the summer. Svensson may play ok as it wont be a rough and tumble SPL match. Id have went (on the basis Hemdani is available): _______________McGregor_____________ Hutton____Svensson___Webster____Murray ______Ferguson___Hemdani___Thomson__ _______Novo______Boyd______Gow_____
  6. Yeah thats the difference between the teams - we are more complacent. They never give up against the smaller teams and always nick a last minute goal whereas we have struggled. Man for man we are as good as them - I think the last 2 OF games showed that regardless if the league was won.
  7. Yeah I stuck a tener on Milan to win 2-1 at 8/1 - that was the only bet i chose aswell The goals couldnt have panned out better!! It was a better game than the FA cup final but Milans passing and giving away possesion was shocking. Kaka couldnt really get into the game. As soon as he got the free kick right on half time it had goal written all over it. As you say Gav, Zenden was shocking, i used to like him as a player but he was out of his depth, and kewell obviously isnt fit. I think Benetiez got his tactics wrong, Milan were there for the taken and he should have had Gerrard in midfield rather than playing off the striker. I think Bellamy would have ruffled milan. But im happy, i wanted AC to win. The ticket allocation was shocking. The ground holds 63,000 and both clubs got 17,000. But 6,000 of Liverpools tickets went to corporate members - shocking!!

I used to think he was good at Derby, but too old now. But him at his peak would have been a decent signing.
  9. Had a look at the prices, I fancy: 2-1 to Milan 7/1 Draw half time / Milan Full time 4/1 Draw full time / Milan to win in extra time 8/1
  10. I was bored this morning so I listened to a repeat of that twat Jim Traynors call in, the first caller was quite good for a change stating what a waste Hampden can be at times and the capacity should be bigger. He also stated why the French, Irish and Welsh have fantastic stadiums and use them both for Rugby and football but Scotland cant use Murrayfield. A later caller came on and said he was at the UEFA final and the CL final in 2002 and both occassion were superb and the atmospheres were great. No doubt Hampden can get a good atmosphere on occassion and I actually quite like the place but I do think they should have made the stadium a big bigger towards 70,000 especially for the likes of OF cup finals. The agrument is what happens when For example Dunfermline play Motherwell in a semi final - but they cant get 15,000 in hampden anyway so these type of ties should be played at Tynecastle etc.
  11. I know its ridiculous how fast time is going! I was in Baku! Anyway, il have a wee flutter on something but not sure yet. I want and think Milan will win. I hope Rino shows Gerrard how much a kitten he really is. I also just want a good game and hope its not a chess match like the FA cup final. Milan and Liverpool both have strong midfields so it could be the same but i hope not. Yesterday that Englishman-wannabe Alan Hansen stated in his BBC collum that "Liverpool WILL win the champions league on wednesday" - I hope Milan win to ram the middle finger up him. C'mon AC
  12. I knew one of them was Danish. Jon - Norweignen?? :fish:
  13. Put a sticky in every room for a few days to try and get a bit more. We have about 25 consistant posters who should reply.

  15. Are they not Danish?? And i think there is a Randers FC aswell, arent they Greek or Polish??
  16. Yeah agreed, the bottom 2 in the SPL should go down or at least the 2nd bottom team has play off with Div 1 team. I used to also think the Highland league should have promotion aswell just like the conference in england.
  17. Winner only. Nobody remembers the runner up Are you taking results from PM or email?

  19. Spurs are the latest team to show interest in Gordon.
  20. League Cup - Out at home to Div 1 team St Johnstone. Scottish Cup 3rd round - Out to relegated Dunfermline. Well below average for Rangers
  21. Konchesky would be a steal at 600k. He is a really good LB. He is solid as a rock and gets up and down the left side. He was West Ham regular in the return season to the EPL when West ham finished 9th and on verge of England call up to World Cup last year. Only reason he is being shipped out of West Ham is because he had a fall out with Curbishley when they were both at Charlton over his move to Upton Park, so when Curbs came to West Ham he dropped Konchesky stright away. Id be surprised if a few Premiership clubs didnt come in for him. I like Stevie Smith as a LB and agreed that he should be LB as he came through the ranks, but i woulnt say no to Konchesky.
  22. Yeah agree with this. If Buffel is moving on then we need someone to come in and replace him. I still think Buffel could be a key player for us. Id like to see Sebo stay aswell and be given a chance to justify that price tag - again I think he could do it. He has strength and pace, he just needs to add a goal. Svensson can move on but he will do well in another league somewhere. But Smith seems to have covered the centre half positions well this season but looks like he isnt satisfied and Cuellar and Webster will come in.
  23. Hughes is another player i totally forgot about, he was far too lightweight which was his main downfall. It would be a good move for Gavin Rae. As for Naismith, 1.5 million will trigger a move (its in his contract) with Rangers, Aston Villa and Bristol City (bizarre one) showing interest.
  24. Im kinda glad Gow is playing. He deserves a place ahead of those who decided to take there summer early, just after the OF game. He will give 110% and be trying to impress. I dont know what it is, I havent been a fan of signing SPL players, but he is the only one I have slight hope for who might do us a decent job in the SPL.
  25. After the split its still 1 division regardless - i.e. The SPL. There isnt a SPL 1 or 2 after the split. But agree with Malky, ive also said 4 divisions with 44 clubs is just wrong. There has been a few fairytales with Gretna and Livingston coming through the leagues in recent times but it just shows that the rest (older clubs) will be there for good. Merging teams is one way I think the game would improve. Id start with reducing it to 3 leagues again as it gives teams that extra incentive. SPL should have 16 teams and 14 in the other 2. But traditionalists wont merge, they hate the idea. They would rather see crowds of 243 at a Cowdenbeath v Alloa game than boost this towards the four figures. Between Aberdeen and Dundee there are 4 minor clubs - Montrose, Arbroath, Brechin and Forfar - thats ridiculous having them as Professional clubs. They should all merge and be called Angus Utd. Given time and once pride was out of the way all the tradionalists would realise this was the right move. Why is it that every fan, pundit, player, manager and even the media all over the place can see how bad the Scottish game is but nothing gets done about it and those jokers at the SFA still make a mockery of the game. It needs football men at the top.
