Out of interest, who was the commentators and the pundits??
  2. He can go look elsewhere. I didnt want Boumsong to leave at the time but compared to Carlos, it much prefer CC to stay. I actually think he will aswell even if he gets an offer. He doesnt seem like the type who will just jump at the move and seems happy at Ibrox. But his value has to be around the 8 million mark aswell.
  3. Putting Novo on through the middle on his own was an error. He should have went 4-4-2 or put Novo wide in the 4-5-1 and played Boyd to use his strength.
  4. Just dwelling on a few posters mentioning Davis' worst game for us since he has joined. This is after a few also said he didnt have his best game against Celtic last weekend either. The ulsterman had a great start to his gers career and IMO its no coincidence that the reason for poor performances in the last 2-3 games is a result of a) being shifted out to the right to accompany others and b) the return of K Thomson to fitness. Dont get me wrong Im now a fan of Thomson who won me over after a slow start to his own Ibrox career. But IMO you shouldnt try to fix what is not broken - hence the team was doing fine with a central trio with Davis in there. Id has benefitted bring Thommo back in the OF game for instance but whats happens with the fans now if Davis continues to play well in games now - the support will turn against him and be wanting him out of the team. So this makes me think how fast the support were to praise the guy by shouting for his permanent signature and how easy it is for fans to change opinions. Im not for one minute expecting this to happen - i think Davis will eventually move back into the inside right creative role and play well again. I think Lee McCulloch is another example of this - he was raved about early in the season but is on a very poor run of games. But it got me reversing my thinking about others players and those who are unpopular and given the chance could they reverse the fans thinking and do the team good. Im talking about Faye, Buffel, Sebo, Gow and even Boyd to an extent - all who have been highly talked about. The only way to conclude these arguments is by giving them time on the pitch - so with a few of our players looking very drained at the moment giving these players game time may not be such a bad idea, plus everyone of them has impressed at some point in there footballing careers.
  5. Yip totally agreed Frankie. The players being picked week in week out were always going to run out of steam at some point, i and few others said as much weeks and weeks ago that they should be getting more regular rests whereas a few disagreed. Whats annoying me is that for this game we should have had them running on a lot more than they did. It was a huge european quarter final that could have put is with one foot in the semi final but the stubborness from the previous 2 months caught up with us in a game that Im annoyed about. Id love to see us in a european final probably enough to even risk the SPL title - but definatly the domestic cups. We cant complain with recent achievments and progress but this is a bit of mis-management. As said there is a good few players who would definatly freshen up the team and were worth taking a risk on IMO. We'd only be talking 2 or 3 places. But all is not lost as we still have a chance. But Id make a few changes for Sunday or we may get the same performance from players which would see us drop points.
  6. Perfect time to see us win the treble Cracking smilie that BTW. I read on the BBC website that the mhanks think this is a poor excuse to try and win the fans back over a poor season. He'll be putting his boots on next year then!!

    Predictions

A lot of confidence here! I think we'll win but Sporting were one of the teams I thought would be a dark horse and they wont be a push over. In saying that il still go 2-0
  8. Ps, does anyone else find Kuyt annoying to just look at?? I think he looks like a raggy doll.
  9. Firstly the football chicks earlier in this thread are tidy and id nail them Next, Arsenal were robbed of a clear penalty - the ref was 5 yards behind it!! But they also had 3 or 4 other chance to win it but yet again couldnt score the easy goals. For the first 25 mins the were going to give Liverpool a lashing but when they got it back to 1-1 it took the sting out of Arsenals tail. I think the away goal is the first id abolish if I was chief of FIFA, its the most unfair rule ever - how can a team go out of a competition with a draw!! At least you win on penalites. There can be far more reasons why a team cant score at home compared to the other - weather for EG. Its only advantage Liverpool until Arsenal take the lead at Anfield I hope the Goons batter them on Saturday aswell.
  10. Papac had an illness so id expect him to have shaken that off and id bring him back, he has been doing very well at LB. Not sure about Adam yet but once again I find it shocking that i would play him ahead of McCulloch. I still think McCulloch is going through a bit of a bad patch and Adam can get a goal out of a set piece.

