If Jose goes there then I can see it being true. It would be a good move for both parties. Chelsea's midfield needs a bit of refreshing and I actually think J Cole, Essien, Ballack and Makelele is the better set up so they can play 2 upfront.
-
I thought he would be a great signing for Arsenal and is 1 of the 3 class players they need to win the league. But ive heard the Bayern rumours and think he will go there. But he should come back to Ibrox!!
-
I dont think he has another option today Pete. He knows we have to score goals. We cant rely on Dundee Utd doing us a favour because I just cant see it!
-
If ever he has a chance to win over me then its now!! I firmly think he should play because Cousin is not interested and doesnt deserve to play. So Im hoping Walter plays Boyd (but certainly not in a 4-5-1) and gives him support. He needs a player to do all the running for him then set up the chances. So come on Boyd, grab a hat-trick today along with a few others players getting one. We really do need to win by 6 today to realistically give us a chance.

I agree with Nokiss, if we go out and give it a proper shot then we are capable of getting quite a few goals. I'll get a preview up.

Pretty much spot on with that Pete. We need a bit of class in the midfield and have done for years now. We need someone who can change a game. Ive always said Buffel could do it but gave up 6 months ago. We need to go out and get a class player from somewhere along with another quality midfielder, but that will be difficult. I agree with Pete about Thomson and Davis. Next season is Thomson's chance to step up and become a future Rangers captain, he has the potential. He isnt the most skilful player but he is reminding me of Stuart McCall a bit. Id take Davis but he cant play right midfield. Id honestly consider going for Scott Brown for the RM. Lets get back to 4-4-2. A good midfield next season would be: Brown______Davis__________Thomson________Beasley Gav has a point about Broadfoot though. Ok, some players will make the odd foul throw but he did it what twice against Fiorentina and 4 times against Dundee Utd. It was only picked up once in each game. For me he should be fined and made to train with the youths for a day who should show him how to take a throw.

Inter win the title on last day. (3 in a row) Roma, Juventus and Fiorentina in Champions league. AC Milan in the UEFA!!! Parma Relegated http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/italy_results/tables/default.stm

I suppose one thing thats better is Dundee Utd have a better record against Celtic than Aberdeen. Aberdeen cant beat Celtic for toffee so if Utd dont lie down then there is slight hope. If we can batter St Mirren then we are still right in it.

Agreed Calscot, we never hear of events such as T in the park being like bombs dropped etc. What do they expect when there would have been a few bins around the city busting full anyway. And having a few portacabin toliets for 120,000 people. Dundee has a population a little more that that yet there wouldnt be far off a toilet for every 4 persons (houses etc). Whst do they expect when so many are coming down for a street party! The worst decision was not opening Old Trafford for the match, everyone would have been under the eyes of the police then.
-
The first half wasnt bad but it was far from a classic. Well done to Pompey, good achievement after winning at Old Trafford in the earlier rounds. Unlucky Cardiff, but you should be playing in the Welsh Cup anyway.

The whole situation is full of Media Hypocrisy, but welcome to the this world we live in. Propaganda, manipulation is rife in all topics in life!!

I know we have to go and take care of St Mirren first but whats everyones views on Celtic going to Tannadice and us going to Pittodrie. I just have the feeling Dundee Utd wont get out of 1st gear as they are pissed off with there game against us last week. We all know Aberdeen are going to give 200% against us. We do only have ourselves to blame for the last 2 league game results but its still not impossible. We need to thump St Mirren on Monday and they give ourselves a chance. But who knows, we might get a favour off Dundee Utd yet!!

I know what your taking about with the ICF but for West Ham they were a gang made up of gangs. I wouldnt say they are exstinct altogether. But as far as I know Rangers had a ICF also (Cammy will shed some light on this, he has read plenty of info on this) which still exsists. But I think there would have been an element of Man Utd fans involved in Manchester last week!

Good stuff Mike, you've elaborated brilliantly on my points and I agree with you bar on Broadfoot. This guy cant even take a throw, in 2 games he fluffed it about 6 times. Yip, Whittaker should have been put straight to RB and developed there or even Lowing could have been brought on a bit. I was actually going to edit my post a little and add a bit more. Im not getting at Davie Weir one bit, he has been outstanding most of the time but he should have been used a bit more spareingly (sp) throughout. Agreed he should definatly be put on the coaching staff unless we bring Gough in for that. Your absolutely correct about Cousin aswell. Im not a Boyd fan - everyone on here knows that - but I do have principals and I think Cousins attitude stinks yet Boyd is Rangers through and through but doesnt get a look in over Cousin. I think this is very wrong. Ive also said when Boyd plays we have to use him in a poaching role (dont let him attempt anything else) and give him service. He needs a guy who can run with the ball at his feet to lay off his chances so he can tuck it away - step forward both Buffel and Gow!! Finally I totally agree that attacking is a great way of defence. I have always thought if Rangers play to there strengths in the SPL then no other side could handle us. But playing defensive 4-5-1 allows the opposition to come at us. If we went forward and forward then the SPL sides would have to be pushed back.

