  1. Why we linked with more strikers. We still have....: Darcheville (when fit) Novo McCulloch Naismith Boyd Gow? Buffel? With Larsen likely to come in aswell! ....who can all play upfront - we should be looking at creative midfielders. Those above in the list will get us goals, we just need midfielders / defenders IMO. We need to move on others first before we buy more strikers. Either Boyd, Buffel and Gow are involved or they are not.
  2. Not really off topic mate - its a Cousin thread But agreed, i was thinking the exact same thing - 3 million for a 30 year old who we only paid 1.1 million for in the summer!! Theat has to be the best way of looking at it (and the fact he will be relegated in the summer - Fulham are almost a banker to go down now).
  3. Agreed Cammy, and I think you posted something similar last year. Have to say my opinions on Man U have changed over the years. 10 years I couldnt stand Man U. But have grown to respect them and are far from my worst english team now. Times change but Liverpool seem to be the club i cant be done with at the moment. They seem to live in a fantasy they they are the team who have a devine right to win things, they are living in past glories. They also take a bit of pity on themselves due to past disasters and use this for self promotion. Dont get me wrong we all think these disasters are a tradegy but one has to wonder why they happen to Liverpool all the time. However at the moment i feel for rafa due to his treatment by the american owners.
  4. bye bye Cousin. All I can say is he is mad to give up playing at Ibrox and with a superb chance of medals this season to go and play at the 2nd worse stadium in the Premier League and be relegated.

Exactly. Lets start fishing in the eastern european / african countries for younger players at a snip and getting a scout out and about in Holland, Denmark etc.
  6. We just cant compete with the english prices. For us to buy a 3.5 million player is huge for us these days and he is not even a first choice pick at his club. This time last year Gabby Agbonlahar would have been about the same price before playing a lot but now he would go for about 8 million. I wonder if we could get him on loan first.
  7. I cant believe they used the word "plead" to Man U in there letter. :admin: Man U stick with the silence http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7201817.stm
  8. The whole saga has been a bit wrong. It makes McGhee, Burns and Souness look at bit shite now. No wonder Billy Davies pulled out with the interview thing. TBH Im not really overjoyed with this appointment but he was probably my first choice out of the 4 candidates. He's struggled a wee bit this season, but he did well with Ipswich and Hearts so thats to be considered. Hopefully he takes in a really good number 2 (Joe Jordan or Gary McAllister - but he'll not take it).
  9. Quite happy about that, i didnt mind Fulham under Coleman. He had them in mid table and now they are going down. Until Roy Hodgson gets a haircut I cant look at him
  10. Me and you are just meant to be I fancied Spurs last night but not to win with a score like that. Last week I said it would be an Everton v Spurs final with Everton winning the cup. I still go by that. I think Arsenal needed that kick up the ass if they want to win the league. Wenger will need to pick them up and they can afford to be out this tournament with 3 others to play for. Also got a tenner on Torres as top league scorer at 16/1. He's only 6 behind Ronaldo so its possible.

Some good shouts in there: Only an excuse Trigger Happy Borat Again, they are all more towards the british sense of humour.
  12. Yip we should bite there hand off at 3 million especially for a guy who wants to go. He'll end up being relegated and be another who regrets leaving. Id like to hear the actual comments from him or his agent first all the same!
  13. Similar to the discussion we had with us. This will be interesting to see what happens. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7201817.stm Its Man Utd's call and if any City fan cant be an adult and conduct themselves propertly they should enter the stadium 1 min after kick off.
  14. G Graham and J Jordan would be my top realistic choice for manager and assistant. They definatly have the credentials for it.
  15. The Luke Moore rumour has been doing the rounds. Id like to see this one even if we got him on loan to see what he could do. I think we may have to admit to Hutton leaving sooner rather than later which is a shame. I think it could be out of his hands and Murray wants the 9 million plus. Cuellar would be a massive loss, hopefully thats a nonsense.

Comedy wise its all down to preferrence but I find the British Sense of humour far greater than the americans. That doesnt mean to say they cant produce good comedies. However they are very different. For me Only Fools and Horses is our best standout but im not sure if it would go down well across the pond as when it comes to sense of humour us Brits traditionally find different things funny.
  17. Yeah it seems we are doing this, so drainage and light solutions would be a start. Im getting more and more towards the idea of summer football. Id miss the Xmas program but for the good of our game it think its time to switch the season from Feb to Nov.
  18. Cousin would be mad to go to Fulham, they are hot favourties to go down with Derby at the moment. But it depends on his wishes, if he doesnt want to stay with us then id let him go.
  19. Interesting to read some views on McCulloch. He got himself off to such a good start aswell!! But he has went off the boil a little. Id still keep him in my plans though, he has a bit more of an end product than Burke. I think Naismith could come good but Burke has proved for years he has lacked a final pass or cross. Beasley was just beginning to come onto a game aswell when he got injured, but agreed, he would be my first pick for LW when fit. Im another who wants to see 4-4-2 but I still dont think we hav the midfield for it. We have the players but still no creation. Is there a shout for having a try with my old favourtie 3-5-2 with the current crop??
  20. I see what your saying Gav and it hasnt been pretty this week at all. But I was just having a wee look at the league table and would take our current situation over what we have had in the past few years. Without being pretty we have managed to get ourselves ahead in the league and in 15 short weeks we could be league champions again, with a few cups in the bag again. Now that Walter has turned us round hopefully we can start to play better football. Id like to see better play but still rather be ahead of Celtic this way. One thing about Smith is, he has made us very difficult to beat. He favours this 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 but for me, all he needs is to make a few changes and we will play better. Id put Novo back on the right and Buffel / Gow in for Naismith and keep Cousin upfront. In the last few years we've had the same dire stuff under McLeish and ended up losing games like Inverness away. Persevere
  21. http://www.openlist.com/-/detail/k/Glasgow+Beauty+Salons/ole/131713018/olpn/Natural+Bridge+Hair+and+Barber+Shop/oll/Glasgow,+VA/olv/local/ We'll round 5p each:thup:
  22. I know its been on before but this is stilla must watch!! Skip the first minute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy7ApYkGEiU WE ARE THE PEOPLE
  23. Anyone have a flutter yesterday?? I had 15 quid 4 fold which was buggered. Blackburn to beat Middlesboro - 1-1 Spurs to beat Sunderland - 2-0 Carlisle to beat someone? - 1-0 Leeds to beat doncaster - 0-1 Glad 2 buggered me, i dont like when its 1 team that lets me down! Everton are 5/4 to beat Wigan today so il have a bit of that, maybe with a treble of: Everton 5/4 Rangers 8/13 West Ham 11/4 tenner returns 125 quid.
  24. Listening to a debate about who should get the scotland job. I still cant believe we havent approached George Graham. We should be going to the best possible person. Obviously Sir Awex wont take it so we should work our way down the list - George Graham ticks all the boxes and has won the top league in england. Imagine comparing him with Mark McGhee?? What are the condentials here? McGhee is a good man and is doing well with MOtherwell, he handled himself with good dignity over the Phil O Donnell issue but thats not a reason to give him the job. Why are we not looking at Venebles aswell? We should be going for the best man possible and not JUST a scotsman!! If you were asked to pick someone for the Arsenal job should Wenger leave and given the option of Burley, McGhee or Venebles who would you pick?? No brainer - Venebles!! We HAVE to build on the good job Smith did and qualify for the next world cup. I dont think Burley, Burns, McGhee or Souness will make any improvement where as Venebles or Graham would. Its going to be one of that 4 but im hoping the SFA wake up before appointing one of them.
