It shouldnt be sang but people are over reacting as if it was a poison song. I personally didnt know what it was all about until recently so have never sang or heard about it. Im sure a lot of Bears are in the same boat but sing it coz the next guy sings it. But surely we shouldnt feel the need to sing this, we have enough Rangers songs to sing.

A well deserved double.

No cant agree with that Frankie. I like the footy thread on its own and get a good few topics especially for the Premiership. I'll get things busy again

My first comments on the draw: Fantastic! Although I was hoping for an English club Id take Barca, I just didnt want Inter again. Ive back Lyon on the last few years in the CL (an outside bet) but I actually think this is a good time to play them as they have sold a few players and are re-building. Stuttgart are beatable at Ibrox but will be a tough task away. Then Barca!! Henry, Messi, Eto, Ronaldinho, Deco etc - they will get a fright coming into the atmosphere at Ibrox but to beat them will be a hellava task. But its great to be involved in this type of games again. 2nd place is reachable IMO but if all 3 opponents turn up and play to there potential then 4th place would be no shame as it we are realistically 4th favourites.

Well done Fraser. This game tomorrow is massive. We HAVE to win it then we can worry about France. I would take 3 pts right now but Im confident we can get a draw in Paris. But lest just get any win here first then we take it from there. Id make one change to your team Fraser. Id put McCulloch where you have Brown, then move Brown in one and drop Hartley. But im actually hoping for Italy to beat France. If we win tomorrow and Italy win, then we get a point off France, we will have a better head to head over 2 games against France where as if it comes down to head to heads against Italy we have lost one already so we would HAVE to beat them at Hampden.

I was at the game mentioned, wasnt the nicest of days in the rain but the result was superb and we had some majik players on show that day

This should have been done years ago and would be perfect for a summer with no WC or Euro Champs. I hope it happens. But England will come crawlling in once they realise what they are missing and the revenue it would bring to there stadium they have to pay off. But they realise they would get stuffed at Hampden

Agree with above, this is an ideal game to play some guys who havent featured: ________________Carroll_______________ Whittaker___Ehiogu____Broadfoot____Papac Novo_______Thomson___Gow______Beasley ____________Naismith___Boyd___________

