  1. I think we'll sign a few more players but I dont expect any world beaters. It will be the likes of Cuellar and McCulloch IMO. But they both will improve the squad.

    signing rumours

McFadden would be a good signing for us. He would do a similar job to Neil McCann IMO. But the latest reject we are being linked with today is Lee Hendrie.

    signing rumours

I think it was more of a statement meaning it came from inside rather out a conversation in the dressing room. As for Bubas joke about Sproule - thats not on. He is on his way to Bristol City.

    Pre Season

Who says I was on about you?? I was maybe talking about Pete Lovenkrands going along to watch the games :fish:
  5. A definate boycott IMO. They have the cheat to raise prices to fund the building of THEIR new stand!!! Absolute sack that - can the trust take this up with RFC? The reason they have put hibs in there is probably because they play them 1st game of the season and they know the Hibs fans will be up for seeing the game. But everytime ive watched a Edinburgh derby there has been empty seats in the away end. How does it work with away tickets again anyway? Do you put bank details in with your submittion? That way if your allocated Hearts the money will be taken off your account even though you dont want to go!! Seems a strange set up.
  6. Thats decent news that Papac is staying, he did a fine job in both positions. Id punt Ian Murray at the first chance, he looked very weak last season.
  7. Yeah I was making a point. IMO we need a better keeper than McGregor, Im not expecting Buffon or Cech but there surely has to be better out there. Is Cammy and me the only people who think this - that the standard of player has to be a lot better? McGregor is a decent keeper but Id like (expect) better for Rangers.
  8. Its ridiculous to have to wait even longer, both teams have to prepare for the division they will be in. The longer it goes on the more I think West Ham will stay up as nobody can find a reason to put them down but its a pain in the ass.
  9. I disagree, it think those 3 are perfect for Wigan and an improvement on what they have. Sibierski was a decent midfielder for Man city, he just didnt play that well upfront for Newcastle. Bramble is the only bombscare there but he may be better suited at a smaller club.
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/6767111.stm I read this week Paul jewell quit with frustration as he couldnt attract players to Wigan. Now this new boy comes in and signs Melchoit, Bramble, Siberski and another. They are also linked with Hyppia. Not bad signings for Wigan, bet Jewell is a bit sick
  11. First Ive heard of that!!! Not bad for a 3rd choice keeper though

    Pre Season

Hopefully a few new faces will be signed by then and get involved. That is still3 or 4 weeks away so there is still time. Pete may even get a trip to a few of those games to do a spying mission for us seen as he stays on the German border.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_utd/6761225.stm D-day today for Sheff U and West Ham to see if West Ham go down and Sheff U get back up. Have to say im pretty nervous about the result and Im pure hoping West Ham RIGHTFULLY keep there place. On a side note I wonder if Liverpool fully hold Mascherano's rights as he was transferred from West Ham C'mon the 3 man panel - Keep West Ham up!!
  14. TBH I dont know much about Breiller to judge him. But its looks like he is on a free, Would he be worth taking??

