HUGE game tonight, i may even get up to watch it. I fancy Newcastle to finally get a win under Keegan.
-
Who do you mean when you say this? The national team or our top flight clubs? The national team arent that far off but on a one game (that internationals mainly are) then there are so many countries who can beat there opposition on there day. Most countries are always going to gather 11 good players. However you dont see England playing many players who are eligible through grandmothers etc. But out top flight clubs are nowhere near Englands. Can you imagine St Mirren playing Everton 4 times a season or Kilmarnock against Tottenham?
-
Hutton cant be forgotten about, he certainly was POTY for me until he left. But Carlos 1st followed by McGregor. Read the other day if we get to the UEFA and SFA cup finals it means we still have 21 games to play which is enough to put Davis in the top few. Also a mention to Cousin who has been awesome in the big games.
-
Depends who McLeish wants and Birmingham :fish: All the above list are possible movers but i cant see Cuellar leaving. Plus Cousin may still go to Fulham and JCD hasnt even played 90 mins for us yet so whats the point in keeping him?
-
I dont even think Gow has a future at Rangers. Agreed Fleck and Lennon should get some game time. Id still play Buffel. I think him and Davis in the same team would rip opposition apart. They would compensate each other very well. Sad state when people dont want to see us at our best. :box:

Didnt realise Anderson had been punted to Plymouth. They arent doing bad actually. But it was obvious he would be out of his depth in the premier league, another aberdeen flop the same as Jess. Both went to the wrong clubs. Same as Craig Gordon, he should have went to Villa when he had the chance.
-
Seems fine to me but would like to see Quashie back in there when he is fit along with K Thomson and that would give the midfield a more solid look rather than Teale and Robson. Robson was ok for Dundee Utd but looks light weight. Whittaker cant be far off a call up for Hutton back up and S Smith has to get himself back in the Gers team first. Webster needs to get playing again. Broadfoot can just keep plugging away, if Anderson gets in for not playing at Sunderland then he must have a chance. So things looking good from a Rangers perspective.
-
Well said that man!! Both should start against Partick on Wednesday. Its a good chance for the likes of Webster, S Smith and K Thomson to get game time and give those who are running on empty a deserved rest.
-
Finally!!!! A trophy back at Ibrox. 1 down - 3 to go  Well done the lads and the management for the turn around. Credit to Boyd who finally seems like he was the hero Fair play to Dundee Utd, they gave us a game. I wish there chairman well in his fight against cancer and hope they go on and finish 3rd in the league to claim the UEFA cup spot. But thats us with the first one in the bag despite the performance. We have to remember we had a tough 90 mins on thursday against Werder. WS got his team spot on in Germany but where he got credit then, he has to take some flak for getting it a bit wrong yesterday. McCulloch shouldnt play upfront and Burke shouldnt play.
-
....and the breaking news malarky!!:box: I was expecting the team news
-
Not convinced with McCulloch on his own again, but I cant see us losing that with the midfield so packed. Id rather see Burke upfront out of those players with McCulloch on the left and Davis on the right. Although id have had Davis on the centre with Dailly or Hemdani making way. But thats WS side and we accept it. Im confident with that, as I said the midfield is packed and we should control the game.
-
Is that official or your choice chief?? If so, im assuming McCulloch is upfront, but who is playing left??
-
Yeah they did but they cant bring them through all the time. At the moment we have Noble, Anton Ferdinand and the boy Sears who scored yesterday. We want to break into the top 8 then 6 and we wont do that with youth, Man Utd were a one off 15 years ago, so West Ham have to spend money but we need a top manager to do it. Curbs peaks at 8th place.
-
Im glad i dont have it, i cant even get it on radio. BBC are , they give coverage to UK listeners only
-
Id like to see Gow play aswell. This would be good: __________________McGregor___________________ Broadfoot______Weir________Carlos________Papac _______Davis_______Hemdani______Ferguson______ ___Burke____________JCD_____________Gow______ Very tough to leave Dailly out but Hemdani deserves a cup final appearance more IMO. Id bring Buffel on for the last 30, he could run riot on the big hampden pitch.
-
Id be up for it but its a bit out my way.
-
Thought that earlier aswell but this is Arsenals blip, Man U had one aswell against Man City and Spurs. No better way for Arsenal to bounce back than at Stamford Bridge next weekend. They can win in the San Siro so they can win anywhere

