  1. Ps I think Arsenal lack English bite and Mentality when it comes to defending leads. Put John Terry and Wayne Rooney in that team and they would be unstoppable, so I think they should sign an english player or 2. David Bentley would be a good start.
  2. I kinda lean towards Juff's arguments here. I dont wish McLeish relegation but dont wish him success also - simply because Ive no interest in Birmingham. I will take interest of his transfers this summer and tactical awareness though to see what he does. He did make a slight mockery of the Scotland job though, he made it look like a 2nd rate job and that the Premier League was more important than your own country. He jumped at the first Prem job that came his way when I thought he could have waited until the end of the campaign, he would still have got a EPL job. You cant fully compare Smith leaving the Scotland job for Rangers, plus Smith was in the National job for a few years and did an amazing job turning us round. From a Scotland point of view I was upset WS left, but from a Gers point of view I was happy.
  3. I fancy us to give any team a game at Ibrox. Fiorentina arent anymore special than Bremen or Lyon but they are a different footballing team. The Italians know how to defend so they may be a bit tougher to break down. But once again, first leg is at Ibrox where we can get a lead then defend it well in the 2nd again.
  4. Another thing that might hurt Arsenal if Wenger doesnt sign anyone is Euro 08. He needs Van Persie to get a full rest this summer as he is a massive player for them when 100%. Fabregas is another who needs a rest. To go over there squad a bit more: Goalkeeper - Definatly need a world class keeper, if not 2 keepers! They have never replaced Seaman IMO. Lehmann can be a good keeper at times but is still a liability as much as an asset. Defence - Have to disagree with you on Clichy Craig. I think he is great LB. Its more RB they have slight problems, Sagna is good but not fully estalished yet. Eboue moved Lauren from this position now he is playing midfield. Toure and Gallas have to be the centre half partnership and if there is a problem at RB Toure shouldnt be moved out there. But they definatly need a back up centre half. Midfield - They are awesome at playing but they lack a bit of height and strength that Vieira was so good at. Flamini, Fabregas, Hleb and Rosicky are all superb footballers but they are 5ft 10" at most. Gilberto hasnt been the same player this year and will probably move on in the summer so he will need replaced. Diaby and Eboue are fine subs. Walcott is one for the future but needs to start playing more. They will need to replace Gilberto. Id say a Rino Gattuso type player or Pirlo to sit and protect there defence would be the final piece of there jigsaw. Forwards - Will Eduardo come back the same player? Larsson did twice so there is hope but it will depend on him mentally. As i said Van Persie needs a full rest and pre season. Adebyeor had a brilliant season until February. Bentnar causes few problems but he isnt world class and they need a Fernando Torres.
  5. That is the most bonkers thing ive heard - the club actually are responsible for providing the T Rolls - surely that has to be a huge fine
  6. I dont think he will tinker to much in the summer. I think he needs a 3 players. He needs a new keeper, Lehmann needs punted coz he is 38 and doesnt keep his mouth shut, and Almunia just isnt a top level keeper that you need. Chelsea and Man Utd have 2 class keepers plus a good 3rd choice. He needs a new centre half to cover Gallas and Toure. They are first pick but for some reason he moves Toure to RB. Finally he needs a world class striker. They excelled without Henry this season until the going got tough where they needed his experience and goals. Could they re-sign him?? But they should have bought Anelka back.
  7. Another league fixture will have to go to fit the St Johnstone game in. Crazy but superb!!!

    Boyd Today

Agreed. I also have been more impressed with work rate this season but he still hasnt impressed me performance wise that much. Just because he tries harder doesnt make hima better all rounder.
  9. I think he has been a bit unlucky this season though. Everything was going perfect in January and he didnt really need to buy. Eduardos injury was the turning point, that knocked something out of them and they lost a 5 point lead. Losing him, Rosicky and Sagna has been a blow plus Van Persie has been out a lot. Had all them been fit they would be top IMO. And if Adebyeyor didnt get his hair cut.........
  10. Thats nuts! How come we never hear about the dutch teams getting punished? The toilet rolls just keep on coming and coming, they must have had 1000s at the back of the stand there.
  11. That Man Utd win is priceless and should secure it. Had they drew Id have said Chelsea all the way.
  12. Arsenal by far the better team in the first half and should have been 2 or 3 up. They blown it away by not being able to hold a lead again. They have went ahead against the other top 3 sides but as soon as they score there play goes out the window. They deserved something from that game.
  13. Arsenal are out of it but only have themselves to blame. They threw the title away in 2003 and they have thrown this one away this season becuase they cant finish teams off. In 2004 they came back and produced the invincables, will they do the same next season? I wouldnt bet against it when everyone is fit.
  14. Very interesting! The league over a cup treble!! Its strange we all think so different.
  15. I like Eboue at RB but not RM. Agreed Walcott should be playing. Id have had him right, Hleb left and 3 central midfielders. But he is going for it with a 4-4-2 when Man U have got 4-5-1 / 4-3-3
  16. Man Utd: Van Der Saar, Brown, Ferdinand, Pique, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Hargreaves, Scholes, Park, Rooney Arsenal: Lehmann, Eboue, Gallas, Toure, Clichy, Song, Gilberto, Fabregas, Hleb, Van Persie, Adebyeor

    Torres

    What gives you that idea
  18. Gribz

    Torres

The same for Arsenal, imagine they had someone who could finish with all the chances they get!! Wenger had a chance to sign him aswell!!
  19. Gribz

    Torres

The only thing they have on there side Juff is the size of the transfer fee, they couldnt let him go for anything less than 35 million. Plus Id say he is worth that, only Ronaldo has been better this season. 3-1 now BTW
  20. Gribz

    Torres

3-0 now. 16/1 was a great bet for top scorer at the start of the season. anyone take that each way??? I wish i did, i just put it as a win.
  21. Fux sake, he's got another 1-4 now
  22. Im still raging BBC dont let me listen to any games on live now. Surely the game is on MW while the mhanks game is FM until the 2nd half??
  23. STEVIE SMITH is in a Rangers team for the first time since December 2006 for today's Scottish Cup quarter-final replay with Partick Thistle at Firhill. The full-back has not featured since the 1-1 draw with Celtic 16 months ago because of a long-term pelvic problem but finally makes his comeback against the Jags. Kirk Broadfoot's one-match suspension allows the 22-year-old to return and he is one of seven changes to the team which beat Sporting 2-0 on Thursday. Barry Ferguson, Lee McCulloch, Jean-Claude Darcheville, Steven Davis, Sasa Papac and Brahim Hemdani have also dropped out of the first XI. In their places come David Weir, Chris Burke, Kris Boyd, Nacho Novo and Steven Naismith in a 4-4-2 formation. Euro hero Steven Whittaker also starts the game at right-back. Following Queen of the South's semi-final win over Aberdeen yesterday, Rangers have a real opportunity to claim their first Scottish Cup for five years. Another First Division outfit - St Johnstone - await the winners of this tie in the last four and Walter Smith is fielding a strong side to give Gers their best chance of going through. RANGERS: McGregor; Whittaker, Weir, Cuellar, Smith; Burke, Dailly, Thomson, Naismith; Novo, Boyd. Subs: Alexander, Ferguson, Cousin, McCulloch, Furman,
  24. Setanta cant even get the score board correct. They have it as 0-2
  25. This is what the BBC said about motherwells goal
