A bit quiet on the forum just now especially on Rangers chat despite us flying in 4 competitions. I was thinking back to Traynors comments on the UEFA cup and how its maybe a hinderance to our league campaign. Just wanted everyone elses thoughts on it. Is it in the way? Are we taking it seriously? Do we care if we get knocked out from Werder? Can we go further? Can we win it? My take is first and foremost I want the league title. But i dont see how the UEFA cup can stop us winning that - they are exclusive comps. I want to go on and give Werder our best shot, and go on and progress. I really hope WS is taking it serious and giving it his BEST shot. I dont fear them at all and this is the sort of fixture rangers should be going into with confidence. Its an exciting stage as if we win this we are in the last 8 and only 2 games away from the final. We can give anyone a game at Ibrox so if we take a lead to Germany the job is half done. IMO the one thing that is hindering us is the SPL / SFA's incompetance of organising a fixture list. They have zero common sense when it comes to helping THEIR clubs in europe. The simple thing would be from next season put the league cup back to what it used to be and have it done and dusted by October - ot would make it more interesting. For this season the simple thing to do is extend the SPL by 1-2 weeks. Its a free summer so there is no problem.

Chelsea v Olympiakos, (agg 0-0), FC Porto v Schalke 04, (agg 0-1), Real Madrid v Roma, (agg 1-2), I think Chelsea are a home banker. I can see Schalke sneak through with a draw or 2-1 defeat in Porto sending them thru on away goals. Should be a great match in Madrid but i fancy Madrid to turn it round - just. I can see it going to extra time though. Liverpool should be playing Inter but they have a tougher and more important match as West Ham travel to anfield. banker away win

Coupons are :uzi: Darlington won Watford drew Plymouth won Oldham lost Pish

Superb result for the Gooners, i thought they'd get through but not in style like that.

Cant have Bellamy at the moment coz he plays for West Ham Edit - Fuck Me - Roy Keane!!

Cant believe I missed out Balde

I didnt like that Joos Valgaren much. McAvennie was a clown in the match Woods and Butcher got sent off, so could go in for that.

Right then, lets see who we narrow down to the most unliked Celtic XI. We can all list players then put them in a team. I'll start by putting in the gimmies: Arthur Borac has to be the most hated keeper they have had. Anton Rogan will probably fit in at LB (although he was generous at giving us Penalties). But who else in defence - Roy Aitken maybe? Although I dont mind him these days. The midfield HAS to consist of Neil Lennon and Peter Grant. McGeady could figure. Upfront Andy Walker may be a possibility but i dont want to take all the lime light, so il leave it up to all of us: So far thats: Borac Rogan Grant Lennon

AC Milan v Arsenal, (agg 0-0), Barcelona v Celtic, (agg 3-2), Man Utd v Lyon, (agg 1-1), R1, Sevilla v Fenerbahce, (agg 2-3), I can see a score draw at the San Siro with Arsenal going through on away goals. 3 home wins in the other games for me sending all 3 through.

Great stuff Cammy. Im going to add to the Nacho Novo comments. I cant speak highly enough about him at the moment and think he should be starting every game at the moment. He is bursting with life and gives 110% which is exactly what we need going into the last few months of the season. He also isnt far away from bagging a hatfull of goals whilst playing well. On another day against Pana at Ibrox he could have got a hatrick but still popped up with the away goal plus an impressive brace against Hearts. And while we are playing 4-5-1 this suits Novo to play on the right hand side and he can get forward in attack.

Agree on Keegan, i can see him leaving soon. With Newcastle and Birmingham away then Fulham and Spurs after that, they could well go down. I cant see them getting anymore than 4 points from them games. (Draw at Brum and beat Fulham at home).

No! Lets get another straight FFS, I have only ever said I wanted these to get another chance. In my language thats doesnt mean they would be first pick. When will that register with some people? -
I stand corrected. Its just those Chelsea lot arent worth being in the league

He has been a regular for the seasons we havent won a trophy, WS comes in and bit-part plays him and we are still in 4 competitions and id say we will win at least 2 -
Hutton will just have to keep him out of the team again! Dont like Bardsleys attitude but he is a better option than McNaughton and Alexander. However Hutton has this position his own for the next 10 years and Whittaker is fine back up.

You failed to hand in your homework twice. There's a bounce game on next week against Clyde you can do :fish: Ok, Partick's yours when we get through. Stephen, Scooter we do match previews each week and a poster puts it up the day before a game.

What are you smoking??? Klos was never there old man!! :uzi: I should maybe have put Goram in but I only got 10 options and "other" had to go in. Could maybe have swapped him for Albertz. I think your on about the "kill some time" thread where i put a clip up of Klos as they hadnt been up before.

Im not going to mention what I think of Boyd coz its pretty obvious. But yet again people rave about him scoring but nobody mentions he missed the pen in the first place. Only reason he played is coz of JCD and then Cousin was being rested for Werder in midweek. Id have played Nacho well before Boyd. -
Yip and nobody was that over keen on these 2 coming. I certainly was happy about it - 2 players i rate. Dont know what it is about Dailly but he suits the blue jersey. As Hurlock says, the choice for Midfield is as good as its been for a while (except he missed out Faye :fish: ).

I had a fiver on Liverpool to win 4-0 at 40/1. When they went 3-0 up i though it was well on. Fancied a draw until I saw the liverpool team. Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Babel in the midfield - thats as good as it gets for them.

But Everton beat Portsmouth by the same score and move back into 3rd. West Ham travel to Anfield on Wednesday to do the double over them.
-
Yeah would be decent for the night shift here.

Reward for your C+ epic attempt last time round. Must do better

Is BF playing any better though? He was slightly better in the 2nd half against Hearts but that was only one game. What about yesterday? I think in the last 2 games we have to give credit to Dailly aswell. Him being in there allows others to go forward. Hemdani and Thomson may struggle to get back in the first team at the moment. Davis and Dailly cant be dropped just now.

Good start to the game, Bolton hit the bar then a sitter. Liverpool go down the park and get a freak goal. Gerrard hit it and it was going wide but Jasskelainen went for the save, it bounced up of his hand back in front of the goal then the bounce and spin took it into the net - bizarre mistake.
