I cant see where the slating comes from against Buffel. People are acting like he is the only one who has been lacklusture when he plays. Captain Ferguson and Hero Boyd are as guilty as Buffel when it comes to having a bad game yet they get played in there favoured position. Buffel hasnt always been bad either. The OF game when we won 3-1 2 seasons ago he was superb - always against Porto at Ibrox when he came on.
-
A keeper wouldnt go a miss Pete BUt i fully agree with your team. Buffel should be played. Klos was slated for not knuckling down in the reserves, now Buffel seems to be doing this and has got the finger out and is starring!! He surely deserves a game. As soon as he leaves, he will be the one who got away. I strongly believe he will go onto another club and be one of their better players.
-
Would be a massive blow for us. But here's hoping he see's himself at Gers another few seasons to win some medals. I actually cant see him moving on in January, the summer would be more likely. Personally id be disappointed if Buffel goes without been given another chance. But I do think he will move on. He is the type of player we need. Same for Novo, he has been one of our better players recently. Gow baffles me! Webster - let him go. Its the 30k wages which puts me off Miller, I dont think he is worth that. He does a good job for Scotland but didnt do anything with us first time round. Id still prefer him to Boyd in a team playing the way we do. JCD and Cousin are still my first pick front 2. No idea about Kingston but id rather see a more established creative player seen as we will freeing up so much wages. Burke is welcome to leave IMO, he just hasnt made the next step in his career. But if he, Novo and Gow move on we are losing a lot of width. Big Ugo is 35 and hasnt got a long term future so he can move on.

Sebby Rozental was another with the knee injury was he not? And Big Marv? Gav's right here, once a knee goes a player loses confidence to do the slightest twist. For me, Webster was decent potential but I always thought it was Pressley who stood out at Hearts and made him look good.

I think he'll be thought about by every chairman bar the top 4 plus Spurs, Everton and Man City. Eck's reputation is growing the most rather than anything else, but he is still capable of mistakes. I see a club like Middlesboro being in for him soon. He will prefer a club who is established in the EPL for a number of years and who has a decent stadium and set up. N/A's Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Arsenal Tottenham Man City - I wouldnt make this a 100% non starter. Sven could easy bonk a secretary and move onto an Italian club Everton - Moyes is pretty much set up for a while but again not a 100%. But would the toffees like a 3rd scot in charge in a row. Possibilities from both parties: Blackburn - Should Hughes move onto bigger job Newcastle Aston Villa - Although O Neill would need to move on first after a row with the yanks Middlesboro West Ham - Linked here before and going by rumours, Curbs has about 6 games to save his job Sunderland - Big club, depends if Keane goes in a huff or moves on Portsmouth - Not very fashionable and i think they would struggle without Harry Bolton - A slight possibility here due to there decent set up. Cant see Megson being a long term boss (meaning 2 season). No's: Fulham Birmingham Wigan Derby Reading The french league is a likely choice aswell.

Yeah I was thinking he will probably realise he will still only be 49 / 50 after the next qualifying group so he wont make a knee jerk reation. He can take Scotland to the next WC then he'll be in with a great job somewhere. But I agree he has made a few tactical boobs but at least this time he is playing defenders in defence, midfielders in midfield etc etc. He also did get a wee bit of luck like Georgia at home when Beattie nicked the winner in the last minute, he that goal didnt go in we would have been out earlier. But I think he has been tactically better for Scotland than he was with Gers. I still also think Walter Smith deserves more credit. He was the one who picked the team up when they were in a dire mess and transformed us. McLeish carry the tourch on.

I thought this was going to be about the problems Ive had the last few nights. Everytime I click on anything the forum freezes and I have to log back on again then it does the same. - Once again its me with problems Anyway, your idea sounds good. How we going to go about it though? Does 1 person tally up all the days posts then divide it into how many each person posted?
-
Good stuff about Smith. Hopefully Novo isnt out long, he'd be in my first XI at the moment. Whats the story with Webster anyway? Does he go back to Wigan in Jan or are we signing him?

Id say Eck was pretty much a good option right now therefore id prefer him to stay, and i think he will. If he does move on then i dont think Levein would be my first choice. I prefer experience. Davie Moyes would be great but I really cant see him leaving Everton. After that, George Graham springs to mind along with Souness and even Strachan.

