The cable channel here is showing the Mhanks Reserves v Mhanks game. Anyone got a link to watch the game?

6th place Hibs cant catch 7th placed Falkirk. The SPL must scrap this joke of a split.

Far too many rumours flying around! Cuellar, Andy Todd etc etc how many centre halfs!! Smith is shrewd and denies almost everything, probably coz he has identified his targets but isnt sure if Bain can negociate with half of them.

I'll repeat Scott Brown is no world beater and has been transfered for a silly amount. What has he done to merit the same price tag as William Gallas? He would have fitted nicely into our midfield because we need a creative type player who can fill in on the right. But its no serious loss IMO. There are SURELY better out there for that kinda money. I can see the chant "What a waste of money" being chanted a few times next season.

Yeah agree Stewarty, but you have to wonder WHY all these players in the past 3-4 years have came to Rangers and just purely flopped. Most of them came with pretty decent backgrounds and did fairly good jobs at previous clubs and even at International level. Are they just not getting a chance of a run of games? Is the Scottish game that bad and difficult to adapt to? Do they see Rangers as an easy target to make money? Rather than dwell on the flops of the McLeish era, il look at at the ones we currently have and put Buffel in - Svensson, Sebo, Sionko and Buffel! These are 4 international players who came to the club with promise but turned sour overnight. Something isnt right - so many players just cant go off the boil for no reason. I look at Hemdani who everyone thought was going to be another name in the flop scrapbook but he has come good in his 2nd year and ended up being out POTY.

I think Calscot is correct, Rino and Ferguson both came in under Smith. Ferguson definatly got his debut under Smith against DUFC IIRC in 97/98 season. I like Juffreys idea of having some set up with another league to loan players to. You always hear of clubs making ties with other clubs but nothing ever seems to surface - ie what happened to our chinese cousins who played in orange?? Its a marketing stategy at times. If Lennon is good enough then he is old enough and he should play for the first team. But if not and Smith feels he needs a bit of experience then he should go on loan for a month or 2 down south then a month or 2 at a club like Morton then it should be review after that.

Adam shows signs that he could be useful but after the summer transfers he should be a squad player unless he totally improves in the way Hutton has. Hutton should be a prime example to Adam, Boyd, Burke and a few others.
-
When did we get linked to Carlos Cuellar? Another Centre half?? BTW Gav, I dont think the average age is high. We had a really young squad at the start of this season which needed a few older heads.

Good read Frankie, I actually wonder which direction we would have taken had Murray not come in, and would we have got 9IAR? We had the bases of a good side back then although we did have a few ageing players. But he is making a balls up of things at the moment by not defending the fans and selling off Club assets to his own companies. But one thing he should be applauded on is getting the debt from 83 mill to 10. Yes he was neglegent in getting us in debt in the first place but we could have went like Leeds (who had the same amount of debt) or even worse, but we still managed 2 titles. We are still feeling the after effects of this but we may manage a title charge next season. But this summer will be key!!

Bramble and Bernard have to be 2 of the biggest imposters in football - they are super shit. Moore was good for us but it all ended up pair shaped. Newcastle have ruined his career as they can be poison with that dressing room. Hopefully he gets a decent club somewhere. No doubt West Ham will sign all 3 as 12 defenders doesnt seem to be enough for Curbishley at the moment

Well Im not bothered at all, I never really wanted either player from Hibs for there price. I just hope Thomson comes good for us. But this price for Brown (who sounds a right mink BTW) is laughable. He is not worth half that. And i read on the BBC they are supposed to be following it up with a 4 million bid for some polish dude - throwing money away!!

Id say toasted cheese. Anyway Warnock is a wank-bag of the highest order and Sheff Utd are back where they belong. Who in the EPL is going to employ him? Wigan may have done or they might when there new boy gets the sack but he is in the same league as Ian Dowie - Championship standard!

