Absolute disgrace. Arsenal were robbed. They had a clear cut pen in the 1st leg and that was not a penalty last night. The initial contact was outside the box (if any) then the guys legs went. It did look like a pen at the first instance from the side but from all other angles it was never a pen. We should be sitting here talking about how good Walcotts run was for the goal - that was simply amazing from the young man. He ran 80 yards then showed amazing maturity to just cut it back for 3 arsenal players to knock it in. Bu Adebyeor should have scored a bit before that aswell. As Craig says Arsenal are 1 or 2 players short of being invinceable again IMO and this is down to Wengers policy. But if Eduardo didnt get that injury plus Rosicky was fit then I think they would have won the double. They also missed Sagna at LB last night as Senderos is a weak link. Next year they will be 1 year more experienced and if they get 1 or 2 more cover players then they could be unstoppable. I hope Chelsea absolutely stuff Liverpool. The difference is Chelsea can shut up shop easily which Arsenal dont do. Chelsea will want revenge for previous seasons and I think they will get it. Man Utd v Chelsea will be an awesome final and again as Craig says a lot more even. Man Utd could rip Liverpool apart the way they are playing. I hope Schalke wins it though :fish:

Aside the point but C'mon West Ham!! 0-0 at half time with Portsmouth but they have had most of the chances.
-
Yip, but i just think we needed a goal at Ibrox in this tie
-
I hope your right Ian but I have a bad feeling about it. My head is saying Sporting 1-0 but my heart says 1-1

Was watching a video of that today. Anyway, Arsenals goal was sublime football. Liverpool just couldnt cope with 100mph passing and moving. Arsenal scored too early if you like! Hopefully Wenger shakes them up again and they come out in the 2nd half with the same play as the first and i fully expect them to score again and go through. C'mon the Goons

Maybe its the style of our play that has to do with it also?? But in saying that hutton still managed to get forward very well. Also, if we have 3 central midfielders then there is no better chance for a wing back to get forward. As you say he may come good though. I was surprised to see him start there against D Utd but i think id rather see him there than Burke who just gets blown off the ball. The times ive been impressed with Whittaker has been at Left Back of all places but Papac has done even better. Its refreshing that we have that with S Smith also still to come back. The LB position was one we were all worried about not so long ago. However overall he should be a very decent squad player if he isnt starting at RB.

Yeah well excuse me for not being well informed but where Hibs full backs play and what Rangers sign them for doesnt quite make the mass media in this continent. I go by what people say on here for my Rangers news and cant say I remember everyone saying Whittaker was an exciting player going forward - and if they did they have been proved very much wrong so far. Professional footballers should be able to play more position than one anyway. Even though I played at a lower level I could still play on both wings, in the centre and upfront. I could play in goal but wasnt exactly good at it but Im sure with a excellent coach and if I was doing it for a full time job on good wages Id improve drastically.

Id say he is more bent than one of Jonc's fivers
-
I am genuinely asking as I didnt here any papers, reports etc when he was signed that we would be taking him as an attacking right midfielder. I didnt think he offered much offensive wise anyway and thats why im baffled why we are considering him at RM ahead of natural attacking players like Novo, Naismith, McCulloch and even Lennon, Gow and Buffel. But with Hutton moving on so soon I do tend to think he was bought for Huttons replacement more than anything else
-
Its more like Buffel and Gow's situation than Boyds.
-
Why would we sign a full back for midfield?? Agree he was back up to Hutton but then Broadfoot was bought for back up for the centre halfs. Would Barcelona sign Gary Neville for midfield??
-
Yip, its like we have a list of players and if those players are available then they will be put in the team in any role ahead of others who could do a more natural role at it.

Chelsea v Fenerbahce (1-2 agg) I think Chelsea will turn this around. It will be nervous until they score but once they get one im sure they will get a few more. But the Turks might be stubborn and the longer its 0-0 the more they will fancy it. The big one again: Liverpool v Arsenal (1-1 agg). Arsenal should have won twice over liverpool in the last week. They were robbed of a penalty in the first leg. But everyone thinks its advantage Liverpool due to them having an away goal but even if Liverpool score Arsenal still need 1 to level. Id always back Arsenal to get a goal if they need one and see them scoring one maybe 2 here. Chelsea and Arsenal to go through. (Which means Fenerbahce and Liverpool will probably go through with my luck.) I'll definatly be getting up at 2:30am to watch this. West Ham v Portsmouth is on aswell so both my tellys will be on.

Aberdeen away in the last game of the season, memories of 1987 when we took over and won the league and imagine parrading the UEFA cup round Pittodrie How stupid is the split though!!! And we still have to play St Mirren. Hibs have to go to Dundee Utd for 3rd time in the race for the UEFA cup - surely its time the SPL just woke up and scrapped this farce. First things first - legs get past Sporting on Thursday.
-
Losing Carlos would be a disaster. Good to see Cousin has the all clear - surely a starter on Thursday!!!

If you look over the whole season then surely Kevin Thomson has to be in with a shout ahead S McDonald and Barry Robson. If S McDonald wins then I can live with it for his double on Helicopter Sunday but Robson or McGeady would be a disgrace. Baffling baffling decision.

What is the reason for WS changing things around? Did he give into fan pressure or just saw that the team may need a freshen up? Whatever the reason he may have changed the formation but he also changed the personel and got that wrong. If he put the correct players in with the changed line up we still well have taken 3 pts away. But Whittaker is not a midfielder and Dailly is far from his best at RB. With having so much defensive players (especially on the wide position) it invites the opposition to attack us. In saying that the point about never say die attitude is spot on. We would have left Tannadice with nothing in this was still Pre-Walter Part2. As for Thursday, Im pretty worried about it. I find it hard to understand how fans can boo after what we have achieved thus far but I still share there sense of frustration that we had to take the home leg by the scrub of the neck and win the tie. The away leg is going to be tough IMO.

Is this the same as the english league when votes are done in January?? Very very silly. Weir and McGregor have easily been better than 3. Frank McAvennie's love child has had about 4 good games producing a few silky skills but has done nothing else.

Well picked up, you must have realised I put "Given a chance" on purpose
-
Id be happy for him to return and given a chance.

Thats a mental wee bounce even though the Well fans are out of tune.

Shame for Barnsley, but they have won 2 cup finals this year already by putting Liverpool and Chelsea out. then they get rewarded with a further pay day at Wembley yesterday so they cant complain. I hope Cardiff give Portsmouth a game. If they get Fowler and Jimmy Floyd to give amazing fitness recoveries then who knows! But Id like to see Harry win the cup. At the start of the season you'd take a Pompey winning the cup just to see Man Utd Liverpool not winning it. But with Cardiff there aswell you want the underdog. Its a good cup final where it will be good to see whoever wins it.
