  1. Jordon would be the perfect No.2 Agreed about 'Arry but i dont think he has a chance at the moment
  2. Been listening to Talksport this weekend where they are naming those linked to the England job then I listened to Your Call with Chick Young (instead of Traynor) this morning and heard some of them tipped to the Scotland post. To start with England are on a down slope and are looking to turn it around while scotland are on the up and should be looking to continue going in the right direction. Therefore England are being linked with Mourinho, Capello, Lippi, Klinsmann, Scolari, Oneill and Hiddink - all of whom come with a great pedigree. Mourinho is obviously first choice who has reported to knocked it back but No.s onwards are still great bosses. Then I here the Scottish names being linked - Calderwood, Jefferies, Levein, McGhee and even John Hughes was mentioned - thats embarrassing. Not one of them is a capable national manager to continue the good work set up by Walter Smith. Levein did ok at Hearts then failed at Leceister, and is now doing a decent job at Tannadice but that far from qualifies him for the national boss job. Mark McGhee was at who? Brighton, Wolves and now Motherwell! Once again not enough for me. Im not even going to mention Jefferies. For me, Id look abroad and to England aswell as the Scottish possibilities - G Graham, Souness (although i dont want him), Strachan, Burley. Id personally pick a 3 man team consisting of George Graham as No.1, Joe Jordan and No.2 and either Paul Lambert, Richard Gough or Stuart McCall as the No.3. There is a time and place for a young manager but now is not the time. We need stability and Graham will bring that. After that then we may have an improved John Collins, Gary McAllister or David Moyes (may want it) for the job. Just for the record I think the FA could shoot themselves in the foot by be all set to go for Jose but he has knocked them back, now they are going to be in the same scearnio when they chose McLaren - ie they wont go for first choice.
  3. Im boarding between 1-0 to Gers and 1-1
  4. That makes sense as to why Buffel isnt playing. But id still play him 3 games to see if he is worth it. McEveley was impressive against Man U yesterday and doesnt look a bad player. Burke will be another who goes to Cardiff
  5. Just print out the post
  6. I was watching bits of the game and there was no way 55,000 at the game. It was nearer 45,000. But we'd taken a draw before it started, its just annoying they got there usual late goal. They have Falkirk in midweek but they wont be able to take a 6 point lead with us having 2 games in hand so its happy days if we win our 2 games.
  7. Wasnt a bad game and Birmingham had a few chances in the 2nd half. A bit unlucky to lose a 92nd min goal.
  8. I thought they werent playing We should have been playing but not on Sunday. That was stuipid from Setenta - we shold have moved the game back to Saturday, but if it helps us so be it.
  9. He was 34 last week. Without doubt the best servant to the Premiership and Rio Ferdinand put out a few comments about him aswell that he is a underrated player. I agree and for me he is on par with the best ever in the Premiership in a number of catergories.
  10. FUCKING HELL!!!!!!!! I had: Leeds (won 4-0) Chelsea (won 2-0) Everton (won 3-0) Leyton O (won 2-0) Hereford (won 3-1) MK Dons (won 5-0) I was waiting on Wolves in the 5:20pm K/o and they lost 3-2 to Burnley :uzi: That was a 200 quid coupon - Wolves you are official wanks
  11. Sore one Ian, almost as sore as my coupon!!
  12. Ive got 3 of them 5 on a accumlator and I looked at the other 2 aswell so I think you could have a winner there Ian pal
  13. Your 4fold win may come up, i fancy both Merseyside and Edinburgh clubs today. But my draw coupon is almost buggared already - Portsmouth are 2-0 at half time against Villa. The second goal was an absolute screamer!! And Pompey derserve there lead. This is the first of 9 Prem games live on TV this weekend
  14. Fanny!
  15. Anyone having a flutter? I havent done the draws for a while so may have a treble Villa v Portsmouth Newcastle v Birmingham Norwich v Sheff U
  16. Thats always been my answer. Its never came down to a choice of one or the other, and with the size of our squad we have enough depth to compete in both.
  17. Fraser, thats a day off school for you with Gersnet's permission The fans have to be right up for this one for 90 mins. As Gav says we can go quiet at times, and at the Barca game we seemed to only have about 3 songs (sounded like that on telly). But again as Gav said back in 99/00 the atmosphere lasted 90 mins. But im sure this one will as its almost like a cup final with something at stake rather than a normal group game.
  18. Bit in bold - I hope not!! Aberdeen v Kilmarnock - Draw Celtic v St Mirren - Home win Falkirk v Dundee Utd - Away win Hearts v Motherwell - Home win or maybe draw Inverness v Hibernian - Draw Rangers v Gretna - Match postponed but Home win on the littlewoods pools coupon - remember Grandstand used to do that with cancelled games, they would still read out there prediction.
  19. Dirty N London Bassa's!! :uzi: They have links to Aberdeen and now they sing Hail Hail. They are 1 club ive never had time for.
  20. So maybe he was shite after all!! What happened to the Le Guen that won 3 titles at Lyon.
  21. If you check the Newcastle v Arsenal thread you'll see I was up at 5am my time to watch that game which was now a full 11 hours and 15 mins ago
  22. I was up 9 hours before of the Tull mate, its past tea time here
  23. I was going to post this aswell. Shows that the guy is on another planet when they are sitting 2nd bottom.
  24. Abroad?? It would have been Blackpool mate

    Latest Rants

Defeat would taste like failure but im optimistic and fancy us to get at least the draw we need. No doubt about it though, Lyon have picked up after there sloppy start and thats one thing we have to be wary of. The longer it stays 0-0 will be equally nailbiting for them. The chosen line up will be interesting. With Darch out then surely there is a shout for a man like Buffel to play behind Cousin to help us get that goal we need?? Ive never lost interest in the Premiership and in the last 2 seasons with the great amount of games i get Ive went onto like it even more. Agreed about Arsenal - I dont think there is a football fan in the world who could not enjoy watching them. I did enjoy Man U last season - I thought they were terrific and I had a nice bet on them winning the league. I think we have agreed on the MAn U hatred thing before. In the 90s they were the team to hate but since 2002/03 there arrogance seemed to disappear andsince then i can now watch them no problem at all. It used to be if they were on TV on a CL wed night, id switch off as soon as they were 1 up. Im hoping Arsenal win it aswell but I think it is a 4 horse race now. Dont rule out Liverpool either. If they win there game in hand then they are level with Man U. Next Sunday (15th Dec) will be a treat - Liverpool v Man U then Arsenal v Chelsea.