All that on top of 35-90 quid for "official" match ticket plus the Man U fans have transport from the north - thats absolutely terrible. 4.50 for a fuckin pie!!!! Each team got 35,000 fans which meant a full 20,000 (size of an average stadium) goes to fat cats, media etc etc - After half time there was spaces for about 10 mins with people eating there prawn sandwiches and not returning for the K/off - i find that disgusting as real fans should be in there.

Aye Robson is pish. He is over here quite a lot being a pundit and the "nobody's" who are presenters and pundits of the footy here look at him like he is god. Good luck to McCall, pity he never came to Ibrox.

The "fixed" cup final was absolute rank in the first half that got a bit better in the 2nd half. It was 2 knackered teams and im glad they arent playing in the CL final on wed or we would get the same again with players getting cramp all over the place. Giggs goal should have stood, if not why didnt the ref give Cech a free kick. But my prediction of Draw after 90 mins but chelsea to lift the cup came up.

Until he is proven at a higher league or international level the price tag is silly. For all we know he could have been another Eoin Jess who did well in the SPL but failed miserably in England. If Brown went down south then I really couldnt imagine him make a massive impact at a club, at very best he would be like James McFadden (although Mcfadden is player i like). He seems to find the SPL pretty easy but how will he get on in Europe while playing in a team with no Lennon, Gravensen, Jarosik and possibly Nakamura (if he gets on offer he cant refuse) TBH I was never keen on taking both Brown and Thomson but would have preferred Brown for the right side of the team. But maybe im being slightly naive as I havent seen that much of him this season, ive only seen about 6 or 7 of Hibs games on TV and they were against us and Hearts. The game thats stands out is our 3-0 win when Barry ferguson played him off the park. So i would have valued him at 2 million tops with a further 1.5 million depending on appreances. 4.4 million is crazy.

Newcastle are the biggest underachievers in England. They have a massive support and seemingly endless cash but the dressing room has been rife with problems since Keegan left (or Shearer joined). They have chopped and changed managers and none of them were ever settled. I feel they have always needed a big proven name. I think they have that in Allardyce although he hasnt managed at the top but he has taken Bolton to a top 6 team in the Premiership in the last few years and thats a superb job. This is his chance and I think he will do well and they will be a top 6 club again.

They way I was looking at it mate was Id rather take McCulloch and a few million spare for others than Brown.
-
I wont comment on Bain - he is appalling. Anyway, Brown may go onto better things but without hindsight we dont know this. Id be reluctent to take him for 4 million and give him Klos' wages in the hope he could make us a profit. I couldnt see any EPL club coming in the a 6 million pound offer for him in a year or 2. The EPL clubs hold the SPL clubs to ransom over players these days. If Celtic want to come in and hi-jack the likes of Hartley, Riordan and McDonald they are welcome to them - they have done us a favour IMO - and if they want to pay over the odds for Brown then fair enough - its a gamble. They have Lemmon, Gravesen and Jarosik leaving and Nakamura might get an offer from down south he cant refuse and all of a sudden they are weak in midfield. BTW the Langfield offer is a joke, if we got him it would be the most embarrasing signing in a long time. Letizi looks like Buffon compared to him.
-
I hope the McCulloch deal gets tied up ASAP. I like him as a player. He is a strong left sided player and can easy play upfront aswell. If we get him we have him and Adam on the left and gives us cover for a position we have struggled for years. He wasnt out of place in the EPL so should take the SPL by storm and I think will easy get 10+ goals in a season. Id prefer McCulloch ahead of Scott Brown.
-
Same as most the lads - never saw him play but was aware of him. RIP
-
I have a sneeky feeling for Espanyol aswell, but dont give a monkeys who wins. I suppose Sevilla may deserve a trophy as they have done well this season. I want the team to win whose supporters are sat in the traditional Rangers end of the ground
-
I fancy Sunderland to do pretty well but dont like Keane. Birmingham should get a wad of cash so will be around 15th. I think Southampton or Derby may keep up with 16th. IF West Ham get docked points then Sheff Utd will go down.
-
Aye Wigan, Bolton and possibly Fulham for the drop next season
