  1. I think those who are saying Adam should be first pick are over reacting. If we look at his overall season then he has been absolute mince in certain games. Granted, he has popped up with a few decent performances of late and weighed in with his fair share of goals, but if we are to improve as a team then he must be at the top of HIS game EVERY week and thats after he has improved as a player. Id keep him in the squad though as back up to our new left sided player - whoever that will be.

I dont think we need yet another defender. I know Weir and Ehiogu are getting on a bit but with Svensson, Webster, Broadfoot and Papac we are more than covered.
  3. Bit of a silly comment to suggest people would think like that, pure timmy mentality
  4. Enjoyable read Cammy, I was only 9 that season but remember those games well - Especially the OF wins and Mel Sterland scoring the first 2 against Hearts at Ibrox. IIRC you missed out the last OF game of the season (april 89) when we won at Parkhead for the first time in 7 years. Ian Ferguson blasted a 20 yard free kick which bounced off the bar and then a scramble between Bonnar and McCoist resulted in one winner - Ally stumbling the ball over the net!!! BTW agreed about Gary Stevens, we havent had a RB in his class since. We have been blesses with Davie Robertson and Arthur Numan at LB but nothing close to Stevens at RB. But the way Hutton is playing now.......
  5. Good post Mike, and it will all depend on who is heading out the door along with the ones we already know about. IMO we should be signing a keeper. Who, I dont know, but id take Dudek on a free transfer if we could get him. Id be a little surprised if Papac left now though as I think he could be a regular next season. It will be a tough choice between him and Smith for RB if Papac continues to improve on recent games. But at centre half we are covered enough if Webster signs and Svensson stays. Can Ian Murray play RB? Thats the only position we really need cover for in defence. Hutton has been immense this year but we need cover for him. I think Ian Murray may be surplus to requirements as he is isnt going to get neat the starting XI, he will be 3rd choice LB, 6th choice CH and about 7th choice midfielder. I hope Buffel stays unless we get an equivalent type of player. I hope we get Scott Brown, Lee McCulloch and another striker.

    Welcome Thread

His award was "funny" as in "queer" mate
  7. Thats something else in this day and age.
  8. Im pretty pleased with that. I used to get him mixed up with Nonda of Blackburn whom we were linked with a while back also. Anyway that adds much needed fire power upfront and the fact we got him on a bosman is a huge boost. I wonder who his strike partner will be
  9. Prso and Hemdani would be his best signings IMO. Boumsong was a good bit of business aswell.
  10. If you put that in then you gotta have the carbon copy from Henry against Spurs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBYEr46qe8Q
  11. Aye thats the one mate, i thought that was amazing to watch. But goal of the season by a mile is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwJjcvg3rIg And this from Patrick Berger against Charlton was amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-Rw2mhWU-0 Also Blackburn had a couple of screamers earlier this season from tugay and Pederson.
  12. To be fair you have a point but they still dont excite me and I wanted higher profile signings, however they will be judged once they kick a ball and have had a fair chance and not just 10 minutes. I wouldnt say McGregor and Adam have came through with flying colours. McGregor has done a really decent job but has still flapped over the season, but he seems to be improving at a slow rate. Adam is hot and cold. When he is good as of late he can score goals and thats vital from midfield. but when he is poor he is absolute rank. I still think he is no more than a squad player. Top marks to Smith and Hutton. At the start of the season it was Smith who had all the potential but Hutton has blown him away of late (due to Smiths injury) and IMO Hutton deserves a new contract.
  13. Spot on analysis Cammy. And so right about Sebo, as soon as he came on the pitch I shouted "c'mon Sebo, gives a goal". I think if he had a further 15 mins he would have scored. Actually his best chance was just after his first effort when Ferguson was about to put him clean through 1 on 1 but some mhank intercepted the ball. I think he should stay next season. I believe if he hits the net once he could be off and running. He has the potential to assist also as he can run at defenders and lay it off for Boyd. Agree the goals were potentially saveable but we deserved them and if that game had finished 0-0 it would have been a farce.

...And again followed by a 13 year contract on 55k a week....signed sealed and injured!
  15. Its not a testimonial match so we should be playing a strong team. Granted Prso and Klos deserve a send off and Gavin Rae can get a clap while warming up then maybe on for the last 5 mins. Its a shame klos has a dislocated thumb but its a bit of a coincidence aswell. But its a massive blow if Prso cant make it but im sure he could still do a lap of honour at half time. Its maybe a chance to try a 3-5-2 with Hutton out. Id play: ________________McGregor_____________ _________Weir____Ehiogu____Papac____ __________Hemdani___Thomson________ ___Novo________Ferguson_____Adam___ _____________Sebo____Boyd___________
  16. For lazy Gav
  17. He is right though, we havent won anything except a bit of pride back. The guys should take a bit of confidence with this unbeaten run and we need to get out of the blocks from the first game next season.
  18. Great thread lads, this will be great for boredom we should have done it earlier. Il get a few good goals up later, I want that solo Ajax goal from last year but cant remember the name of the guy. Was is Ibrahimavic??
  19. Yeah agree with the opening post. Hemdani strolls through games. Ive said it for a few months now but if he had 2 extra yards of pace I think he would be a top club in a bigger league. I dont think he needs to improve on his game as im happy with what he does and id like to see a creative player in the team but i would like to see him shoot a bit more as he has proved he can score from outside the box. He pips Hutton to my POTY as he has been consistant all season, but Hutton wasnt far behind him for his performances this calender year.
  20. Not only was a header from Laudrup a one-off but Charlie Miller crossing a ball like that with his left foot (to quote Smith after the game) Its so hard to think that was 10 years ago, I remember going into school the next day for my last day of school in 6th year and I did absolutely no work what so ever and just walked round the school singing "9IAR 9IAR....." Memories that will never be forgotten and always seem like yesterday.
  21. Nice one Frankie, As someone said its just the forum that could be done with a few more regular posters, but if all the current regulars dig deep Im sure we can attract "guests" to post.
  22. Agreed on that. He looks like he should be selling fruit on a fruit stall in Londons east end. But even then you'd buy your oranges from the next stall. His is nowhere near good enough for a club the size of Newcastle. But the whole thing stinks, we all know Allardyce likes a bung or 2 so its poor that he quit Bolton with prior knowledge that he was to get the Newcastle job. I expect Bolton to be shite next season BTW.
  23. I could never work out why they never came to Ibrox for the game!!
  24. I watched the Rangers v Celtic game and bits of the Hearts v Aberdeen game yesterday and Crockers voice just does my head in something silly, it goes right through me. It has no tone to it and his accent just isnt right for an SPL game. As for Tott Booth he is the biggest panzy ever to play football. They shouldnt have got rid of Jock Brown and Mark Hateley. Good commentators are few and far between these days. It could be worse we could have that dummy from the BBC Paul Mitchell - he is the most depressing guy on earth. Peter Brackley who used to do Football Italia on Ch4 would be a good addition or the boy on BBC radio scotland David Begg is pretty decent.

Im happy he got the goal but just scoring one goal doesnt change my opinion on him. Apart from the goal he did nothing, but Sebo gets slated and he came on and had 2 or 3 good runs at the Celtic defence. I still think Sebo is the better all round player but he just needs to find the net. I also still want to see them play upfront together for a run of games.
