  1. I listen to Talksport on a weekend morning UK time - quality stuff. I often play back Traynors program when I get up on a sunday just for a laugh.
  2. Thats a huge point. Id say playing regularly in europe will stead him perfect for International matches - TBH playing Barca etc is bigger than Scotland v the likes of Greece or Iceland. McGregor's confidence is sky high at the moment and at this time he is for me Scotlands top keeper. Im a big fan of Gordon but he made the wrong move going to Sunderland and playing behind a poor defence. If they go down then he has to get away from Championship football. Buts its good to see 2 quality keepers fighting it out. I wouldnt say they are at the level of Leighton and Goram (those 2 were world class keepers) but they are certainly on the up. I cant see McGregor moving away from Ibrox at all.
  3. See what your saying about Beasley being lightweight - I thought that also. But he was still playing pretty well when he got injured. He seems to be more suited to the games at Ibrox and european games which give him more space rather than the tight ground like Rugby park etc where he will be marked tightly. Thats where McCullochs physical strength is better for us.
  4. Obviously a 1-0 would do us all but we are all allowed to post up the perfect game. I cant wait for this one - probably because its been 5 months since we played them. My plans were almost disrupted though, i was looking forward to getting the beers in around 4pm in the afternoon and having them up until K/o at 8:30. But Ive got a guy over from UK working and his trip offshore has slipped from Thursday until Tuesday. He is a sheep shagger so Im punting him out of my apartment as planned on Thursday into the Staff House on the other side of the island so I can watch the game in piece on saturday. :uzi:
  5. Either PSG are shite or PLG doesnt have a clue how to run a team which is bizarre after what he did at Lyon - but he did have a good base when he went there. Right now he is proving SDM was right to punt him so early - if he comes back and proves he is a good manager then it will look like the wrong move.
  6. Seeeeeeeeeboooo
  7. How old is AM BTW?
  8. No, thats been fixed for August.
  9. Arent you a student with plenty of free time? So do both types But its up to yourself mate, I prefer a longer one aswell with depth rather than a quick fire one. Everyone is going to put a suggested XI up anyway so its good to have a good read of one. When I did them everyweek i used to put the OF one up earlier than a friday, so feel free to get the ball rolling anytime.
  10. (a bit of the 1988 5-1 here): Celtic to get a free kick outside the Rangers box in the first few minutes and score. Ten minutes later a throw from the right hand side by Broadfoot is flicked on by Novo - headed out by a mhank to fall at Cuellar who hits a screamer on the volley into the top corner ala Ray Wilkins. Gers go on and win 5-1 But would like to see a Boruc blunder of some sort, throwing the ball into his own net would be nice infront of his own fans so they can see it properly. Ferguson to have Scott Brown in his back pocket aswell and take the mickey.

    Pre-OF Rants

Agreed that this is the time in the season when its just results that matter and the kind of football goes out the window, especially with the amount of games we have to play. Im almost with you 100% on the team for the OF. Although have to say Id have given Papac a bit more credit - I think for a centre half he has been brilliant at LB recently - and a definate for the game on Saturday. I also think Davis will be deployed out wide again and Thomson will play - meaning probably Novo sitting on the bench. But Nacho has a great record against Celtic so he may start. The back 4 and Mcgregor is a gimmie so they not need be discussed. The midfield - Ferguson and Davis will play for sure and either Dailly and/or Thomson - depending if Novo gets the nod. Also depends on Daillys broken toe - but then Hemdani cant be overlooked. But isnt it refreshing to have so much options of strength - I use to have little confidence in OF games until WS came back due to the lightweight of our midfield and weaker defenders. Cant wait for the game, where i firmly believe we will be in touching distance of the title after it. We are by far the better team.
  12. The boy Skrtel has been rank aswell. So those 3 are in the squad for sure. Titus Bramble HAS to be in it aswell though, he is 15 goals a season (for the opposition). Id be tempted to put Lucas Neill of West Ham in aswell, he is absolutely shocking at defending. He isnt bad going forward and likes to get on the ball but he is an absolute bombscare in defence - and for 70k a week aswell.
  13. He's not a bonnie loon is he! The size of his head along with his scouse accent bugs me during interviews.
  14. The league is right back open then, the Hammers will go up there and do what they did last season Man Utd have got to go to Blackburn before the Chelsea and Arsenal games so thats a tricky one aswell. Im annoyed with Arsenal for blowing it as I would have liked to have seen it so tight until the last weekend. Hopefully Aston Villa go to Old Trafford this weekend and pull off a shock.