Here is the free kick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZO1ysiicro I can maybe see where your coming from that he does look like he is running a bit casual but IMO thats Huttons style and the soaked pitch didnt help him as he was making a 180 degrees turn. IMO he was just about to draw the striker in the put the foot down and take up up the wing but he was whacked off the ball. You can clearly see he Hutton is going in with the shoulder (50/50) but is hacked off the ball. The linesman is a few feet away from it!! Unbelievable. Fletcher is standing like a cardboard cut out when the ball comes across.
-
Great point, and not only the CB's he was in the LB position so all 3 defenders werent there. What impresses me so much about Hutton is the ease and comfort he looks when he is on the ball. He is a natural player. He is priceless to the Rangers team right now because he offers us such a good attacking option - and he is a RB!! If we could get another De Boer to assist Hutton then id see goals flowing from our team.
-
Firsly Pete id be interested how you managed to think it was a free kick to Italy to start with. It wasnt even a 50/50 decision, Hutton was bundled off the ball. Personally I think Fletcher wasnt fit and i also think he is a bit over rated simply because he is a Man Utd player. He is a handy squad player for them at best and he doesnt really stand out in games. He normally does a good job for Scotland but i dont think he has had enough games since his injury. We still have the basis of a good young team. Once we get Quashie back to do the job Hartley attempted on Saturday we will have a more sold midfielder who can pass and tackle, which will help Ferguson out more. Not only that, we still have a lot of youngsters to still break into the squad.
-
Yip, the problem is that there are so many clubs in the premiership and championship with the same ambition of trying to establish themselves as a top 10 club but they are all cancelling each other out. It needs serious invesntment plus a big name manager to do it - like Man City this season. Their support also help. But then again Steve Gibson has probably been the best chairman in the EPL yet Middlesboro just cant get out of being a bottom half club. Birmingham have a bit of potential but it will take multi millions, they basically need a new team.
-
I thought Hutton was the main stand out. Fletcher and Brown werent that great for me but it should have been Hartley or Fletcher who came off rather than Brown. I think the wet conditions played its part and made it more tricky for us. People were happy it was raining with typical scottish weather but it pisses down in Italy aswell. I think we would have won if it was a dry pitch.
-
Not sure what to think about that but i know none of us would break there legs
-
He is just a egg and nothing else. He doesnt have a fookin clue about football. He offered Jewell an "unbelieveable" deal to return but somehow jewell turned it down. Cant wait until they get relegated again. The man is a turd.
-
Haha, Wigan will also pay Birmingham 3 million. :fish: Party time for Brum fans.
-
If Russia had scored and not hit the post a minute earlier then this wouldnt be mentioned. Tough one to say. Would be great to see Hutton have him in his pocket for Scoland aswell
-
Aye, its like the Leicester fans thanking bolton for taking megson away. He is a pish manager and always complaining. If Brum get a big takeover with millions to spend then Eck will be in frame for the job.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/birmingham_city/7100525.stm Bizarre decision again with the choice for a clubs manager. He hasnt done great with Birmingham, only made them a bottom 6 EPL club. I dont like Wigan, I dont like the chairman and i think they will get relegated this season and we wont have to put up with them again.
-
Aye, 20 million plus that ham Neville

No surprise from the sunday papers: Eff off Awex he is ours :uzi:

So do we bring back the home internationals next summer? England are scared to say yes and they will be in Austria and Switz anyway due to some shocking russian defending. But would we welcome playing NI, Wales and Rep Ireland (although NI arent out of qualifying yet)? Personally id welcome playing a wee tournament. Id like to see Wales or Rep Ireland at Hampden and us give them a good going over.
-
Aye the latvia game did it. And agreed, if Sanchez stayed on they would have qualified - same if Smith had stayed on as Scotland boss we may have qualified

Mate, i think ive maybe misunderstood the question but there is no doubt progress has been made. Im certainly not digging at Eck here but if he replaced Vogts (not W Smith) would we still be in the same position. I just think Smith deserves huge credit for scrapping us off the ground and getting us off and running. Eck has continued what Smith started and has a great 'A' team but the Georgia showed we dont have a 'B' team once our better players arent available. Eck doesnt deserve any critics but he did make a few wrong decisions. Playing an unfit Fletcher in Georgia was wrong and Miller should have been on earlier last night. But it take our certain circumstances compared to Vogts days. We are progressing and have a good young squad. It will be interesting to see if Eck stays on. We dont have a competitive game for 10 months and you have to wonder if Eck would prefer day to day management again.
