Its absolute tragic IMO. This is by far my fave song. This is the song that is almost associated with Rangers. Im totally all for the 'proper' words 'we are the Rangers boys'...... But the worst thing about is the rest of the SPL can sing the same tune with "ha ha ha ha ha ha..." plus the EPL clubs can sing it (eg Man U) We are the Busby boys....... So where is FIFA's Consistancy here????
-
Is there any word in the UK about getting this song back?? I think its absolute mental that the "elite" can rule this a non song!!! But that my personal thoughts. Surely the RST have discussed this. There are far worse songs thank this. IMO this song was a symbol of RANGERS - not the junk words - but the HULLO HULLO - saying we are there!!

That Gazza goal will go down as a landmark!!! That was awesome when he lifted his shirt above his neck!! Set up by a Coisty cross aswell!!!

That game at Hampden will NEVER leave my memory. It seems like a 2 day thing. Our bus was only Half filled and we got into Hampden about 1pm (2pm K/o) and in came John Brown, Ian Durrant and Gordon Durie into the Gers end. Durranty was 2 rows behind me and I had a wee chat with him. It was Alan McLarens debut, and he ran out first for a warm up and the 4000 bears gave him a huge cheer. After that all i can remember was singing for 90 mins NON STOP!!!! There will be plenty guys on here who have went to Celtic away but that day was amazing!!!! The Bounce when Laudrup scored the 3rd was out of this world.

You must have got bummed that night!

Gav he must be sick of the site of you! You see him everywhere. He puts petrol in his car and your there buying a microvable pie in the garage!

I fancy that bar Man U. I think Spurs will get a point. Although it is a flying Man U were taling about so there is a chance!

I agree with your other points but I find the 'on the park' interesting. He signed a 3 yr deal which isnt massive in football terms but surely he'd be looking at this job as his last. Who would suceed him? Personally i really dont see Coisty as a straight replacement at the moment. Obviously we dont have hindsight as to what happens but the club has 2 experiences to follow from recent Scottish managers. I think a lot may depend on what happens with the SPL / Atlantic league (if thats still in progress). No doubt the support wants success and progression but theres a limit in Scotland.

I see your point of view and i cant see it working well due to Butcher being a poor coach. Many Bears think he cant coach worth a cent but IMO il go with Burleys point of view. End of the day, if the players repsect him then that will put aside what the fans think.

You'll know better than me Frankie, but can Walter bring back good days again? TBH he is pretty much on course this season so far coz we are STILL in 4 competitions, but it must be a total different job for him this time round. From over this end of the globe i pretty much go by what is said on this forum and dont get a feel for the fans mood at all. I know 9IAR was a one-off and we wont get that again this era but when i look at it from a scale point of view he has got us back to the minimum where should be in 12 months!

Hello mate!! Welcome aboard!!!

Just watching that video where we out sang Easter Rd, and was thinking if we had a fit Dado Prso in the team now we could be awesome!! The big man had everything in his game! Then if you think about having Prso then you gotta put Albertz and Laudrup in the current squad and then it goes into dreams.... Fook me, im blarring old songs and watching Gers clips on youtube and realised how good we were in the 90s.

I hope you had a wash before coming on!! Fair enough, we often welcome the balanced celtic supporter and enjoy mature debate with them. You seem pretty level headed despite choosing to support the dark side!!

I've got a 1990's CD on at the moment and loads of songs are bringing back great memories of going to Ibrox on a saturday with my mate on the train from Aberdeen. It was magical days out during 9IAR. Im trying to find the best game for me but i cant see past our 3-1 win against Celtic at Hampden in 1994. They were playing there for the season in the league while the pigsty got done up. Hateley took the lead then Van Hooijdonk scored. Hateley put us back infront then Laudrup scored a wonder solo to win the match 3-1!!! October 30th 1994!!! By far my best Gers memory!!!

Scotzine, out of interest, who do you support?

Same again on Sunday!!! WATP

Yip agreed there mate. He is playing well below england standard and his season is the opposite of the UK's. Capello took the correct decision here. When Beckham is fit then he is still probably a first pick as he gives that something extra to the team but that could have been under Mclarens team. Capello is starting afresh and picked the correct right sided players.

Aye, I well thought the new stand which is opposite from the camreas looked huge from outside. The stands behind the goals arent the biggest. I watched Liverpool v Chelsea at Anfield last august in the Blu Bar outside the ground. Atmosphere was superb and they sang for 90 mins. I was alone as the misses didnt want to go to the pub and if i had a few more nips id have been up singing the Gers songs to them. That trip made me stop disliking Chelsea as i was impressed with them.

Disappointing Transfer Window but No Excuses Please

What i fear most about Huttons move is his mind state that he may not want to be there and wish he was still at Ibrox. Then he ends up not playing well and the Spurs fans get on his back and think he is a flop. I hope he adjusts to life down there straight away and shows them how good he is. Its never easy moving away, i went to London when i was 10 but soon loved it, then came to Singapore alone at 26, but you have just got to get on with it and move on. Saying that if he gets homesick and wants a move back id be more than happy if he pulls on the jersey again. He is by a mile the best talent we have produced. -
Yip I know where you are there. Not far from Green Pk underground station and close to 'The Ritz' - fine location. I was in my element there last august. Ive got a few pics of Stamford Bridge i may put up, its nice set up they have there.
-
Yip agreed. I always said Weir will never last a full season regardless how much of an asset he has been. With 7 games this month (shortest month of the year) we're going to need our important players fit, so id leave Weir out again where we can (probably Falkirk and Gretna).
-
Joe Jordan should have been a country mile ahead of him in the Scotland No.2 stakes. Even Richard Gough should have been included IMO. Way ahead of Pressley anyway.
-
Where did you stay in London? I stayed at the Millenium Hotel at Stamford Bridge when i was there in August, cracking hotel for a very decent price in the west end.

New thread for Feb! Had a wee snatch at tomorrows kooPon and so far i think: Man City v Arsenal - Away win Wigan v West Ham - Away win Spurs v Man Utd - draw

Disappointing Transfer Window but No Excuses Please
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Great stuff Frankie. Im not too dishearted we didnt pull in extra faces simply because I look at it form a larger scale. This time last year we were a absolute shambles and were struggling all over the park. At the start of this season a lot of Bears said we would sacrife the title if it meant stability but closing the gap on Celtic. Basically WS picked us up too quickly as we went on a good run in the 2nd half of last season. In the summer our squad numbers increased and coming round to this transfer window we didnt need too much new faces. We do need full back cover, we needed that before Hutton left. We have 3 squad keepers but Im only really confident with McGregor in goal at the moment, the other 2 dont do much for me. We all know we have lacked a creative player for years - so step forward Buffel - if WS plays him. But our numbers upfront are pretty decent, we have a good 6 players who can play there. I suppose being Rangers fans we expect a decent name or 2 coming in during the transfer window and we didnt get that. However if we stay clear of a few injuries then there is no reason why we cant win a double or a treble. The cups are a lottery but we are in pole position in the league and are definatly strong enough to go on and win it which would be massive in terms of how far WS has taken us (after a 3rd and 2nd finish) and not to mention financially as it gains entry to the CL.