Well I can safely say Im delighted I never bothered making the trip as i would have not likely managed to get my return flight. Ive heard that the police locked fans in places left right and centre. I was listening to Traynors phone in and fans simply went to the train station to get there train but all trains were cancelled and they locked the station with 7000 fans inside it. Those who were on the trains were taking to the next station and let off. Surprisingly enough Traynor knew there majority were innocent as he himself was stuck. There was an estimated 120,000 people all over the city and there were 42 arrests which is still 42 too many but doesnt even work out as 1%. Those arrests were not Rangers fans and everyone knows there were English casuals involved. Manchester were simply just not ready or prepared. They needed to contain a number of people which could fill some towns and cities in the UK - why on earth did they not open up Old Trafford and have 76,000 people in there which would have reduced the amount in the city centre. There should be an investigation into this. But once again the media manipulate and lie and give Rangers Football Club the bad name. This is what media do people!! The lie all the time. Do people just think they loe about football fans - this is another example of why I dont believe a word of what the media says on subjects like 9/11 - they are being fed a script!!

I dont like to jump onto a bandwagon and blame individuals as I think the reason we have possibly thrown the title away is due to the players running out of gas and WS not changing things sooner. Why Kirk Broadfoot is playing RB for Rangers is beyond me. He was bought as a centre half and thats where he should play. Ive yet to see him play in the centre due to Weir and King Carlos, so il reserve judgment on him. However as a RB i really think he is 10 times worse than Gary Bollan ever was. Whittaker is the natural player for this role and seeing him in an attacking midfield role drives me mental. Davie Weir - the 38 year old has done superb to play so many games but you can see how tired he is. There is no way he should have played the number of games he has. Id have liked to have seen Papac play more in the middle with S Smith coming back in LB. Barry Ferguson - 1 good game then 6 bad games but a continual big mouth and he seems to be blameless. Yet when he isnt in the team nobody can stand up and take the mantle away from him. Id seriously consider selling him in the summer and I wouldnt mind if we went and got Scott Brown from Celtic as his replacement. Lee McCulloch - I was delighted we signed him last year and he started off well. But he is another who looks like he doesnt train. He has looked unfit since February. Management - Why has certain players not been used more when they would all have been fresh and fit? The club play them big wages and none of them have barely kicked a ball. I think Gow on the left, Buffel in the gap and Boyd upfront more often would have seen us score much more goals. Board - Giving Alan Hutton 1 million pounds to leave the club was disgusting when he wanted to stay until the summer. He was our best player and best attacking option. Mistake here!!
-
For me its simple - the players have ran out of steam and are playing on empty due to the amount of games. The only mistake Walter has made IMO is not to use players like Gow, Buffel, Furman, Webster etc when its plain obvious the team needed a spark of refresness. Tactically Im not sure what PLG, McLeish and Smith see in playing Barry Ferguson as the furthest forward midfield. He must be doing something in training that he isnt doing on the pitch.
-
The guy at Burnley - cant remember his name. McCartney from West Ham was linked. Id like to see us get McFadden aswell.
-
No probs. Anyone who wants to do the Aberdeen game just feel free, its the last game of the season and a potential title decider. I'l also be out of town though, im off to Hong Kong for that weekend.
-
I dont rate Broadfoot either and hope Whittaker moves to be long term RB or bring someone else in. But it looks like Walter fancies Whittaker as a vertisile midfielder - similar to what Ricksen was under previous managers - and i was against this also as I prefer more attacking midfielders. However these games will still give the likes of Broadfoot that experience that he couldnt have dreamed of getting at St Mirren.
-
Good point, thats half a domestic season. It can only be good for our more average type players like Broadfoot, and will bring them on a good bit and make them better players in general, placing them above the average band.
-
Yip agreed Wija, although the players are going to have to really dig something special out the bag both mentally and physically.
-
Just seen this on the news and Im shocked. I thought he was winning his battle. Sad news and only 51 years old. I very likeable man aswell who did well for Scotland and Celtic. RIP.
-
Thats disgusting behaviour from those who were fighting. They certainly arent part of the Rangers family. I feel terrible for any innocent man, women or child who was effected by such behaviour. Unfortuantly every club has a bad element amoungst the support.