    Guilly

So Celtic are linked with not only Guily but a winger from the European Champions. Its depressing to think our only official offer is 250k for a Kilmarnock striker. Hopefully Smith pulls a tricks out the hat.
  16. Frankie, I quite like the 4-2-3-1 formation but Id like to have a De Boer / Buffel type player where you have Ferguson. BF plays too deep these days and comes back to pick up possession outside our own box when Hemdani should be doing this. When playing this the 2 wide men MUST get forward and support the front man but Burke and Adam didnt do this enough last season although Adam chipped in some goals. Thats very encouraging and I hope so. Agree with Papac, I quite like him and he played ok at LB. He would be handy to hang onto but if we got a fee that we could put towards a better player then we have to take it. The Svensson one is tricky, my preferrence would be to have Cuellar and Webster in the squad ahead of him. A loan option may be the way to go. Buffel - I think he should get one more chance to play that front man role. He must know he has to prove something. He has talent but needs to be consistant. Sionko - I liked him to start with but it seemed like he had left anyway for the majority of last season so he can go. Sebo - Disagree. I dont think he cant classed a disappointment when he barely got a game. If he got a run of 6-8 games and didnt do anything then id say he wasnt any use. That is depressing reading IMO. I know your a bit of a keeper Frankie and may see something in Smith but Im looking for a fairly proven keeper. If Langfield signed Id actually be a bit embarrassed. We should snap Konchesky up if possibly, heis a good player but a bit hot headed (similar to Danny Mills who ironically we are linked to at RB). But Konchesky would be a hige improvement to Ian Murray who has struggled last season. Hutton has made the RB position his own so it is cover we are looking for rather than a better player. Lowing may get a better, but Hutton is a must for RB on last seasons form. Would we consider letting last seasons best player go?? I think if Thomson could be accomodated next to Hemdani it would encourage him to get forward and get more goals. Hemdani must stay IMO. Agreed I do think a lot more could still take place - whether its for the better or worse we will see in time. It is typical Walter Smith to do shrewd quiet business so thats what we are all hoping on at the moment.
  17. If the 3-5-2 is used then it has to be used the correct way. It all depends on the personnel at the club. For eg I think Arsenal and Man U would be daft to play 3-5-2 as they work the 4-4-2 so well and have the right balance but Liverpool and Chelsea on the other hand could get away with it. The argument is why do we need 3 centre halfs in the SPL. But the way I look at it is why do we need 4 defenders! Lets have an extra midfielder and that way we still get 2 upfront. For eg - Celtic worked this very well under MON and they continued it into Europe. But they had 3 big and strong centre halfs, a holdng midfielder with a tackler then creative players plus 2 strong forwards. If Celtic tried that now they would probably get battered due to there squad now. But from a Rangers point of view we havent had a good balance in the team for about 5 years. Our central midfielders just dont justify an attacking 4-4-2. But under Advocaat we were awesome with the 4-4-2 and played it correctly. I just want the best formation that makes us a better team and play better football. And at the moment I still think 3-5-2 would suit Rangers better.
  18. My priority would simply be a class player regardless what position he plays as we dont have enough in the squad full stop. I cant understand the quantity of centre halfs though. Cuellar would improve what we have so id take him as we do need a long term partnership to be created. But what about Svensson and Webster? It will depend on Svensson improving a lot but Weir could assist in that. If Webster signs then he will need a run of games so only time will tell if he is good enough. IF we are looking at Cuellar then why on earth did we sign Broadfoot if Papac and Murray arent getting shipped out? I quite like Ehiogu, I think he will be a better player once he gets used to the SPL - and thats takes time. But he is 34 and thats not long term. As said Hemdani can play there but I prefer him in the midfield. Id love to have this quantity problem if it was midfielders we were talking about.
  19. Not a bad finish to the season but I think Barca should be champions due to goal difference. Thats over a season while the head to heads can be decided over a few unfair factors. But I predicted Real at the start but wish I had a be on. The media are going over the top with Beckham though. "Becks wins title" - FFS he didnt play in half the games.
  20. Gribz

    Guilly

Yeah saw this, we should be putting in an offer for him , we have nothing to lose. But i expect an EPL club to snap him up, he is a great player. Also Jaaskaleinen is leaving Bolton, one report say he is available for about 2 million while Im sure I read he was leaving on a free as his contract is up. Again we should be at least making some interest for a keeper as good as this.
  21. Fulham were supposed to be close to signing Healy and there was another side linked also (poosibly Derby). I think 400k for Healy would be a better bit of business than 1.5m for Naismith.
  22. This time last year id have agreed with you and thought would could get a similar player for cheap. But now that the level of player at Ibrox is coming down, id keep Ferguson. Hopefully he gets a good rest over the summer and is 110% fit for the start of the season and BF on his game (along with Hemdani / Hutton / Weir) is still the difference between us and the rest of the SPL.
  23. Danny Mills is the rumour on the BBC today. 5 years ago this would have been a class signing but now Id have Hutton way ahead of him. But Mills would be fairly good back up.
  24. Thats my post in a nutshell I forgot to add Beasley to my post but Ive no idea where he plays or how good he is. Pete, your team isnt back except Thomson isnt a RM / RW