This is a tough one for me to pick. There is a few things to think about 1) going on current form, 2) Ability 3) Availability (injured or not) 4) what I have seen of a player (e.g Ive never seen Whittaker play) 5) And most importantly what game we are playing (easy SPL home game or tough euro / OF away match. But the good thing is the amount of options we have available. The defence picks itself at the moment and we have great back up. Im sure Webster will give Weir a run in the coming weeks but I'll stick with Weir at the moment to partner Cuellar. In midfield McCulloch started off great but has been a bit more quiet in the last few games. I think he should have been kept on the right. I cant believe Hemdani hasnt been involved so much recently, IMO it would be Ferguson making way. Cousin looks a buy. And I would say a fully fit Buffel would have to be on the team sheet. Im going to have a stab at this team for the reserved line up : _______________McGregor_____________ Hutton_____Weir______Cuellar_____Papac __________Hemdani___Thomson_________ ___McCulloch_____Buffel______Beasley___ ________________Cousin_______________ For home games in the SPL I would tend to agree with you here but I dont see Hutton playing in a back 3. Id have to go: _____________McGregor_____________ ______Weir____Cuellar_____Webster___ _________Hemdani____Thomson_______ __McCulloch_____Buffel________Beasley _________Cousin_____Darchville_______ But all of the above is going on what ive seen so far. Novo would be pushing for a start on the right while non of our left sided players have been over-impressive so far. I know everyone is going to say Im mad having no Ferguson and Boyd in the team. But I just cant work out where to put BF. He started well this season and got forward but he over dictates at times and doesnt have a settled position of either defensive or offensive. I think he plays to much in the centre and should move over to the right or left side of centre and then Hemdani would play better with him. As for Boyd, I think everyone knows I dont rate him at all. But the options are great and Im looking forward to seeing more of Naismith and Whittaker before I judge.
-
Ferguson is the main threat at the moment and Im happy they think so. But Lee McCulloch can quietly get about his job and is a threat. We need a big performance from every player tonight - this game is massive.
-
Seems we are in agreement about the V neck. Lets hope its a round. I have the new West Ham top, its made by Umbro aswell and has a round neck - it makes a HUGE difference to how good the top looks.
-
Yeah, Im certainly hoping so. I still rate Buffel and I think the current system will suit him much better. Ferguson and Buffel can get forward with either Thomson or Hemdani holding.
-
Its not a bad squad for a friendly, id only say the midfield looks a bit light without Ferguson, hartley, Quashie and McCulloch but there is reasons for leaving them out for this one. But the forward line looks strong. Hutton HAS to play, but no Gary Naismith!! And its good that the likes of S Smith, Webster, Weir, Ferguson, Thomson McCulloch, Whittaker Adam can all still force there way in. I actually think this would have been a good chance for Thomson to get a call up. From that squad id play: _______________Gordon______________ Hutton___Anderson___McManus___Alexander??? Fletcher___Brown____Robson___McFadden __________O Connor___Maloney________
-
Quite nice although would be nicer if the neck was round rather than the 'V'.
-
As soon as I read half the post I thought not chance would that happen in the east end. I dont think I would do it with a couple of heavys with me. My mate got a kick-in last year in a bar near parkhead with his Gers top on.
-
Aye, the commentators were making it known that he made had balls to make2 substitutes and it paid off as they combined for the 2nd goal. I think they will be ok this season and wont be any lower than 12th.
-
Celtic were jammy. I was switching between that game and the Sunderland v Spurs match and they struggled at 1-1, Falkirk could easily have got a draw. It was 1-1 until Latapy came off then that was it. Hopefully Aberdeen are more equipped to last 90 mins next week and celtic come back battered from Moscow and we can open a slight gap up. But I can see us sitting on top for the next few weeks and hopefully on from there. WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED...........
-
I thought it was harsh he was dropped but to not even have him on the bench is saying something unless its due to this rule where we must have a certain amount of young players. But I really hope he isnt going anyway, Ferguson and Thomson have started the season well but they will have off days aswell so Hemdani will step in again.
-
3 from 15 mate But we still arent conceding aswell which is great.
-
I think you need to send a thank you letter to Joan Collins for that!! They left it late. Nice win though, but Jon's treble is impressive - well done Jon that was 3 good picks. Blackburns second goal was a peach, i caught it as I was switching between that game and West Ham v Man City. Im not going to mention West Ham, I thought they had learned from last season but City looked a solid outfit.
-
My coupon is bust already with Newcastle humping Bolton 3-0 already. Bolton look a poor poor side and on this show they will be fighting relegation all week. The goals were poor defending, 1 was a swinging free kick which flew in, the 2nd was a deflection which Jaaskelienin (sp) should have got and the other was a free over head kick. West Ham are getting beat Watched Sunderland v Spurs. Spurs were trying to play like arsenal and got caught out everytime. I dont think they will break into the top 4 as they havent signed any world class players.
-
I think anyone could count on one hand how many Chinese players have been decent at most in Europe and they may a finger or 2 spare. They just arent suited to the British game. Asian football is improving and they are good techinically - the Japs are most advanced - but they are built like tooth picks and get knocked over rather easy.
-
Thats not a bad shout mate! They are all winnable. Im hoping Falkirk have enough for a draw and I think Sunderland will make it tight for Spurs. Blackburn have won 5 in a row against Boro. West Ham and Hibs are Bankers though EDIT: Ive just backed Arsenal at 9/1 to win the league. I like Wenger a lot and trust his judgement and he wants to win it. Its a good outside bet at those odds. I'll be having a flutter on Torres aswell.
-
Yeah it would be a great achievement to come away from those 2 tricky grounds with 6 points. Lets hope the idiots who call themselves fans dont go to these grounds and ruin it for us.
