Yeah, Ive always liked the idea of the Atlantic league. A bit of fairness needs to come in it though with maybe the lowest 2 teams from each country being relegated back to the top division in there country. Im against the likes of the Premier League down south playing matches abroad but that is totally different to leagues merging and I personally would find an Atlantic league with such teams as Calscot has put above far more interesting than the SPL.

Id also ask the question why fix whats not broken? The team has been a success this season so we should only be looking to improve certain areas and areas that are forced upon us. There is nothing we can do about Weir and Dailly ageing and players who accept large offers but as things stand no of this is definate as of yet.

We could go into a different topic altogether with this one and MP's and how much money they waste and use on themselves. But i dont think they need to get involved to revamp the league system, thats up to the footballing bodies. Where governments come into it is what Pete says - the grass roots - but that means encouraging youngsters to get off the couch and put the playstation remote down and stop playing virtual games with there hero's and start playing the game outdoors an pretend to be there hero's. Again summer football would help this, not much youngsters are going to head out after school in November when its raining, windy, cold and will be dark by 4pm.

Super Ally alone won it 9 times as a player. 1983/84 1984/85 1986/87 1987/88 1988/89 1990/91 1992/93 1993/94 1996/97

This is actually quite concerning. We have another thread about possibly departures which has a list of around 8 first team players, yet we can only name 2 strikers and Dod McCartney. What about the other striker from Burnley? Not exactly appealing.

Well worked out Stewarty. Agree with Juff about Dallas, he was by far the best ref we had. Its a shame the way he was treated and practically forced out of the game. Its actually the likes of Dallas who should now be involved with the running of the game due to his experience and knowledge. I dont agree with Ref's being made to retire at a certain age, Collina should still be running games all over Europe.
-
Great chance for him to re-charge his batteries. Hopefully he sits out the Scotland v Croatia game and is fresh for the OF game. How silly are the SFA once again scheduling a Scotland friendly 3 days before an OF game that can decide the title. Idiots.

Are Steven and Darren Fletcher brothers BTW?

Banker draw in the end Still does no favours for either club, brings Newcastle up a place in the league and may give them a bit of confidence that they came from behind. They have Fulham at St James' this weekend which is another massive game, it may actually be make or break for them. If they lose they are in the shit, if they win they may have some breathing space. Bad result for Birmingham though, they should be looking to win these games. They have a few tough but massive games coming up, with trips to relegation strugglers Reading and Wigan either side of Man City.

HUGE game tonight, i may even get up to watch it. I fancy Newcastle to finally get a win under Keegan.

Who do you mean when you say this? The national team or our top flight clubs? The national team arent that far off but on a one game (that internationals mainly are) then there are so many countries who can beat there opposition on there day. Most countries are always going to gather 11 good players. However you dont see England playing many players who are eligible through grandmothers etc. But out top flight clubs are nowhere near Englands. Can you imagine St Mirren playing Everton 4 times a season or Kilmarnock against Tottenham?

Hutton cant be forgotten about, he certainly was POTY for me until he left. But Carlos 1st followed by McGregor. Read the other day if we get to the UEFA and SFA cup finals it means we still have 21 games to play which is enough to put Davis in the top few. Also a mention to Cousin who has been awesome in the big games.
-
Depends who McLeish wants and Birmingham :fish: All the above list are possible movers but i cant see Cuellar leaving. Plus Cousin may still go to Fulham and JCD hasnt even played 90 mins for us yet so whats the point in keeping him?
-
I dont even think Gow has a future at Rangers. Agreed Fleck and Lennon should get some game time. Id still play Buffel. I think him and Davis in the same team would rip opposition apart. They would compensate each other very well. Sad state when people dont want to see us at our best. :box:

Didnt realise Anderson had been punted to Plymouth. They arent doing bad actually. But it was obvious he would be out of his depth in the premier league, another aberdeen flop the same as Jess. Both went to the wrong clubs. Same as Craig Gordon, he should have went to Villa when he had the chance.
-
Seems fine to me but would like to see Quashie back in there when he is fit along with K Thomson and that would give the midfield a more solid look rather than Teale and Robson. Robson was ok for Dundee Utd but looks light weight. Whittaker cant be far off a call up for Hutton back up and S Smith has to get himself back in the Gers team first. Webster needs to get playing again. Broadfoot can just keep plugging away, if Anderson gets in for not playing at Sunderland then he must have a chance. So things looking good from a Rangers perspective.
-
Well said that man!! Both should start against Partick on Wednesday. Its a good chance for the likes of Webster, S Smith and K Thomson to get game time and give those who are running on empty a deserved rest.
-
Finally!!!! A trophy back at Ibrox. 1 down - 3 to go  Well done the lads and the management for the turn around. Credit to Boyd who finally seems like he was the hero Fair play to Dundee Utd, they gave us a game. I wish there chairman well in his fight against cancer and hope they go on and finish 3rd in the league to claim the UEFA cup spot. But thats us with the first one in the bag despite the performance. We have to remember we had a tough 90 mins on thursday against Werder. WS got his team spot on in Germany but where he got credit then, he has to take some flak for getting it a bit wrong yesterday. McCulloch shouldnt play upfront and Burke shouldnt play.
-
....and the breaking news malarky!!:box: I was expecting the team news
-
Not convinced with McCulloch on his own again, but I cant see us losing that with the midfield so packed. Id rather see Burke upfront out of those players with McCulloch on the left and Davis on the right. Although id have had Davis on the centre with Dailly or Hemdani making way. But thats WS side and we accept it. Im confident with that, as I said the midfield is packed and we should control the game.
-
Is that official or your choice chief?? If so, im assuming McCulloch is upfront, but who is playing left??
-
Yeah they did but they cant bring them through all the time. At the moment we have Noble, Anton Ferdinand and the boy Sears who scored yesterday. We want to break into the top 8 then 6 and we wont do that with youth, Man Utd were a one off 15 years ago, so West Ham have to spend money but we need a top manager to do it. Curbs peaks at 8th place.
-
Im glad i dont have it, i cant even get it on radio. BBC are , they give coverage to UK listeners only
-
Id like to see Gow play aswell. This would be good: __________________McGregor___________________ Broadfoot______Weir________Carlos________Papac _______Davis_______Hemdani______Ferguson______ ___Burke____________JCD_____________Gow______ Very tough to leave Dailly out but Hemdani deserves a cup final appearance more IMO. Id bring Buffel on for the last 30, he could run riot on the big hampden pitch.
