  1. But with that list of strikers, surely we have to play 2 upfront!!!
  2. The best league in the world kicks off again tomorrow. I think last seasons league was the best Ive ever enjoyed. Its certainly the most Ive watched seen as I get 6 or 7 live games over the weekend. But it had everything - a top 2 chasing all season then a cracking relegation battle WHICH THE HAMMERS WON!! I think this season it will be closer. If Liverpool gel and get off to a good start then they will be a lot closer to Chelsea and Man U. Who would write off Arsenal. They are in a new era with a new team. The last of the old team (Henry and Ljungberg) have left and they have a young exciting team. The only possible problem with them is they only have 1 englishmen in there entire squad - Walcott. But I expect a good season from Arsenal if Van Persie, Gilberto, Fabregas and Gallas are fit. Spurs and Newcastle will be going for europe with Everton and possibly Villa, Blackburn and West Ham. The bottom pack will be Derby, Wigan, Fulham, Birmingham and Reading (2nd season syndrome). I can see Sunderland doing alright and joining Middlesboro, Man City, Portsmouth and Bolton in mid table. I think it will finish like this: Man Utd Chelsea Arsenal / Liverpool Tottenham Newcastle Everton Aston Villa West Ham Blackburn Portsmouth Bolton Man City Sunderland Middlesboro Fulham Reading Birmingham Wigan Derby
  3. Ahhh - One of the best threads returns!! Firstly if anyone fancies a flutter, Tip of the day HAS to be Fernando Torres to finish top scorer in the EPL - 16/1. I dont know how long that odds will stay there but it may come in if it gets some heavy punting. It worth an each way punt IMO. For the winners, Man U and Chelsea arent worth betting on but I may have a bet on Arsenal at 9/1. And Im debating betting on Newcastle and Spurs to have a top 5 finish. My early treble for tomorrow: Middlesboro v Blackburn - Draw Villa v Liverpool - Draw West Ham v Man City - home win
  4. Have to say i agree, I dont think Sebo will get a chance even though I still think he could do something for us. But the options we have are getting high: Novo Darcheville Boyd Cousin McCulloch Sebo Gow Buffel Lennon
  5. We have all done our strongers Gers XI in the past but what about just from the turn of the century: ______________Klos______________ Hutton_____Weir___Moore____Numan De Boer__Ferguson___Gio VB___Albertz __________Mols_____Prso_________

    Stongest 11?

If Smith is fit then 9 of that 11 are Scottish - very encouraging. For me, i havent seen enough of Darcheville or Whittaker and I havent even heard of Cousin until now but the best thing is the options we seem to be getting. IMO our strongest XI BASED ON CURRENT FORM is: McGregor Hutton Weir Cuellar Papac McCulloch Ferguson Thomson Beasley Boyd Novo But i still hope to see Buffel and Hemdani in that team at the top of there games (When Hemdani is on his game walks into the team) and hopefully Darcheville, Cousins and of course Sebo have enough to get in there.
  7. Hoi!!! Not at all mate. I agree 4-4-2 all the way for me. Match preview will be up soon but I wont be around to do it for the next 3 weeks.
  8. I'll have to second that. When I saw HIbs on the telly a few times last season Murphy stood out for me. Welcome to Cousins BTW
  9. No chance 1 million. He is worth 3 times that, but we would be mad to sell him unless they came in with something we couldnt refuse.
  10. Had Ryan Giggs to score first goal in Community Shield at 12/1, so up for the season already. He was playing upfront so I thought: He's never scored at Wembley and he had a goal chopped off in the Cup Final. Easy money
  11. If you park on double yellows then pretty high
  12. Eh no! I took it out of Gers videos and downloads which i posted a few months ago
  13. AMAZING - Ignore the minks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy7ApYkGEiU&mode=related&search=

    CL Draw

When I saw the draw I was glad but then I found out they were Red Star - who were a very decent side. Bit looking at the draw we got have got a lot worse - i.e. the mhanks got a nightmare and i cant see them winning - but we really should have enough for them
  16. Youd make a good school teacher But sorted!! Moved Buffel and Novo around. Ashikodi - thats the guy - sounds familiar to N'Diaye
  17. I kinda thought a few of these guys left but wasnt too sure. Who was the dude who went to Watford and scored on his debut but never played again??

    Changes?

How you getting on with Newsnow Frankie?? New season approaching, if any changes wanted lets discuss. But lets try and get the place buzzing for the next few weeks, every regular post as much as possible (relevant stuff though , so Jon we dont need another 84 pages of naked women on the totty thread - well we do actually)
  19. Wonder why BT was sacked. Seemed to be there a long time!! I know his nephew Malcolm Thomson and he is at it!!! Anyway whats wrong with Andy Goram as coach!!
  20. And maybe we'll pull out a Tunnocks caramel waffer soon and get a class signing
  21. Maloney is a bit of a Chris Burke IMO. Has talent but only on a small stage and is very inconsistant.
  22. My thoughts precisely, infact im glad we arent waisting another 1.5-2million on a suposed "SPL talent". Its time to buy proving players.
  23. So are we in better shape than last year: I know Ive missed out someone. But there is no doubt we have better depth, as to whether we are stronger thats another question. Goalkeepers: On paper my answer would be no straight away due to Klos leaving - he was world class despite no being involved for so long. Letizi was poor but he was experienced. We now have 3 average goalies IMO, 2 with fine SPL experience and 1 with big International and Premiership experience despite him being a bombscare. Defenders / Full backs - a certain yes for me. Svensson never settled and J Rod had 10 bad games for every good game. Cuellar looks like he has been in our back 4 for 5 years and Weir is a safe name on the team sheet. Midfield: Another banker yes for me as Thomson is a straight swap for Clement while McCulloch is miles better than Gavin Rae. Attacking Midfielders: Again yes, and id be tempted to put Buffel and McCullochs names in the list plus Novo and Whittaker can fill in. We easily have more depth here. Last years first picks of Burke and Adam surely have to move down the pecking order. Forward: Tough one this! We have more depth again plus others can fill in here like McCulloch, but replacing a fully fit Prso would cost us more than we have spent all summer on our new signings. So while our numbers our better that mught just pip this to being a yes but a fully fit Prso would make it in ahead of any of that strikers.
  24. He is also a Wrestler who tries to look like Jim Morrison
  25. I'll need to be convinced of this signing simply because I havent seen him play 2 million for another Hibs player Are we bank rolling them or something. Welcome to the club anyway - We did need a right sided player.
