I dont like to jump onto a bandwagon and blame individuals as I think the reason we have possibly thrown the title away is due to the players running out of gas and WS not changing things sooner. Why Kirk Broadfoot is playing RB for Rangers is beyond me. He was bought as a centre half and thats where he should play. Ive yet to see him play in the centre due to Weir and King Carlos, so il reserve judgment on him. However as a RB i really think he is 10 times worse than Gary Bollan ever was. Whittaker is the natural player for this role and seeing him in an attacking midfield role drives me mental. Davie Weir - the 38 year old has done superb to play so many games but you can see how tired he is. There is no way he should have played the number of games he has. Id have liked to have seen Papac play more in the middle with S Smith coming back in LB. Barry Ferguson - 1 good game then 6 bad games but a continual big mouth and he seems to be blameless. Yet when he isnt in the team nobody can stand up and take the mantle away from him. Id seriously consider selling him in the summer and I wouldnt mind if we went and got Scott Brown from Celtic as his replacement. Lee McCulloch - I was delighted we signed him last year and he started off well. But he is another who looks like he doesnt train. He has looked unfit since February. Management - Why has certain players not been used more when they would all have been fresh and fit? The club play them big wages and none of them have barely kicked a ball. I think Gow on the left, Buffel in the gap and Boyd upfront more often would have seen us score much more goals. Board - Giving Alan Hutton 1 million pounds to leave the club was disgusting when he wanted to stay until the summer. He was our best player and best attacking option. Mistake here!!
-
For me its simple - the players have ran out of steam and are playing on empty due to the amount of games. The only mistake Walter has made IMO is not to use players like Gow, Buffel, Furman, Webster etc when its plain obvious the team needed a spark of refresness. Tactically Im not sure what PLG, McLeish and Smith see in playing Barry Ferguson as the furthest forward midfield. He must be doing something in training that he isnt doing on the pitch.

The guy at Burnley - cant remember his name. McCartney from West Ham was linked. Id like to see us get McFadden aswell.
-
No probs. Anyone who wants to do the Aberdeen game just feel free, its the last game of the season and a potential title decider. I'l also be out of town though, im off to Hong Kong for that weekend.
-
I dont rate Broadfoot either and hope Whittaker moves to be long term RB or bring someone else in. But it looks like Walter fancies Whittaker as a vertisile midfielder - similar to what Ricksen was under previous managers - and i was against this also as I prefer more attacking midfielders. However these games will still give the likes of Broadfoot that experience that he couldnt have dreamed of getting at St Mirren.
-
Good point, thats half a domestic season. It can only be good for our more average type players like Broadfoot, and will bring them on a good bit and make them better players in general, placing them above the average band.
-
Yip agreed Wija, although the players are going to have to really dig something special out the bag both mentally and physically.

Just seen this on the news and Im shocked. I thought he was winning his battle. Sad news and only 51 years old. I very likeable man aswell who did well for Scotland and Celtic. RIP.

Thats disgusting behaviour from those who were fighting. They certainly arent part of the Rangers family. I feel terrible for any innocent man, women or child who was effected by such behaviour. Unfortuantly every club has a bad element amoungst the support.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/7400236.stm I dont understand this one. They are potentially richer than Chelsea and have there sights set on being back in the Top 10 of the Premier League yet appoint Dowie. I'll never understand why teams appoint the likes of Dowie, Warnock, Megson, Bryan Robson, and Mickey Adams when they just cant cut it at top level management. The only thing i can see here is Dowie can possibly get teams into play off positions then hope to get up via that then punt him.

The SPL and SFA have a lot to answer for. We now have an incredible 4 games in 7 days. Thus after the players will have went through an emotional night and they barely get the chance to think about it before being thrown into a rough match at Fir Park. Motherwell on Saturday St Mirren on Monday Aberdeen on Thursday Queen of the South on Saturday Craig David could write a song about that!! The SPL, SFA need to get a grip for next season and sort out the calender so this never happens again.

