  1. Just checked my TV Guide for the games on live here this weekend. On Sat Im spoiled for choice: Everton v Man Utd - 7pm Portsmouth v Liverpool - 7:45pm Tottenham v Arsenal - 8:30pm Wigan v Fulham - 10pm (Cant see that getting viewed) West Ham v Middlesboro - 10pm Hearts v Rangers - 7:30pm Chelsea v Blackburn - 1:15am Pizza and Beers i reckon!!
  2. Should we call up Le Guen once McLeish calls it a day
  3. Nothing I can add about Hutton, he has made the mark up to be Rangers and Scotlands RB for the next 10 years if he wants and has set himself high standards with his last 12 months performances. Its all his to throw away. I dont actually think he is far off the finished article. I dont mind his odd rash decision, its sometimes good to have this in a player as long as it doesnt get silly. Long may he be in the team.
  4. Just shows the importance of the next match against Ukraine. If we win that then a point away to Georgia would be good enough if we beat Italy at Hampden in a cup final type match. First and foremost - 3 pts against Ukraine then we can start talking about going to the Euro's. You have to assume France will take at least 7 pts from there last 3 games and Italy will get 6 from there 2 homes games. Exciting stuff
  5. Aye fraser thats a shocker, looks more like a rugby shirt!! Chelsea away is tidy Chris
  6. Absolutely unbelievable!!! Amazin result to win in Paris. A draw would have been a fine result but a win is superb. Im smiling like a cheshire cat all morning even though I only had 2 hours sleep after the game here. One thing has pissed me off is the lack of coverage on the BBC websites etc. We have just beaten the French on there own patch FFS - something almost any team in the world cant do - yet there is only reports and opinions about England beating a poor Russia team. Alan Hansen should be allowed back into Scotland, he only talks about England. He had his preview the other day which had one sentance about Scotland. But this is a big middle finger up to the adopted Scots down south There wasnt a player who put a foot wrong, and I thought Stevie Pearson did very well when he came on - I was actually surprised it was him coming on. McFadden has proved he has to be our first player on the team sheet. He offers something extra and is a class player. I wish Rangers got him. I wanted a Italy win on saturday against the French as I fancied us to nick a point in Paris which would have meant we had a better head to head against them anyway and would set them further back. But if it comes down to head to head against Italy we have to beat them at hampden now (which we are capable of). Georgia away will be tricky and a totally different type of game but we can get a draw there, and we can beat Ukraine at Hampden. The table looks great but we still have 3 games to go but I am very confident we wont blow it! Credit to McLeish and the team - We have had some credable games in the last few years against Italy, Holland, France (at home) and Germany and back to the win at Wembley but last night is up there on terms of a result.
  7. Read it wrong, plus I heard yesterday Caldwell was due to come in, thats where Im getting the 5-4-1.
  8. I need all names soon so I can draw it up. So far thats: Me Alan Fraser (Reserves games ) Super_Ally (Assuming) Ascender (Assuming) Frankie are you wanting the odd game?
  9. It sounded more to me like a 5-3-1-1 __________________Gordon__________________ Hutton____Weir____Caldwell___McManus___McEvely _________Brown___Ferguson___Fletcher_________ _________________McFadden__________________ _________________O Connor___________________
  10. McLeish reveals tactics: Not sure if this is a good idea telling the French how we are going to play. They would have assumed we were playing 4-5-1 but now they will know its a 5-4-1. I would have preferred the 4-5-1 and played the 3 central midfielders deep and let the 2 wide men get forward a support.
  11. Mmm, I wonder if SDM put out some refreshments
  12. I wonder what time the first people started to que at! They would have needed a good picnic and a few beers to keep them warm and pass the time
  13. Yeah and he makes huge annoucements during the game like a normal commentator does for goals but its only a throw in on the half way line or something
  14. Thought id start a new thread on this. Henry is out for France but Anelka will play with Trezequet upfront which is still a handful. Id rather be playing against Henry than Anelka right now. For us, according to the beeb Ferguson will come back into the midfield in place of a striker. This is likely to be Boyd and either O Connor or Beattie will start upfront to offer a more running game. But id go with McFadden upfront. There is also the rumour Caldwell will fit into the midfield in a defensive sitting role. I hope this isnt true as we should go with Ferguson, Fletcher and Brown in the centre with Maloney and McCulloch wider. Id go: Gordon Hutton Weir McManus Mcevely McCulloch (right) Brown Fletcher Ferguson Maloney McFadden
  15. My dad once flew to Lisbon via Dublin and Ryanair and it took him something silly like about 12 hours. Ive flew into Gerona a couple of times, its an hours train ride from Barca. My trip might be complicated if I get a ticket. Ive found cheap flights from here to Frankfurt then onto either Stuttgart or Barca (depending on what game) for 450 quid. Definatly thinking about it if I can get my hands on a ticket.
  16. You cant beat Archie. One of my fave commentators. I get him out here on the Setanta feed channel and he is 20 times better than Ian Crocker. He has been like that with pronounciations since I can remember starting hearing him in the 80s. OOommph and theres a ball and its.... He does call him Darkville though
  17. Thats quite high!! I remember not so long ago when I bought a 3 match package it was 50 quid!!
  18. I was thinking about this thread. FIrst and foremost we go to Tynecastle where 3 pts isnt a banker. Id say 7 from the next 3 would be good form before the first OF game.
  19. Unfortunatly yes, I dont think he will play for us again which is unfair as he has never been given a chance. I just hope it doesnt come back to bite us. I also cant work out why he wasnt given a chance, he actually showed bits of excitement in his game and IMO was the kind of striker we needed in big games to rattle opposition defenders.
  20. Guys, Super_Ally and Ascender have both done fine jobs in my absense in the past, and 1 or 2 like to get there prediction line up early aswell. So Im happy to share this role out especially as I always get last minute team news over here and miss the odd suspension etc. There will be plenty games coming up due to the Gers being in 4 competitions so if its ok with everyone I will draw up a roster for the Previews. If you would like to give the odd one a bash drop your name on this thread and I will fit you in.
  21. Bentley I presume, due to Large Lamps not playing!! That will be down to not playing for the U21s in the summer.
  22. Im looking into going to Stuttgart. There are daily flights from Singapore to Frankfurt then I'll just jump on a train to Stuttgart, or use airmiles to go to Amsterdam then same again to Stuttgart, or get Pete to pick me up and take me there  How good would that be - 11 hours of boozing on a plane then straight to the German bars to get tanked before a game!!
  23. Would be ok in certain games but no height there at all. Novo Darcheville and Cousin in a 3 man attack would be ok
  24. Yeah I do. In fact there is a copy from YouTube on here somewhere which Wija posted a while back.
  25. Yeah what a ham!! But im more afraid of Anelka at the moment, he is on fire. An Italian win would have been good for us yesterday as if it comes down to head to heads we have beaten France and lost against Italy so far. That means we would have to beat Italy and then it comes down to GF. But if we nick a point against France then we have better overall head to head against them.
