  1. Anyone having another flutter and feeding the bookies money this weekend? Tough coupon to predict. But i fancy West Ham strongly today along with a draw at Easter Road. A ten quid double returns 160 quid!
  2. Pete does this for the SPL matches so il do one for the Premier down south: Arsenal v Aston Villa Big game for the Gunners. They have reported to have lost an edge since the FA cup game at Man Utd. They couldnt ask for a tougher home match at the moment with Villa giving 4th place a real go. Arsenals record against Villa is superb but its a good time for Villa to try and change that. Arsene Wenger has to settle his players down and start a fresh in the run in. Very narrow home win. Birmingham v Tottenham Birmingham got a great point against the other north london club last weekend that was overshadowed by Eduardo's injury. They will have to scrap home points if they are to stay up. Spurs are gloating from winning the league cup last sunday. If they carry on the momentum they could go on a great run and finish in the top 8 after a shocking start this season. I think this will finish a draw though. Derby v Sunderland Paul Jewell came out in midweek and practically said his players are shit - but we all knew that. He has given them a slaughtering and has said he will make lots of changes this week. It may be a kick up the ass for them despite being 4 months too late. Sunderland are in a real relegation scrap and are poor away from home. This is a championship match IMO but Im going for a rare Derby win. Fulham v Man Utd Fulham can buy a win at the moment despite being unlucky in many games all season. They have to start start getting points soon or they are down. They do have a good chance of survival if they get 2 wins in the next few weeks. Man Utd are flying but may rest a player or 2 with Lyon coming up in midweek. I have a sneaky feeling for a draw here. Man City v Wigan Man City have came back down to earth after there great start. They wont rule out a place in europe yet and will fancy 3 points today. Wigan are doing well at the moment, Steve Bruce has got them out of the bottom 3 and are only 2 points behind Newcastle. But they will be back in a relegation battle in the next few weeks - Home win Middlesbrough v Reading Boro are on a bit of a role also with only 1 defeat in 10. Reading are in free fall with 8 straight defeats. If that doesnt stop soon they will go down. For a relegatiobn battle Boro seem high favourties here. But they had 120 mins against Sheff Utd in midweek. Readings run has to stop somewhere and they may get a point today. Newcastle v Blackburn Newcastle are a laughing stock. I keep expecting them to get a result somewhere but they keep losing. If Keegan doesnt get a win soon they will be in deep trouble. I dont know what it is but I just see another twist coming at St James' Pk soon which will see someone high profile leaving. Blackburn are a well run club and a match for anyone on there day. They will fancy this trip today and Sparky Hughes will try and take advantage of the poor Newcastle situation. Score draw for me. West Ham v Chelsea Banker home win! But for the first time since his appointment - Avram Grant has a bit of media attention his way with his selections for the cup final which he was expected to win. He has got selection problems due to the great squad he has and he cant work out how to fit them now that they are all available. West Ham have had some poor home draws against Reading, Bolton and Birmingham this season. Had they taken them then they would be well in for europe. They have beaten Liverpool and Man U at home though. They also have only lost 2 games in 18 which is a great run. They havent beaten Chelsea for a long time and it will end today - home win! Sunday: Bolton v Liverpool Bolton are tough at home. Gary Megson had a small revival which has disappeared lately. They will be in the scrap right until the end. Liverpool are a scaled down version of Newcastle at the moment and with Inter away coming up Rafa is likely to rotate again. If he doesnt rotate and Liverpool's first XI turn up they should ease this game but I dont see that happening and expect a draw. Everton v Portsmouth Two very good teams. Everton are superbly run at the moment and pushing for a 4th place. They look like they will get it aswell. Pompey are great on the road but dont have the free flowing football they had when Benjami was upfront. Defoe and Baros give something different. This could be game of the weekend but I fancy a home win.
  3. Gribz

    Nacho Novo

Whats the story with his contract? Is he out of a deal at the summer? He is a player we should tie down for another 3 years. He loves the club, plays with a smile on his face and gives everything - an asset IMO. He always offers something coming off the bench in any game. He is the sort of squad player we need and at the moment should be in the first XI. Probably one of my fave Gers players at the moment.
  4. I'll go: Draw Draw Dundee Utd Inverness Kilmarnock Rangers
  5. Gribz