Its time the SFA, SFL and SPL got together along with a number of ex players and current managers and worked out what to do about the joke that is Scottish Football. The backward trend that has been going on for the last 15 years has to stop now. I dont think its a coincidence that the a 4th league was introduced in the country around this time and in that time period new clubs such as Inverness, Ross County, Livingston, Peterhead, Elgin and Gretna have all entered the professional game. Dont get me wrong there was always a good shout for a highland team and Inverness have not been bad for the game but Im not so sure Ross County and Elgin are justified and could have been part of the original Highland merger. But the fact of the matter is there are too many teams and divisions in a small country meaning games have attendances that you see at Shinty matches. The Gretna scenario has to be the wake up call for all 3 football bodies in the country to sort something out. Its time tradition was put out the window and clubs were made to merge. If it means upsetting a few hundred fans from each small team then so be it for the state of the game. Soon enough the traditionalists would miss football and be bite the bullet and want to see football again at some grounds and if it means they change the team they follow then thats not a bad thing as they would still be turning up a a game somewhere. It may take a generation or so to get used to mergers but in the long run this would be benefical. After all we have been going backwards for 1 generation already, so whats 1 more when its for the good of the game and the trend would be on the up rather than decline. There is no over night solution for the game anyway. You could name a few ways to improve the structure but a maximum of 3 leagues is the way. Personally id like to see 2 top divisions with the lower regional leagues being brought back and then play offs at the end of it between the top teams from each region. A trip from Montrose to Stranraer on a Wednesday night has absolutely no point to it at all and I cant work out where the travelling club would profit from this. The stadium issue also has to be addressed following the state of Fir Park lately. Clubs must submit all details of stadia well in advance to make sure only severe weather conditions can force games off. Obviously tragic circumstances such as the Phil O Donnell situation this year are exceptions. One of aspect to improve the game is either having summer football or a winter break. During the winter break all clubs would have to re-lay there pitch. But Id be a fan of moving to summer football. There is no doubt in my mind having midweek games on a summer night would bring much more fans out than to midweek nights on a cold December. The Christmas period also means fans have to dip into there pockets more and some just have to give up going to the footy on the odd week. On the bright side of the Scottish game at the moment is the Old Firm seem to be improving when playing in Europe. Both sides have held there own against supposed bigger teams in the last few seasons. Not only that the national team are improving and we're very unlucky not to qualify against the 2 World Cup finalists. So the product is there in the country, we just need to tighten it up and run things better. We have a number of superb footballing brains from our country - that is shown with the amount of success stories down south from Alex Ferguson, Davie Moyes, Kenny Dalglish and all the way back to greats such as Shankley and Busby. Its just a shame they are cancelled out by a group of men who seem inept of doing there job with a hint of common sense in there system and just seem happy sitting a nice desk at Hampden during the week. One final point is the media in the country dont help on occasion. They continue to fault and criticise and show bitterness to certain clubs in Europe rather than rally behind them when these clubs are flying the nations flag. But these journo's are easy to ignore and are certainly not worrying about. The way they act is more a social problem than a footballing one. But the game needs someone to stand up and drive the ideas forward so we are not having a top flight football team going bust during a season making us a laughing stock.

Ive got that mate and will look later. It worked well for the Hatton fight but it didnt work for a game i tried to watch recently (cant remember which one) and had problems with trojans trying to get into my system.
-
Its a good point Ian. All id be interested in would be the future of Rangers. Im not saying he is the type of player to blast us to trophies but he is no worse than what we have and WS rates him. For a 4-5-1 he makes good sense and did well for Scotland under WS. Working with Super Ally everyday wouldnt do any harm and KM has a good attitude.
-
If they deduct and scrap out all the points made what do they do with all the revenue made from these games? Do fans get their admission money back from a void match that ended up being a meaninless kick about?? Deducting the points is a nonsense from top to bottom.

Yip I know that and its something we should be looking at soon, employing him to sniff out talent around the Germany, Holland areas.
