Repeated!! 4 out of 5 for my coupon - they Russian swines cost me!!
-
I fancy Gers to get a draw but wouldnt like it to ruin my coupon so ive left them out. Roma will give Man U a game tonight, Man U have been struggling to score and Roma are a better side than Birmingham so I wouldnt rule out a draw here. Arsenal are another who I think could only get a draw tonight. I hope not coz ive back them. But whats the bets the 3 games ive just mentioned are all draws and i dont back it at something like 35/1

Rob Green is awesome. Ben Foster when fit is awesome. Carson isnt bad but let in 4 last night. Ive never seen anything in Kirkland that impresses me despite the media claiming he is good. Robinson is the next Lampard. David James is a good laugh in goal at times.

Thought about this but its shite odds for a 5 fold. CSKA Moscow Watford Man Utd Arsenal Seville

Mourinho's agreement is for this season only but Im sure they will be thinking about him for next season.

Time for Some Mild Criticism ââ?¬â?? to Rotate or Not to Rotate?
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
You cant be serious with that. Steven Gerrard is one of the best players on the planet and scores 20 goals in the best league in the world and drives Liverpool on in EVERY game. BF is more of our dicator - if he plays well we play well / if he plays bad then we play bad. He seems immune to being dropped regardless if he is fit or injured. Dont get me wrong if BF is fit and on top of his game then he makes the team hands down but if not then give the man a 2 week break to re-charge his batteries. -
Villa must be reeling about not taking all 3 points. I woke up at 3:50am this morning and thought about getting up and watching the 2nd half but thought to myself "nah it will be 0-0". Robinson is a fat lump, he is eating out with Fat Frank too much. Rob Green is easily Englands No.1 following by Foster when he is fit. I do think Jol will be out of a job today. If it was 1-1 or 2-2 it maybe different but to lose 4 goals at home will cost him. I bet the Spurs board are wetting themselves at the thought of Mourinho!!

Time for Some Mild Criticism ââ?¬â?? to Rotate or Not to Rotate?
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Yeah agreed we do have to remember that point. We would take what we have now 100 times out of 100 compared to the previous 18 months before Walter. But as I and most others have said lets get some consistancy and get our best XI clear. -

No probs, thats why football is all about opinions. My actual comments about Ferguson were looking at his Ranger career (since re-joining from Blackburn) rather than 6 games this season. The games he should be dropped are for certain League cup games and SPL games were he has came out of a bad run or is carrying an injury. No player should have be immune to being dropped but BF seems to have this in his contract. If he is playing guff then its simple - take a break. -

Superbly written Frankie! A few points: Yeah said this on another thread that we still have a lot to be happy about as we are sitting pretty in all comps at the moment. Also mentioned this but whilst I do think this is good in certain things, I also thing we should be playing our best team regardless of nationality. I think Walter has an aim to play as much Scots as possible. But id take the Wenger approach of not giving a monkeys where a player is from. Mr inconsistancy for me and his inconsistancy totally reflects on the teams results. I think its time to drop him in certain games anyway. I also cant agree that he is a "great" player. He has the ability to be! He isnt ever going to give us that creativity we are craving and i would move him to being the holding midfielder. Yeah agreed, seemed to do better on the right side but he will always give 100%. I think his physical presence could be used upfront in games. -
Hard to believe to can recover in that time!!

I wouldnt go 3 at the back at the moment due to Hutton being amazing at RB and the defence is overall settled. But yeah, Novo for RM. As for McCulloch, I thought he was doing better when he was playing RM aswell until Smith shifted him. Beasley likes to run more with the ball and he is a bit more of a threat with the ball at feet.

I can understand that but we didnt draw 0-0, we drew 1-1 and if we prevented that goal then we would have won the match. Its hypothetical but Hemdani's style could have prevented the goal. But who would Hemdani have taken away? Thomson - he isnt forward thinking at all. Or he could have taken Whittaker away, pushed Hutton further forward. There is many things he could have done. At the moment WS is relying on the wide players to create the chances and possibly Ferguson. But Ferguson is neither a defensive midfielder or attacking midfielder - which is frustrating.

I read a great quote recently: "Its only those who feel Bitter towards something/one who feels the bitterness" If I had been at the game where Boruc blessed himself i wouldnt have blinked an eye lid about it. The best way would have been to reverse the situation and get him worked up about things and ignored him when he is trying to raise attention. I might be off topic a little but thought id add it on.

A player blessing himself before going on the pitch has always confused me anyway. His job actually doesnt last just the xx amount of minutes he is on a pitch, I wonder if they do it before they walk into training etc. I dont know of many people who go into work and bless themselve when turning on a laptop and sending an email. I just think its a fashion statement half the time but it it doesnt bother me.

