Yeah agreed. Imagine the difference of pressance that these ex players would make on the targets rather than sun-tan boy turning up. Why Laudrup and Numan have never been approached for any role at Ibrox is beyond me, they ooze class on and off the pitch. But these guys are probably too honest for the job.

When I read the opening title I thought we were going to be warned from UEFA Anyway I havent seen enough of him to say he is worth 1.5 million but I find it hard to believe he would be worth that or Arsenal would have snapped him up long ago then punted him on for a profit. Im not saying he isnt a good player but Im not confident about taking yet another SPL player. This means we could have the other half of the "mighty Kilmarnocks" strike duo as our forward line next season - Boyd and Naismith - with Falkirks utility player as our creative player and I cant see us making an impact in Europe with that. Id much rather be reading about trying to agree terms with Koevermans and the likes. The better players like Ferguson, Weir, Hemdani, Hutton and possibly Darcheville will yet again make the difference between the SPL and get us a top 2 finish but we need better than this - surely we can all see that. We have Prso leaving so we should be searching high and low for an equivalent.

We are still in there with a really decent chance of making it through this group. So far we have won 5 and lost 2. The 2 defeats were in Ukraine and Italy so they werent places where we expected wins. A point in Ukraine would have made a lot of difference but we were poor on the night. So we have to look forward to our remaining 5 games and take them all like cup finals. 3 of them are at Hampden so we must get the ground rocking like previous matches against Germany, Holland, Italy and France in recent times. Id love to get a place in the top 2 at the expence of the arrogant French but we may need them to do us a favour and go on and run away with the group and take points off Italy and Ukraine. They have a slight lead so that could be the best way. We should have everyone fit for the double header in September. IMO Big Eck must bring Hutton into the team ahead of the poor Alexandra and he has to change Weir's partner at the back. Id personally put Pressley in if he is fully fit against Lithuania but play 3 at the back in Paris to frustrate them and get a point. Barry Ferguson will miss the Lithuania game due to a booking against the Faroes but one wonders if that was meant so he is free to play in Paris. But our midfield options will be good for the rest of the campaign. We have Ferguson, Quashie, Fletcher, Hartley, MuCulloch, Brown, Thomson, Maloney, McFadden all going for 4 or 5 places. Our remaining fixtures are: 8th Sept: Lithuania (H) 12th Sept: France (A) 13th Oct: Ukraine (H) 17th Oct: Georgia (A) 17th Nov: Italy (H) It looks tricky on paper but if we take 1 game at a time its a bit easier. We should beat Lithuania at home if we play good enough. France away is the sort of game we would have written off but they have only beaten Georgia 1-0 last night at home and we should go there and frustrate the hell out of them. They were disrepectful after we beat them 1-0 by saying "we'll who qualifys at the end and where Scotland will be". 0-0 would be great. Ukraine at home is the key fixture should we beat Lithuania. A fired up team and stadium should be enough for another 3 points. Georgia away is a potential banana skin but if we are going there win a chance of qualifying we can get something. Then we will become the unofficial world champs on Nov 17 I believe we can finish in the top 2 but its going to take one mamoth effort from Mcleish and our lads. CMON SCOTLAND

I'll just add you missed out McFadden there SA. But a win is a win and il take that result all day long despite the performance. The way we have to look at it is it was a awkward place to play and at the end of a long season. I didnt see the game but reading SA's post the side maybe needs a few changes for the next match when everyone is fit. Fergie will miss the next match but Quashie, Brown, McCulloch and McFadden will all return and Thomson may even get into the squad. At the back Pressley and Anderson should be fit. Im am just pleading we beat Lithuania at Hampden in Sept. If we win that then we are close as France play in Italy on that day. I suppose we want the French to win as id rather fancy our chances beating Italy at Hampden than the French in Paris.

Yeah But id have still had Hutton in for Alexander. The reason i put Hartley in the centre was to do a bit of tough tackling and ball winning while Fletcher can get on the ball in the wide positions, but either or is ok.

Ok straight swap in my team, Maloney in for McCulloch. 2-0 the Scots, C'mon!!