    Predictions

I fancy 1-0 or 2-0 aswell. I'll have a bash at the scorers when I see the line up
  12. Just asking seen as I dont have a clue whats on the BBC
  13. Anyone know if it is on BBC?? I checked my listings and I have all the other 3 quarter finals live. The only reason I could think the Rangers game wasnt on aswell was due to the BBC TV rights.
  14. Will be interesting to see if he plays, Id play him for sure. It may be Dailly makes way with his broken toe.
  15. Read this morning he is recovering well but the Sporting game comes just too soon. We may see him against Utd at the weekend then.
  16. I think he is peaking now. Some say players peak at 28, 29 but i dont agree with that, I think some players peak early in there career. Michael Owen peaked in his late teens and early 20s and is now a very average player. I think both Rooney and Ronaldo are peaking early but will continue to do so for a good few years.
  17. Man Utd are just on fire. The difference this season is compared to last is they still have something left in the tank. Last season they didnt start with a full tank of petrol - i.e. a big enough squad to compete on all stages. This season they have cover from Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani which has kept the likes of Giggs and Scholes free and its given them a fully fit midfield to choose from. They must be favourties for the double now. Barcelona arent on the greatest form but hopefully they get it together for the Man Utd game and we could be in for a real treat. Semi finals are often better than finals as teams seem to go for it. Imagine the best of Henry, Messi, Eto, Deco and Ronaldinho up against Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Scholes and Tevez - awesome thought!. I actually expect Arsenal to give Liverpool a bit of a lesson tonight. I really think they will turn on the style at Emirates tonight and win 2 or 3 nil. I can see an all english final - Man Utd v Arsenal / Chelsea.
  18. Ive watched a few interviews and previews today and a few are even tipping Roma for a win tonight as if they dont then they will go out. But they are also saying they will go with this 4-6-0 formation which 2-4 midfielders turn on a counter attack, but its very defensive and tough to break down. So they think Man U will match them up in the midfield with Carrick / Hargreaves (MC is doubtful), Anderson and Scholes all playing so both teams may cancel each other out. So banker draw for me.
  19. Golf and football cant be mentioned in the same sentance!!! But its the way of the world mate, TV rules the roost on all fronts.
  20. It will be over in less than that. Motherwell will take a draw off them at Fir Park and we wont lose both matches at Parkhead. In fact I dont think we will lose one there. But we have to be lucky with injuries with the amount of games coming up again.
  21. Id edge towards a treble containing: Roma v Man U - Draw Fener v Chelsea - away win Arsenal v Liverpool - Home win
  22. Im still annoyed with Arsenal though, they should be at least level on points with Man Utd at the moment. Imagine how good that game between them would have been had it been closer. Hopefully there is a twist this weekend when Man Utd go to the Riverside. Boro are a weird team, they seem to be improving as a side but then they collapse for a game or 2. I used to not be able to stand Southgate but he has grown on me this past few months. He conducts himself very well but after Chris Burke he is the next man in football that needs a haircut.
  23. Jon, your not bad at posting pictures
  24. Friday morning matey, and dont be letting that English classes get in the way
  25. Tuesday: AS Roma v Man Utd Fenerbahce v Chelsea The Man Utd game could be interesting. Roma are no mugs despite Man U getting the better of them quite a few times in the last year. Totti being out for Roma is a massive loss. I think Man U will go through over 2 legs but tonight may be a draw. Chelsea go to a hostile place but they will have too much strength for Fenerbahce over 2 legs. Tonight might be a narrow away win or a draw but Chelsea will beat them by 2 goals at Stamford Bridge Wednesday: Schalke v Barcelona: Has to be Barca over 2 legs and they should win on the night aswell. There are no easy games at this stage though. The big one - Arsenal v Liverpool: Has to be Arsenal for me over 2 legs. They will switch it on for the CL as this is the one Wenger wants more. I think it will be a cracking game but if Arsenal keep Torres quiet then they should win it. They play 3 times in 1 week and I expect 2 Arsenal wins and a draw.
