Do the Scottish Press/Media want Rangers to Fail ?
Gribz replied to DJBlue72's topic in Rangers Chat
McGeady winning the POTY awards is due to the vote being done half way through the season. Of course the media want us to fail. Its Scottish mentality to not want your own clubs to do well. Our own governing bodies cant even help us out with this joke of a fixture list. The St Johnston game could easy have been played on Saturday to allow us an extra day preparation to Fiorentina. I say Scottish mentality because I dont think it really comes into it down south. For eg if Blackburn were in a UEFA cup final then id expect the rest of the country to get behind them. But there would be no better feeling to ram it up them with a treble / quadriple. The only thing thats concerning me at the moment is the injury and suspension list creeping up. -
Oops, i thought it was CL winners.

FFS, what do you want - Maradona for 90 mins?? The guy hasnt kicked a ball in how long?? Yet if Boyd was playing and did his usual flapping with that pace of his you'd be happy, and nothing was mentioned about Partick being a lower league team last week

So we've crawled into the Scottish Cup final, we can put that on the back burner until the near end of May and concentrate on the big 2 - the SPL and the UEFA cup. Everything was going so well but all of a sudden we have players dropping like flies and a few suspensions to deal with. Naismith and Burke are the latest 2 to join McCulloch and McGregor on the sidelines. And we have Ferguson, Thomson and Cuellar with pending suspensions. The squad is really going to be tested especially the centre and left side of midfield. On the right Novo and Davis can still fill in and we still have Darcheville, Cousin and Boyd upfront plus Buffel who made a rare appearance yesterday. The match yesterday should have been played on Saturday to allow us an extra day to prepare for Fiorentina. Less than 72 hours after that game we go over to Parkhead again for the last Old Firm Derby of the season. Even with 3 games in hand, getting something in this game is needed to reduce any growing pressure of having to win our all 3 games in hand. Walter must be scratching his head about the change in fortunes in injuries which have been quite kind all season. At least for the Celtic game Ferguson will have had the best part of 10 days off and should be re-charged a bit. But Im a little worried about personel for Fiorentina. At least both Cuellar and Weir are available for this one meaning Dailly can sit in midfield again - probably next to Davis and Hemdani. Time to really dig deep!!!

Gav cant be far off. Id take Capucho and Prso out. Cant recall Dado being in a final, and Capucho didnt deserve to be in one. Berg is another non one, unless he played for Man U in 1999 - il check that one.

Gordon Bennett - we've sneaked through there have we!!! Id say its down to switching to 4-4-2 and a big change in personel plus 2 injuries early on. Reports say we missed a few chances, although I didnt see the game. Glad to see Buffel on and that he was the 'best of a bad bunch' as per previously said. Im sure given a few more games his match fitness will go up, thats his first run out in how long?? But we're in the Cup final. I said at the start of the season we need to be pushing for the title come April and we need the Scottish Cup again after not winning it for 5 years. Its been the year of the underdog in England and Scotland, Barnsley put Liverpool and Chelsea out the FA cup! Im glad we didnt fall to St Johnstone no matter how we got through. I wonder what odds you would have got on Portsmouth v Cardiff and Rangers v Queen of the South being the 2 cup finals at the start of the season!!!

Certainly shifting to a 4-4-2 has an effect on our team, I dont think they practise it in training TBH.

Yours if you want it SA

Subs: Graeme Smith, Buffel, Davis, Broadfoot, McMillan. I hope Buffel at least gets 20 mins. From BBC website

It does look a good team.

They have Liverpool next week but thats sandwiched in between their CL semi final so they will rest a few players. Bolton have Spurs away and Reading go to Wigan. I think Reading are looking like the team going down but Bolton still have to go to Chelsea last game of the season - so there will be more twists.

5-1 to Villa with 10 mins to go. Brum have been awful!!
-
Arsenal were sublime against Reading and should have won about 8-0. Current score from Ewood Park - Blackburn 1 Man Utd 0

Amusing if it came from the Bears. Im sure it came from the away end. It is a catching tune but bugs me when I hear Liverpool sing it.
