  1. I think its too early to say and Im edging towards that this is a one-off. But we still need to improve as we werent convincing against Zeta or Red Star although we went through. But it does seem that Hemdani is being frozen out. Its ok resting him but he hasnt featured at all recently.
  2. Probably Darcheville for me. Looked the only bright spark when he came on.
  3. Bassa McInally :uzi: And I was blaming myself. At 80 mins I thought the West Ham game is done and dusted, il switch over to the last 10 mins to see if Fulham can hold there lead. I turned to the misses and said as soon as I turn it over I bet Wigan have scored - and right enough 1-1. Fulham have been so unlucky this season. They have deserved something more from every game they have played in.
  4. Fine piece and I agree with the team matters. Weir is never going to last the pace and should be played spareinly (sp). But Webster would have played today had he not had a knock but what about Broadfoot who could have came in for either centre half or LB and moved Papac to the middle. Big Ugo Ehiogu is still to come back aswell. Faye and Thomson were disappointing and Ferguson did make a difference when he came on. I still think Hemdani should be first midfielder on the team sheet but im hoping we can eventually fit Hemdani, Ferguson, Buffel and McCulloch into the midfield. Upfront Darcheville and Cousin are definatly my pick aswell. Id even have had Sebo been given a run ahead of Boyd before we punted him. Why chase Naismith for so long and not give him a chance today before Novo?
  5. So is this just a one off or did we get carried away with our good start? Remember today was our first test against one of the so called better SPL Sides as we have only played Falkirk, Gretna, St Mirren and Caley up until today - the 4 worst teams in the league. IMO we have great cover in every position in the team but we still have a number of average players playing in the starting XI: McGregor (Has had a good defence ahead of him and silly challenge today) Whittaker (early to judge but he looks poor IMO) Beasley (weak) Thomson (hasnt impressed me at all since coming in and has moved Hemdani to the stands - absolute baffling), Boyd (Still isnt mobile when Novo, Naismith, Darcheville and Sebo all are) I think when Ferguson, Hemdani and McCulloch are all in the midfield we look much stronger.
  6. Yeah Fraser, plus you have school work to concentrate on! But your name was 5th up so thats why - nothing else bud. You'll get a bigger game next month
  7. Arsenal were brilliant. There 2nd and 3rd goals were superb (especially the 3rd - look out for that one). My 3pm treble was close. I went for West Ham (Easy 3-0 win and a great 2nd half performance) Sunderland (2-1) Fulham (1-1 with Wigan getting a pen to level on 80 mins )
  8. Good luck with tha mate. Villa will be 50/50 West Ham will win I looked at Charlton but Colchester are playing well with Teddy Sheringham still scoring. I looked at Leicester - they will win Preston are dodgy but are favourites West Brom and Killie should be a bankers and Hibs should win I dont have a clue about Queens though
  9. YOur not kidding after that first half at Tynecastle!! I just had a sneaky feeling for Everton this morning and they havent been bad at all in the game. Man U lack a striker big time at the moment EDIT - Plus i really fancy Arsenal today. Its started high tempo.
  10. Time to bankroll Ladbrokes again Im going for a treble in the early K/offs: Everton to beat Man U 7/2 Draw with Portsmouth and Liverpool 9/4 Rangers to beat Hearts 8/11 Tener repays 250 quid! I fancy throwing Arsenal to beat Spurs in on that aswell at 6/4 to make it 630 quid from the tenner. At 3pm: Draw between Birmingham and Bolton 11/5 Sunderland to beat Reading 6/4 West Ham to beat Boro Evs Fulham to win at Wigan 12/5 544 quid from a tenner! C'mon!
  11. Just testing the lads who have to do them to make sure they get it in there diaries
  12. Im still hoping NI can pull through aswell. They have slipped up with those 2 defeats but they can still get through. Sweden getting 3 pts from that abandoned game in denmark was a bit of a blow, but its not over for NI yet.
