  1. Yeah, Im certainly hoping so. I still rate Buffel and I think the current system will suit him much better. Ferguson and Buffel can get forward with either Thomson or Hemdani holding.
  2. Its not a bad squad for a friendly, id only say the midfield looks a bit light without Ferguson, hartley, Quashie and McCulloch but there is reasons for leaving them out for this one. But the forward line looks strong. Hutton HAS to play, but no Gary Naismith!! And its good that the likes of S Smith, Webster, Weir, Ferguson, Thomson McCulloch, Whittaker Adam can all still force there way in. I actually think this would have been a good chance for Thomson to get a call up. From that squad id play: _______________Gordon______________ Hutton___Anderson___McManus___Alexander??? Fletcher___Brown____Robson___McFadden __________O Connor___Maloney________
  3. Quite nice although would be nicer if the neck was round rather than the 'V'.
  4. As soon as I read half the post I thought not chance would that happen in the east end. I dont think I would do it with a couple of heavys with me. My mate got a kick-in last year in a bar near parkhead with his Gers top on.
  5. Aye, the commentators were making it known that he made had balls to make2 substitutes and it paid off as they combined for the 2nd goal. I think they will be ok this season and wont be any lower than 12th.
  6. Celtic were jammy. I was switching between that game and the Sunderland v Spurs match and they struggled at 1-1, Falkirk could easily have got a draw. It was 1-1 until Latapy came off then that was it. Hopefully Aberdeen are more equipped to last 90 mins next week and celtic come back battered from Moscow and we can open a slight gap up. But I can see us sitting on top for the next few weeks and hopefully on from there. WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED...........

I thought it was harsh he was dropped but to not even have him on the bench is saying something unless its due to this rule where we must have a certain amount of young players. But I really hope he isnt going anyway, Ferguson and Thomson have started the season well but they will have off days aswell so Hemdani will step in again.
  8. 3 from 15 mate But we still arent conceding aswell which is great.
  9. I think you need to send a thank you letter to Joan Collins for that!! They left it late. Nice win though, but Jon's treble is impressive - well done Jon that was 3 good picks. Blackburns second goal was a peach, i caught it as I was switching between that game and West Ham v Man City. Im not going to mention West Ham, I thought they had learned from last season but City looked a solid outfit.
  10. My coupon is bust already with Newcastle humping Bolton 3-0 already. Bolton look a poor poor side and on this show they will be fighting relegation all week. The goals were poor defending, 1 was a swinging free kick which flew in, the 2nd was a deflection which Jaaskelienin (sp) should have got and the other was a free over head kick. West Ham are getting beat Watched Sunderland v Spurs. Spurs were trying to play like arsenal and got caught out everytime. I dont think they will break into the top 4 as they havent signed any world class players.
  11. I think anyone could count on one hand how many Chinese players have been decent at most in Europe and they may a finger or 2 spare. They just arent suited to the British game. Asian football is improving and they are good techinically - the Japs are most advanced - but they are built like tooth picks and get knocked over rather easy.
  12. Thats not a bad shout mate! They are all winnable. Im hoping Falkirk have enough for a draw and I think Sunderland will make it tight for Spurs. Blackburn have won 5 in a row against Boro. West Ham and Hibs are Bankers though EDIT: Ive just backed Arsenal at 9/1 to win the league. I like Wenger a lot and trust his judgement and he wants to win it. Its a good outside bet at those odds. I'll be having a flutter on Torres aswell.
  13. Yeah it would be a great achievement to come away from those 2 tricky grounds with 6 points. Lets hope the idiots who call themselves fans dont go to these grounds and ruin it for us.
  14. Where did you get that odds? You get 6/1 with Ladbrokes without Arsenal, so Spurs could nick 4th and its better odds. 1st Chelsea - 2nd Man U - 3rd Liverpool 8/1 not bad odds!!
  15. Cunny Funt.:uzi: Coz not long ago I saw Thompsons name mentioned and I forgot about him and Rae will fall into the same catergory. I forgot all about Mo Ross until I read his name.
  16. I see what your saying about Sam but I think he left there on bad terms with the chairman so I can see Bolton being really up for it. If the Torres bet comes up remember you have to send me a 20% commission at the end of the season
  17. Vidmar was cover for Numan at LB was he not? Im sure he only played LB. Mo Ross was shocking. He goes into the Steven Thomson and Gavin Rae shelf for players i forgot even played for Rangers. Im surprised Fraser hasnt joined this thread and pleaded for G Rae to be ahead of Hutton at RB
  18. Agreed. The home games should be bankers but prior to that games we need reminders from last season so they dont happen again. So we should get 9 pts from the home games and Id say 4 would be ok from the away games. 9-10 points - poor 11-12 points - average 13 - acceptable 15 - Just what the doctor ordered
  19. Id go with 4 from 5 there. Newcastle is the tricky one. I did fancy Newcastle to have a good season and even nick 5th but Newcastle always give a soap oprea and we'll have to wait and see if the Sam Allardyce factor puts an end to the drama there. I expect Bolton to take a point there. EDIT: The Torres bet is good - remember there is no Thierry Henry in the league this season to walk it!!
  20. Adamczuk and Porrini......
  21. Yeah there is 2 ways to look at it. Best on paper and and as Frankie says the best if they performed in that time. I suppose my team would be the best on paper but Frankies when playing well in the era. The defence is tricky, I was close to putting Porrini in at RB but Hutton this year gets the nod. Centre back is tough as Moore is unpopular but we have had too many bombscares including Big Amo on occassion.
  22. But with that list of strikers, surely we have to play 2 upfront!!!
  23. The best league in the world kicks off again tomorrow. I think last seasons league was the best Ive ever enjoyed. Its certainly the most Ive watched seen as I get 6 or 7 live games over the weekend. But it had everything - a top 2 chasing all season then a cracking relegation battle WHICH THE HAMMERS WON!! I think this season it will be closer. If Liverpool gel and get off to a good start then they will be a lot closer to Chelsea and Man U. Who would write off Arsenal. They are in a new era with a new team. The last of the old team (Henry and Ljungberg) have left and they have a young exciting team. The only possible problem with them is they only have 1 englishmen in there entire squad - Walcott. But I expect a good season from Arsenal if Van Persie, Gilberto, Fabregas and Gallas are fit. Spurs and Newcastle will be going for europe with Everton and possibly Villa, Blackburn and West Ham. The bottom pack will be Derby, Wigan, Fulham, Birmingham and Reading (2nd season syndrome). I can see Sunderland doing alright and joining Middlesboro, Man City, Portsmouth and Bolton in mid table. I think it will finish like this: Man Utd Chelsea Arsenal / Liverpool Tottenham Newcastle Everton Aston Villa West Ham Blackburn Portsmouth Bolton Man City Sunderland Middlesboro Fulham Reading Birmingham Wigan Derby
  24. Ahhh - One of the best threads returns!! Firstly if anyone fancies a flutter, Tip of the day HAS to be Fernando Torres to finish top scorer in the EPL - 16/1. I dont know how long that odds will stay there but it may come in if it gets some heavy punting. It worth an each way punt IMO. For the winners, Man U and Chelsea arent worth betting on but I may have a bet on Arsenal at 9/1. And Im debating betting on Newcastle and Spurs to have a top 5 finish. My early treble for tomorrow: Middlesboro v Blackburn - Draw Villa v Liverpool - Draw West Ham v Man City - home win
  25. Have to say i agree, I dont think Sebo will get a chance even though I still think he could do something for us. But the options we have are getting high: Novo Darcheville Boyd Cousin McCulloch Sebo Gow Buffel Lennon