Being good sports we have to congradulate Dick Advocaat on winning the cup. Id rather see him win it that Bayern Munich with that knob Oliver Khan. He has done well there with a team not many has heard of.
-
Hull whipped Watford 6-1 on agg Bristol City pumped Palaca 4-2 on agg - to Warnock. I wanted both these teams to go up so im glad its them in the final. Im not bothered who comes up but Dean Windass plays for Hull so id rather see Bristol City go up.

That high wall is to keep Wija from getting hold of the young ladies walking past What was Ibrox like last night - anyone? Full house??
-
Can we question his decision to start with Hemdani in the centre, Davis on the right (who is non-exsistant there) and not start our inform scorer Nacho Novo?? Fair play to Darcheville who works his socks off up there on his own but the guy needs better support. If Cousin had the same attitude as JCD we could see a pretty darn good partnership. For me Ferguson and Thomson are always going to sit in the middle but id rather see a attacking man (Buffel) infront of them causing the opposition problems than a defensive man (Hemdani) doing extra tidying up and passing backwards.

The heartache will soon soothe and we can look back on a terrific european run in a few weeks time. But first and foremost we can stand proud and turn our attentions to our bread and butter - the SPL. 3 wins against Motherwell, St Mirren and Aberdeen will bring the league flag home and still put it right up the SPL, Celtic and the others who are jealous of what we have done this season. A domestic treble and a UEFA runners up place is still a wonderful season and puts us in the Champions league proper next season. Lets get right into Motherwell on Saturday and give them a backlashing and wipe the smug smiles of timmy's faces. 3 games in 5 days (4 in 7 if included the SFA cup) is another massive ask but this time 9 days the lads will be able to put there feet up on a beach somewhere. We have to be more positive in approach though. After that Queen of the South can get a dooing at Hampden aswell

Yip I was proud before the game of what the team achieved, there is no 2 ways about that. Zenit are a good side. However Im still annoyed about the negative tactics.
-
Whatever the outcome I and every bear said we'd be proud. However Im really disappointed in the performance, the tactics were far too negative for me. Id have rather we went out and had a real go at them and lost than sit and play like we did. Broadfoot was way out of his depth and im disappointed Novo didnt start. Id rather have seen Ferguson playing were Hemdani was and bringing on a more attack minded player to support Darcheville. It was the sort of game we would have played all night and not scored. But to get were we did is a fantastic achievement - lets remember that and go on and win the SPL.
-
Have to say its been very disappointing so far. We have been terrible on the ball. With 30,000 Bears in the Stadium and 120,000 in Manchester you'd think we would be a bit better. Davis has been invisible! Bring Nacho on for him and have a go at these bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff Molsy!!! Mols Mols Michael Michael Mols........... I bet he is another former player wishing us to win tonight despite him liking Advocaat.

Selected bets for the punters. Some tasty odds there. I still fancy 2-1 Gers. Win: Rangers to win in 90 mins - 11/5 Rangers to just win the cup any way - 13/10 Rangers to win in Extra time - 10/1 Rangers to win on Pens - 10/1 Correct Score: Rangers 1-0 6/1 Rangers 2-0 14/1 Rangers 2-1 12/1 Half Time / Full Time: Rangers / Rangers 5/1 Draw / Rangers 7/1 (good bet) Zenit / Rangers 25/1 1st Goalscorer: Darcheville 8/1 Boyd 9/1 Novo 10/1 Ferguson 12/1 Cuellar 20/1 Scorecast: Rangers 2-1 with Novo scoring first 80/1 (I might have a piece of that)

This is easily the most excited Ive ever been for a game. I never get nervous or emotional but today Im just full of all 3. Im far more up for this than any OF game. I dont think Ive felt like this since Scotland played England. There is no point me being at work at all, im not in any mood to do anything. I just want to crack open a beer. If I didnt have to drive later then I would be on the swally already.
-
Crikey - didnt expect that!! Many many thanks guys, it makes the start of a great day even better. Well done to everyone else. Fraser I think that award is harsh mate but its all a bit of fun so dont worry. We Are The People.