  13. Superb, that should be sent globally
  14. Of course il be watching the West Ham game!! The Gers k/o is earlier than i thought.
  15. Im on my travels next week so will miss 2 games but here is Sept's rota Sept 15th - SPL - Hearts (away) - Alan Sept 19th - CL - Stuttgart (home) - Super_Ally Sun 23rd - SPL - Aberdeen (home) - Ascender Wed 26th - LC - East Fife (away) - Fraser Sat 29th - SPL - Motherwell (away) - Me I'll do this monthly then those participating just need to take note of there dates for the preview. Lets keep the previews to a high standard to get them on Newsnow. Frankie will get them on the main site.
  16. Just checked my TV Guide for the games on live here this weekend. On Sat Im spoiled for choice: Everton v Man Utd - 7pm Portsmouth v Liverpool - 7:45pm Tottenham v Arsenal - 8:30pm Wigan v Fulham - 10pm (Cant see that getting viewed) West Ham v Middlesboro - 10pm Hearts v Rangers - 7:30pm Chelsea v Blackburn - 1:15am Pizza and Beers i reckon!!
  17. Should we call up Le Guen once McLeish calls it a day
  18. Nothing I can add about Hutton, he has made the mark up to be Rangers and Scotlands RB for the next 10 years if he wants and has set himself high standards with his last 12 months performances. Its all his to throw away. I dont actually think he is far off the finished article. I dont mind his odd rash decision, its sometimes good to have this in a player as long as it doesnt get silly. Long may he be in the team.
  19. Just shows the importance of the next match against Ukraine. If we win that then a point away to Georgia would be good enough if we beat Italy at Hampden in a cup final type match. First and foremost - 3 pts against Ukraine then we can start talking about going to the Euro's. You have to assume France will take at least 7 pts from there last 3 games and Italy will get 6 from there 2 homes games. Exciting stuff
  20. Aye fraser thats a shocker, looks more like a rugby shirt!! Chelsea away is tidy Chris
  21. Absolutely unbelievable!!! Amazin result to win in Paris. A draw would have been a fine result but a win is superb. Im smiling like a cheshire cat all morning even though I only had 2 hours sleep after the game here. One thing has pissed me off is the lack of coverage on the BBC websites etc. We have just beaten the French on there own patch FFS - something almost any team in the world cant do - yet there is only reports and opinions about England beating a poor Russia team. Alan Hansen should be allowed back into Scotland, he only talks about England. He had his preview the other day which had one sentance about Scotland. But this is a big middle finger up to the adopted Scots down south There wasnt a player who put a foot wrong, and I thought Stevie Pearson did very well when he came on - I was actually surprised it was him coming on. McFadden has proved he has to be our first player on the team sheet. He offers something extra and is a class player. I wish Rangers got him. I wanted a Italy win on saturday against the French as I fancied us to nick a point in Paris which would have meant we had a better head to head against them anyway and would set them further back. But if it comes down to head to head against Italy we have to beat them at hampden now (which we are capable of). Georgia away will be tricky and a totally different type of game but we can get a draw there, and we can beat Ukraine at Hampden. The table looks great but we still have 3 games to go but I am very confident we wont blow it! Credit to McLeish and the team - We have had some credable games in the last few years against Italy, Holland, France (at home) and Germany and back to the win at Wembley but last night is up there on terms of a result.
  22. Read it wrong, plus I heard yesterday Caldwell was due to come in, thats where Im getting the 5-4-1.
  23. I need all names soon so I can draw it up. So far thats: Me Alan Fraser (Reserves games ) Super_Ally (Assuming) Ascender (Assuming) Frankie are you wanting the odd game?
  24. It sounded more to me like a 5-3-1-1 __________________Gordon__________________ Hutton____Weir____Caldwell___McManus___McEvely _________Brown___Ferguson___Fletcher_________ _________________McFadden__________________ _________________O Connor___________________
  25. McLeish reveals tactics: Not sure if this is a good idea telling the French how we are going to play. They would have assumed we were playing 4-5-1 but now they will know its a 5-4-1. I would have preferred the 4-5-1 and played the 3 central midfielders deep and let the 2 wide men get forward a support.