Since the start of the calendar year Walter Smith has came in and installed stability into the Rangers team again and we finished last season strong in the league. There was huge question marks in the summer as to whether David Murray would stump up some cash so we could add to our thin squad. We werent asking for Henry and Rooney but just enough to improve and start climbing the mountain again. Murray supplied the cash and we now have players in abundance. Not every player will be a good buy but when money is tight at Rangers its important the manager buys well and id rather go for more experienced players than potential talent. There isnt wrong with having 1 or 2 potential talented players in the squad and let them gain experience and gradually build up the younger ones. But I have to question a couple of Smiths buys. Thomson just hasnt done it for me. He has had a handful of good games but I now think he is struggling. Whittaker reminds me in a Smith buy from the 90s when we were able to throw a few million at players who dont work out but the RM isnt near settled and he looks a terrible buy. It is early days for him and we hope he transforms this soon. Naimsith is a player whom we chased and chased - He hasnt featured much so cant be really judged but he hasnt started too badly at all. The other SPL talent that was bought havent kicked a ball - Gow and Broadfoot. The latter was always going to be a squad player but many thought Gow could play apart and his game is a attack minded with creativity - something we havent had this year. Now Im not for one minute slamming Walter as we are sitting nicely in all competitions but we got a few reminders last season with poor draws towards the end of the season that complacieny (sp) must be eradicated from our play. We have had 2 away games in a row in the SPL and turned up poorly twice not looking like a team who has played together. Our next 3 games are Hibs, Celtic and Dundee Utd - 3 of the 4 sides making up the top 4 in the league along with ourselves. I think Walter needs to work out his best team sooner rather than later and he MUST start bringing others in who deserve a chance. We dont need major re-shuffling, just a wee tweak here and there. The CL games will differ from SPL matches but only in the shape of the side which would mean a couple of changes at most. Our chopping and changing should be left until forced upon us with injuries and suspensions and for the League cup games. I think everyman and his dog would have Novo in the team right now. he offers 110%, wants to play for the shirt and scores goals. And there is a huge shout for Hemdani to play again. Gow and Buffel need to get mileage onto them again so id be bringing them on for the last 30 mins of games until they are ready for a start.
-
Its about opinions mate but Id say he is one of our best players therefore its simple logic that if you play better players it improves your team regardless where he plays. If Petr Cech was available for to be in goal for us on Saturday would you take him despite knowing he wasnt going to score our winner?? You'd have him because he is better than McGregor. Hemdani is better than Thomson and whilst Hemdani may not have ran 50 yards to get the winner, his ability to break up play, play a good pass and keep a cool head may have prevented Motherwell scoring. I also think Hemdani could be getting more forward in games and start shooting more - he has ability to do it as we have seen once or twice. I agree with Pete and Ascender above. Ascender's spot on about not being able to put a Gow or Buffel in the team simple because it means dropping Ferguson or moving into a defensive role. This goes back to what Pete says, when BF wasnt in the team we were playing great stuff and it wasnt just in PLGs era, I remember a number of games in Ecks reign aswell. BF is an enigma at times, he plays 5 superb games and most fans says he is the best Gers player in 20 years but yet he then goes and has the same amount of poor games. Ive always said its a consistancy thing with BF. I wold be interested to see Hemdani and Thomson play together but my preference would be to have Buffel or Gow playing behind the frontmen and Hemdani and / or Ferguson behind him. Its not impossible! We have Hutton who will provide width on the right and we play McCulloch left.

I used to call Gary Bollan - Pele, and Ally Maxwell - Butter Fingers (cost us the doube treble in 1994) And id hate to have heard what Letizi and Konterman were called amoungst plenty others

The one Sunday I dont throw a coupon on and the teams all come up - Everton, Hearts and West Brom. I was also going to do a Everton half time full time bet. But I was out for dinner with the misses and didnt get my bet on
-
Ljungbergs goal should have stood then who knows what would have happened. When Arsenal beat West Ham (not often mind you) its the only time I get over West Hams defeat quickly as I know we cant win the league and I prefer to see Arsenal than the other 3 contenders.
-
Well he better get used to more poor games like yesterday then. Got to agree with Gav on above. Ive always thought Ferguson should / could have taken a lot more blame on certain things in games but always looks to shout at the next man, not so muc in WS / AM era though as I think he respects them more than he did McLeish / PLG.
-
Arsenal were jammy yesterday. Ljungberg had good goal ruled offside and Ashton missed a sitter. But The Goons will win the league. 9/1 at the start of the season - what was the bookies thinking!! 1st Arsenal 2nd Man U 3rd Liverpool 4th Man City / Blackburn - Tough choice but the way Man City are playing could see them there as Spurs and Chelsea are having nightmares but Blackburn could the the other shout.
-
An AC Milan, Lazio and Valencia treble looks tasty there. Lazio would be dodgy but its a 124 quid return from a tenner!!
-
That must have been amazing to watch.

A bad day at the office again! 0 out of 3 in my only line of Rangers, West Ham and Draw at Man City.
