If they are not practising that in general then questions should be asked what on earth they do in training. Surely Shooting has to be part of the training schedule for strikers.

Its a pity he doesnt go back to his old 3-5-2 but get players in the right positions this time. That way we could fit in Boyd (however I wouldnt start him) plus keep 3 central midfielders and 2 wide men.

Rangers 0 : 0 Panathinaikos - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree with Pete and Alan, CC is far ahead of Ferguson for me. Alan Hutton would still be my current choice though. -
Thats a great result for Aberdeen, ok its the UEFA cup but to draw and maybe deserve more against Bayern Munich would be a great result for many better teams than Aberdeen. The sheep are a very very average side but you have to say thats the way to play in europe - have a go at teams when your at home.

George Graham would easy have been a popular choice amoungst fans. If we got him with a good assistant like Joe Jordan then we would have been a very solid side IMO and id fancy our chance to qualify. I just purely rate El Tel as a manager and always have done. Granted he hasnt been doing much lately but that doesnt mean to say he has become a bad coach.

He died the night before the final and was cloned. But agreed, could have been one of the best but he decided to go down the same road as John Hartson and couldnt stop eating and it finished him. He is still probably on silly money at Milan though.

Not Sky mate, he'll be out my way AGAIN like he was after the West Brom job. Then our pish but pretentious pundits will be all over him like a rash.
-
George Graham for me. But I actually dont mind the Burley appointment, I think he is a good manager but Id have liked to have seen a few better names in the shortlist rather than Burns, Davies and McGhee. Obviously Scotlands 'A' list of managers (Sir Awex, Moyes, etc) were out of reach but I never heard George Graham's name mentioned once. I thought we could have looked abroad or England. Terry Venebles would have been another id have been happy with.

There is no doubt about it, he sets the stall out not to lose games and relies on our better players having enough to create something in the 90 mins that will win us the game - and its working. Against Celtic is a different matter - he just knows how to win these games.

Good thread Mike. Having everyone on top of their game and at full fitness my team would be 4-4-1-1: __________________McGregor________________ Whittaker______Weir_______Cuellar______Smith Novo________Ferguson____Hemdani____Beasley ______________Buffel________________________ ___________________Cousin__________________ Or 3-5-2: __________________McGregor________________ ________Weir_______Cuellar______Webster_____ ____________Thomson_____Hemdani__________ Novo_______________Buffel____________Beasley ____________Darcheville___Cousin_____________

Ooh!! Sorry to hear that mate, but it did make me smile coz I didnt bet it.

Nobody said they will go on and be world champions but they, like England, have shown ambition to go out and get a top drawer manager - something I thought Scotland should have done.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_utd/7238885.stm Robson was a fine player but he is the prime example that good players dont always make good managers. He is a shocking boss. He buggered up at Middlesboro, West Brom and now Sheff Utd. Retire son!!

After reading the line up then the match discussion I find WS selections nothing short of a disgrace. At the back he has a solid keeper and a solid back 4 that is tough to break down. The last thing he needs is 3 central midfielders with NONE of them being attack minded. Then he plays someone on the left who is Sunday league material at best - Charlie Adam is absolute rank rotten. I was glad to see Novo got a start, he should have been given that months ago but agree with Craig earlier, Burke didnt really warrent to be dropped, but Novo should have been ahead of Burke around Sept / Octo time. Upfront is baffling. For Smith to play McCulloch there is out of the Alex McLeish baffling book. Tactics: 4-5-1 at Ibrox against a average european side :admin: Its just asking for a 0-0. We should be having a go at these teams and using attack minded players.

Didnt go for a bet in the end . And glad, Dundee Utd would have cost me. I was going for: Marseille 3-0 PSV 2-0 Sporting Lisbon 2-0 Werder Bremen 3-0 Hibs 4-2 Dundee Utd 0-1 That would have been a sickener
-
All things aside - formation, attitude etc - I say play him.
-
Yeah spot on there in the first paragraph which is what ive said. If its one upfront then Cousin is the only man for the job. If its 2 up top then any 2 can play. Second point - what does that say about our current strikers if he has grown in stature!!!
-
Picked out a 6-fold but havent backed it yet due to my bad luck. But what happened 2 saturdays ago when I never backed that treble on here - it came up.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7242896.stm Great appointment for Oorland. I picked this section out though: After seeing his record and seeing England take Capello with an equally impressive, record if not better, it makes the Scotland appointment a little unadventurous amongst other things. Ireland and England come out of rucks with top top class appointments yet when we are on a high we should have been looking for a top class manager to carry the can yet we had Burns, McGhee, Souness, Davies and Burley in the running with the latter getting the job and appointing Terry Butcher as assistant!. I quite like Burley and think he may be ok but seeing those 2 get world class managers tones the Burley appointment down a bit.
-
Yet you may get the same with Adam, McCulloch or Boyd. The first 2 have been poor of late and the latter is 50/50 with the fans at this level. Yet I havent been to Obrox for a while so I dont know the general feeling bar from on here.
-
They are another team who has cost me about 3 or 4 times this season. But last night I thought they were a banker. They were the shortest odds out of the teams I had on last night.
-
First point - Disagree with - thats the last reason we should play him, we dont owe Fulham anything. 2nd point - agreed - Cousin is definatly the only choice for me when playing 4-5-1. And finally - Agreed - play him
-
Yeah he is a poor right or left winger which is where he spent most of his time. But as a attacking midfield / striker your opinion may change.
-
How can you say that when we are playing utter boring football just now? Its all about opinions, you rate Boyd and I dont. You say he scores goals I say he fluffs double the chances he takes and goes 4 games without scoring then scores 1 against poor opposition.
-
And at the same time, probably good attractive winning football for Rangers. But we'll never know eh!!