    Nacho Novo

Great stuff Nacho - And he should be first pick at the moment, he deserves it
  6. Great read, but id swap Gazza with Laudrup in that 4-4-2 above
  7. Was very happy to hear this!! He could blast us to the league plus the next phase of the UEFA cup!!! If his attitude is right then he is by far the best striker at our club
  8. Smith needs time time and time!! Papac has been great of late and doesnt deserve to be dropped. Bring Smith back gradually for me - blend him in for next season.
  9. No! I give Fergie 3 games before he starts tracking back. BUT i Bet he wont start mumping at Dailly - thats one player who will at last stick up for himself and tell BF to fuck off when they get moaned at. Im pretty happy with Dailly signing!!!
  10. McAvennie will pocket a few bob for creating the wee cunt!!!
  11. Id of thought you were joking there if you werent from the Highlands!!!
  12. I was a rare supporter who thought both would be good signings. Dailly is still fit and always plays well for Scotland. Ive never worked out where the criticisim comes from him. He should breeze the SPL. Davis impressed me when he started out at Villa. MON just didnt seem to rate him and he got stuck at Fulham.
  13. Try stick to them if possible lads, Friday morning would be good or Pm to me on Thursday night and il post on Friday morning my time Fixtures subject to change: (once we stuff Hibs in the cup ) 1st March - Aberdeen (H) - SPL - Craig 6th March - Werder Bremen (H) - UEFA - Alan 9th March - Hibs (H) - SFACup - Frankie 13th March - Werder Bremen (A) - Gribz 16th March - Dundee Utd (Hampden) - LC Final - Ascender 22nd March - Hibs (H) - SPL - Stewarty 29th March - Celtic (H) - SPL - Super Ally
  14. Did you not rate Pele mate? Plus you can have Ruud Gullit as manager
  15. Fabulous Pete, You;ll make Grandstand yet.
  16. Davis followed by Dailly for me. Thought those 2 were superb. Plus I thought Carlos and Nacho played well. Cant see where everyone says Ferguson was back to a great game. I thought he was very average in the first half bar the pass for the goal which was great. He was better in the 2nd half and another good move for the 3rd goal, plus he had a good few passes but wasnt MOTM for me Is Tott Booth correct in saying Darcheville hasnt played 90 mins for us? I'll tell you, its due to the bulk on his legs, there is too much muscle there.
  17. Yeah thats a tough 4 games for them. Whilst we have all home games.
  18. Has to be the other half of McAvennies love children with McGeady being the other. Thats scary!! But looks as much like McAvennie as McGeady.
  19. Yeah I thought the same thing when that ham Crocker said the same thing. Its amazing that Scott Booth makes him sound like a good commentator. As for my bets - royal fooked again. Had Boro Dundee Utd Rangers Celtic
  20. Your looking around 7/1 or 8/1 depending on the bookie.
  21. No harm IMO and should be brought back within reason. Probably best not allowed it to be taken to the seats but allow people to have a pint (in plastic cups) down while eating a pie.
  22. I'll go for Draw Celtic Dundee Utd Draw Kilmarnock Rangers
  23. Good game to get fringe players a bit more match practise incase they are needed in the next few weeks.
  24. PS - Ferguson has been very poor / average of late and a rest would have done no harm. I agree with Ascender and Mike that if he is guaranteed a start then it leads to players getting lazy. But there is a correct time to rest Ferguson and that would have beenlast Sunday. I know he is capable of turning a game for us and he is due a good game so id have rested him on Sunday with a big game against Hearts coming up.
  25. Nobody continually wants unproved players to be played, but some of us want them to get a CHANCE especially when others are struggling. You've said it yourself above we are in 4 competitions so our squad should be used a lot better and first team picks should get a rest so there form doesnt dip. Why was it a disater for us last time - because players were played out of position. I dont like to use Celtic as an example but MON get the best out of 3-5-2. Anyway Im all for 4-4-2 if we have the correct players aswell. Precisely - And why is that? Maybe becuase its those who I mention as playing poor continually still being in the team. Maybe of others were given a chance we may have had silverware in the past 2 seasons and not went thorugh out worst patch in some of our lifetimes. Is anyone happy with it week in week out? No Mind reading now are you? IMO he dropped him at the wrong time. Id have dropped him for Gretna last Sunday with Hearts in mind this Wednesday. Nope, I dont play FM if you must know. WS would rightly trounce my football management skills due to experience at the real thing. But Im not alone in saying I dont know what he see's in Adam and i wouldnt be playing him right now - thats one decision id be better than WS right now.