  15. Agreed Nokiss - joke of a time to play a friendly when the club is going all fronts for so much this season. Im normally for international players playing for Scotland but not this time. Im glad they pulled out as the OF game is more important than an international friendly at this stage. The international season was finished in November and the clubs did the national team a favour then by cancelling some SPL games so now it should have been the SFA's turn to let the OF players out of this one for the game on Saturday. The game is only to give Croatia some practise for Euro 08 - who gives a munk about them when Rangers are going for the UEFA, SPL and SFA cup. Its about time the SFA thought about there own rather than other countries. Ferguson needs the rest anyway, he's playing too much and carrying an ankle injury and Dailly has a broken toe. Dont know about McCulloch, he could maybe have played and im not sure why McGregor pulled out but we need him for Saturday. Well done WS for pulling them out.
  16. Its weird that some of our players can do that - go from a great game to a shit game. There never seems to really be anywhere in between
  17. ________________Green________________ Richards_____Vidic_____Ferdinand_____Evra Ronaldo_____Gerrard____Fabregas_____J Cole __________Adebyeor____Torres____________ James Lescott Dunne Hleb Elano Bentley Rooney Keane
  18. Didnt see that bit. But your right about Owen - he is a definate to be in it - shocking player and on 110k a week aswell! He cant even pass a ball. Against Fulham on saturday (and on loads of others) he tries to play a neat thru ball and absolutely fucks it up by misjudging it and it trickles along to the defender.
  19. PS - I can see Wenger just turn his attentions to the Champions League now - thats the one he wants anyway to put him higher on the managerial map although throwing titles away dont help him. But at the same time Liverpool will be all out to win that aswell to salvage there season so the double header between those 2 teams should be brilliant. The league match inbetween will have plenty of team changes.
  20. At first i thought Mascherano was stupid and cost his team the game but after reading about it all he did was ask why Torres got booked and Alonso backed this up and said he heard every word, so if thats the case then the ref is a wanker for sending him off. All he got sent off for would have been jogging 20 yards across to ask the question and thats a joke although there is no need for him to be asking at that time. The rules of this "who can ask what and when" is beyond a joke and making the game a farce.
  21. For Arsenal to win it now they have to win all there remaining games as Man U or Chelsea will drop points against each other. But yesterdays games rules them out for me. You cant possibly hope to in the title going into March and not win in 5 games - Arsenal have thrown it away. Drawing with Birmingham, Wigan and Middlesboro is poor - I can accept a draw with Villa as they are decent team and they cant win every game but the first 3 should be easy wins. They have ran out of steam and Wenger's decision to stick with youth rather than not buying players in January has been the downfall - you need depth and experience at this time of the season. Im more pissed off about Arsenal throwing it away than Man Utd being the better team. They threw the title away in 2003 with 2 silly draws aswell. Chelsea will be cursing themselves for drawing at Spurs, if they won that it was set up nicely for them. But they can still win it. Chelsea v Man Utd is going to be a classic game - cant wait for that, but with Arsenal still to play Man Utd they can still have a say.
  22. How about just Derby
  23. Its generous to give the UEFA away tickets at cut price etc but would he have been much better reducing the home leg prices so 20 x the amount of fans could have benefitted - the games have came thick and fast and all the home fans are expected to dip in further - a reduction here would have been a great gesture seen as we have been playing european games since July. As for the stadium development - is this on the cards or at the idea stage?? I read somewhere of a 700 million re-development which is bonkers - Liverpool couldnt afford that and had to reduce that figure by 50%. Emirates only cost around 300 million (only )
  24. Some interesting results yesterday. I didnt think Sunderland would take 3 points at Villa Pk but that can be a timely lift for them. Wigan have looked ok of late but 1 defeat and they are looking over there shoulder again. Middlesboro should be safe now. Finally Keegan gets a win, it was a banker seen as they were playing Fulham, they still arent out of it yet. Fulham have got it all to do but they play the sides around them in the next few weeks starting with Derby - so they arent down yet but I still think they will go. Bolton should have beat Man City and are now giving themselves a tough task. Reading have 3 wins in 4 and i think will be ok. Birmingham are still right in the mix and have a bit of a tough fixture list coming up including Wigan and Villa away. If Bolton pick up a win or 2 then Birmingham will go down. Great stuff to have such a big fight going on
  25. The SFA arent helping by throwing in another international game this midweek - ok i can see that the clubs involved in Euro 08 needs games but with title run-in's etc its a bit mad to take players from the top clubs away. We could have played Partick in the replay this midweek had the game not been on. But its also been a bit of bad luck by having replays in both the Hibs and Partick games. We just need to get the cup games out the way.
