  1. Got quite a few good live games on the telly tonight: Mansfield v Boro Gers v St Mirren Villa v Blackburn Arsenal v Newcastle Liverpool v H&W Wigan v Chelsea I'll start of obviously with the Gers game but il be keeping an eye on Arsenal v Newcastle - that could be a cracker and I can see Newcastle earning a reply. Villa v Blackburn is too tough to call, i did fancy a draw but it could go any way. Liverpool and Boro should cruise it. And Chelsea will go up to Wigan and turn them over the way they are playing just now.
  2. Hibs v Gretna off aswell - I was lucky, i was just about to put Hibs on my coupon and caught it on my screen.

    Thomas Buffel

Thats the purpose and beauty of a forum - to disagree at times
  4. Im going for Aberdeen v Hearts - Home win Hibernian v Gretna - Home win Kilmarnock v Dundee Utd - Draw Motherwell v Inverness CT - Home win Rangers v St Mirren - Home win Falkirk v Celtic - Draw and Strachan to quit after the game!!

    Thomas Buffel

Absolutely!!! Im trying to work out why people are saying he has had chance after chance after chance - he has been injured for a year and previous to that was played out of position so he has barely had a chance to play in the role we know he can do. Where at the same time there are plenty other players who have no consistancy who do play. As for Lovenkrands yet again I was a fan of his when he was on his game. He was certainly one who stood out in the bigger matches. Someone posted this the other day and its absolutely spot on - Some Gers fans dont like someone unless they only give 110% grit and dont like them unless they arent putting in solid tackles. Is that really showing they are committed to the shirt?? IMO i would rather see a mix of those who get stuck in (Thomson / Ferguson) then put them in the team withthose who have the talent and ability to play football how it should be played (Buffel / Lovenkrands / Hemdani). I really dont think its a coincedence that we havent won a trophy for a few years simply due to us having so many average players and no talent in the team.
  6. But I didnt add that i do like it!!
  7. I just have a feeling. Man city have hit a bit of a brick wall and are shite away from home. I dont like Sheff U but the support there can get right behind there team and its been a season for EPL clubs being knocked out.
  8. Had a wee snatch at the coupon. I have a feeling for Sheff U to beat Man city and il take your West Brom bet. Other than that Aston Villa v Blackburn to be a draw. So that could be my treble.
  9. Wouldnt be a bad shout but i think his ego says he is bigger than a No.2.
  10. Its got NFL written all over it. But that new kop stand looks good and is planned to hold 18000 alone.
  11. Just beat me to it! Strange one if its true. Id be going for Joe Jordon or Gary McAllister to come in part time and have someone else full time.
  12. I read Chick Youngs article on the BBC and he said the same thing that Burley must be thinking what time is the next train to Southampton.

Talking of Ronnie Barker then - The 2 Ronnies was quite good!
  14. Did it not win? Look at the tip though - "Fancied" only whereas the first one was a sure thing. I like the term for Intersky charm - penalty without a keeper
  15. Intersky Charm was 11/4 and now just moved into 9/4. Worth a punt. But Ladbrokes fancy it for finish only - but they will say that to make money - il keep my eyes on it. A double with that and the first horse would have been a good bet.

    Thomas Buffel

Id play them both and actually think Ferguson would strive from playing with Buffel

    Thomas Buffel

I dont think he's alone in that category though. Even Barry Ferguson has his fair share of poor games and Charlie Adam is another who is prone to a nightmare quite regularly yet still appears quite a lot. It seems Buffel just gets singled out. Id have in my team 100 times out of 100 over the likes of Adam. Im not saying Adam is a rotten player, he came up with 10 goals last season but those goals had to come from somewhere.
  21. Much can be debated about Walters tactics in SPL / Euro games and his choice selections. But I wonder how he feels being back at Rangers with the club being ran totally different. He no longer can buy multi million pound players and has to pick and scrape from the bottom end of the market and the club are a selling club if the opportunity comes around - although in Cousin's case our hands are tied as he wanted the move - but in Alan Hutton's case the player wants to stay at lease until the end of the season. TBH he hasnt done too badly so far with some buys in certain areas. He's done well with McGregor in goal and brought him on to be a fine keeper. Cuellar at the back has been a bright spark for 95% of the season, I just hope we can hold onto him. Davie Weir has been solid throughout but needs a break at the moment. In midfield McCulloch and Thomson have been popular. McCulloch was a preferred signing of mine and got off to a great start this season but went off the boil for a few games but I expect him to be back to his best soon. Thomson remains a popular player with the fans. We'll see a bit more from Naismith soon IMO and hopefully Darcheville can stay clear of injuries for a while. In the last 12 months we have went from being a disaster to title challengers. Dont get me wrong Celtic arent a top club - they have some on field problems at the moment in the SPL - but I think credit can be given to Walter for putting us in the situation we are in again and playing in 4 competitions as we head towards the end of January. We can only ask for a bit more attractive football and that may take a little bit longer but should come.
  22. Ok, one last plead to give this guy another chance. I've read a few other posters also saying they are a fan of his and he should get some playing time. So I'm glad im not on my own here. Interesting to read another poster (think it was Alan) saying he could be the difference in winning the league - someone else obviously rates him! He is the type of player we need and would cost a few million to buy. There is no way David Murray will buy a player that costs more than 2 million so why not give Feyenoord the 400k they will get after he plays 3 more games. I can't work out why some fans say he is a passenger - he is being paid a wgae by the club therefore should be earning his keep on the pitch - it's up the manager to get him playing. Or what does it say about our club when we are trying to offload our best player and in Hutton's case even pay him to leave (if that rumour is true!). Does Murray want the club in the black so he can get a seller?? But in the mean time what about the fans who bank roll him with so much money - we continue to get average players from smaller clubs??
  23. I see 1 or 2 have been giving some good reports on Tam Buffel. The comments have been right - to get another player in with his talent would cost millions - Walter HAS to play him. Gow needs a wee run in the first team aswell - he surely cant be any worse than Charlie Adam.
  24. You'll get a packet of Wine gums maybe!
  25. Now I dont agree with that. Although I do think the other team and fans have to respect the decision made whether it be applause or silence. The way I see it is your showing your respect by doing something for that minute. When someone dies we say you should celebrate that persons life and in war hero's you'd want to applaude their efforts. When your football team scores a goal your celebrating the achievement byt cheering - you dont stand in silence for a minute. I think either silence or applause is appropriate, its just you can identify the morons easily in the silence. The other season when John Lyall died Aston Villa put on a minute silence for West Ham but the West Ham fans chanted him name for that minute and nobody thought it was disrepectful - even the family preferred it to the silence.