Discriminatory Singing Sanctions ââ?¬â?? Still no Clarity
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
This will never work, as Cammy says every team in the country will get docked points. But it will be interesting to see "What" and "Who" gets pulled up as every teams support must be on a even playing field. It seems like the best solution would be to have sound proof glass built over every stand in the country so the fans can just watch the game only and its silent on the pitch. What gets me is the Non-SPL clubs are so hypocritical (sp) as they moan and complain about everything the OF sing, yet if we didnt accept away tickets for a season the clubs would miss out on the pay day plus the only games their fans want to see.- 44 replies

Thats a great kick off time for you lot to just sit back at work then head to the nearest pub. The Faroes will make it difficult like the did for Italy but I dont care if we win 1-0 I just want a win to keep us in touch, as the others will take points off each other at some point. We have drew on our last 2 trips there 2-2 and 1-1. I cant remember the 1-1 in 1999 but i certainly remember the shocking 2-2 a few years ago. Ive no idea who is fit, we seem to have a huge injury list but il have a bash at this team even though McLeish wont play it. ________________Gordon______________ Hutton_____Weir_____McManus___Naysmith Fletcher____Hartley____Ferguson___McCulloch ____________OConnor___Boyd___________ I was tempted to put Maloney on the right with Fletcher in the middle but Hartley has that bit of graft we will need in the middle. Obviously Quashie and Brown are out so thats the 4 id go with. I was also tempted to put Maloney upfront with O Connor for his pace and skill to get in behind the defence early on and set the tone of the game. But I wouldnt be at all surprised if McLeish plays Dailly as the holding midfield and Alexander will play at RB ahead of the in form Hutton

And I'll 3rd that motion. But i hope this is silly season again, we need a bigger and better keeper

200k then another 200k was a bit low. Id say 450k then same again depending on apprearances was fair. Marlon Harewood and Hayden Mullins are both allowed to leave West Ham, id love to see both them at Ibrox, they are 2 players who would fit straight into out team.

No Pictures Frankie?

Add Fowler, Quashie and Koevermans to the list, I think they have some weight behind them. But Im hoping the Langfield and Barry Robson rumours a joke. However thats all rumours, its only Darcheville, Gow and Broadfoot who are official. Hopefully we get everything sorted by June so all the new guys link up for Pre season in July.
-
Juve are a bigger attraction than Man City. Latest rumour for Man City job is Souness although id maybe back a fiver on Sven getting it.
-
This has to be the reason but I agree with it. I wouldnt pay it unless he was proven that he can make the step up, so this down payment along with the same again on appearance money would be fair IMO. We should never pay over the odds for any player these days never mind SPL players.
-
Murray Park is only Murray park IF the players use it correctly. So far a lot of the squad have been lazy and are probably taking it for granted. Unless Murray is charging them a few bucks entry fee.
-
Man I hope that is a total bollocks rumour. If we went for Robson we might as well sign Jamie Langfield aswell and push for 5th place next season.
-
Quashie hasnt had a good season with West Ham and was injured for the last few months. He is a player i kinda like and I wanted him last season as an emergency choice but I think we could get a bit better now. But he would be a strong signing and wouldnt do any harm for the SPL at all. Id be happy either way with Quashie.
-
Id take Mido. He was great in his first season at Spurs. Cant believe anyone would knock him back compared to our current options but really cant see him being linked. Id still want Koevermans more though.
-
Yeah and UEFA rumours are saying they will award Sweden a 3-0 victory. Buggar for Northern Ireland if true
-
Italy the jammy bassa's only win 2-1 in Faroes and the french got 2 second half goals against Ukraine which puts us 4th. We need to win in Faroes then beat Lithuania at Hampden in our next game then we could be in with a great chance. England are in a bit of trouble with Croatia, Israel and Russia all winning last night. They are 5 behind Croatia and 3 behind the others. I had a treble on: Belarus to beat Bulgaria (they lost 2-0) Bosnia to beat Turkey (they won 3-2) Draw between Denmark and Sweden which was abandoned in the 89th min at 3-3. If Belarus had won id of been screaming with that Denmark game.

Derby can have Burke but id rather keep Sebo. Unless they want to have him on a months loan to get him fully match fit. No thanks to Dickov, he is a battler who will ruff up defences but isnt he 33 or 34?
-
Aye I know that, I was saying the first time I went to Ibrox when he was there was the United game. That was around September / October 1994. I said Debut Season in the post not debut. I remember the opening day of the season against Motherwell (2-1 win, Hateley and Ferguson ) and watching that on Scotsport the next day and I couldnt believe his run from our own box to lay it off to Ferguson, I remember at the time saying I havent see anything like that in Scotland before.
-
I bet Gazza would have played in the flesh if allowed. But it was all good times going to a Gers game when these 2 were on show. Some of the stuff they used to do was breathtaking. I remember the first time I saw Laudrup at Ibrox was on his debut season against Dundee Utd in the pissing rain and he ran from half way line and he curled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box - amazing goal.
-
Wasnt our last Motherwell keeper Ally Maxwell who single handedly gifted Dundee Utd the cup in 1994 and deny us a double treble?
