One Thomas Buffel!!!! There's only one Thomas Buffel........ :drink: :drink:
-
Maybe Buffel would aswell. He wasnt asked to play in Siberia though, only cold windy and rainy nights in Scotland which are pretty cold!!!

There is a first for everything

Outstanding point Pete! I think that closes the argument about him being a money shark and not wanting to get back into first team football. For me, Buffel giving all in reserve midweek games showed that he was wanted back in the first team. Id like to know what he is earning now compared to 17k.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_div_1/7487357.stm I cant see why the SFL even bothered trying to get another team to replace Gretna, they should be looking to reduce the amount of clubs. Cant see Annan getting big crowds if they are a small town near dumfries. I agree with the pyramid system that others teams could come into the SFL

Overmars would have been left or very close to leaving when Gio signed for Arsenal.

Pete, how much Sherry have you drank tonight sailor??

I think having both players available next season is a boost. I wouldnt put them in as first picks as Weir will tire again and Dailly is a defensive player where Thomson and Ferguson will be ahead of him in midfield. But I like Dailly at times and he can pop up with the odd goal so Im glad he stays on. Both will be very valuable squad players.

De Boer was a truly class player but he was the man playing in a free role behind the strikers and Ferguson was much more deep. It makes me think how good Buffel and Ferguson would have been together if they got a run in the same team when they were both fit. The only way I can see Ferguson playing well with the current squad including Davis would be to have a 4-3-3 like this: _________Ferguson_______Davis_________Thomson_________ ____Miller/Novo______Velicka/Cousin______Beasley/Lafferty____

Cant see Cousin going to the Championship. He is another talent but not much clubs coming in for him probably due to the attitude. Maloney would be a good signing but he is more of a left sided player is he not? We have them in abundance for a change, although Id take Maloney over Adam anyday.

Is that your own piece Pete? Its spot on and shows how up and down it has been for him and the club. Giving him the captaincy back so soon was a huge mistake IMO, he needed to earn it first but was handed it too soon. I agree we were playing superb stuff under PLG when he was injured but IIRC the same thing happened during McLeish's reign when he was injured. But there is no doubt that pre injury he was a better player. He had De Boer to compliement him plus the likes of Albertz before that. I dont think he thinks he is Mr Rangers and bigger than the club but I do think he carrys far too much responsibility and I dont like his attitude on the pitch towards other players when he blames them for everything, even his own mistakes. On occasion he should have easily put an arm round a player rather than mouth off to him. This thing about playing with an injury carrys no weight IMO. As ive said before, this coming season is huge for Ferguson. If he is anything like last year he has to be dropped and give someone else a chance, he cant be played on reputation and on the hope he will come good every week. In saying that if we get him firing on all cylinders then its all good for the team. But I still dont know where to play him. Id rather see him play a deeper role than a more forward one anyway.

Sign 18 million Jo http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7442429.stm They were after him before Hughes took over, so tis more of a boardroom signing. He has a pretty impressive scoring record and if Man City need one thing from last season its goals! They are also in talks with Ronaldinho, that would be a great signing but i cant see him going to a club who arent in the CL

Yeah that was the treble winning season along with the EC season. By far the best!!
-
I cant remember much about that. The first title i proper remember was when it went to the last day and we needed to beat Aberdeen at Ibrox and Hateley popped up with 2 goals. I was in England at the time so didnt see much of the season. First real season I remember winning and seeing most of it was 91-92 then the treble side of 92-93
-
Twente and Steve McLaren would do nicely!!! Rapid Wien would be another id take but not A Madrid, Dynamo Kiev or Galatasary
-
I bet the first few years there was quite dire! What was the best season from 89-93 for you?
-
I dont like to mean any wrong in this, but Liverpool seem to have just attracted big troubled occassions in the past. Hopefully this one goes smoothly and I actually think it will with both sets of supporters making it a good atmosphere. There version of YWNWA will obviously get booed by a large portion of our support
-
Lol, holiday!!! A 2 week break for a game for you 2 islanders
-
The violence would be one issue with the FA's, but its sad that the rugby sides can play each other every year without fail and not 1 arrest is ever made. Scotland, NI, Wales and Celtic are all up for it so this 4 team comp should start then England may be tempted
-
The full season will be for consistancy. Belgiums 4th club wouldnt be a diddy club, id say they wouldnt be any worse than Scotlands 4th club. A diddy club would be Brechin or a Serie C team.
-
So if there is a thread for every Boyd goal next season we should have maybe 20 threads if he plays. But there will be a thread for every fluff and fresh air shot he has which means about 341 threads. IF he goes to Cardiff I expect him to fizzle out in the same way as J and J expect Buffel to fizzle out. I personally expect to see Buffel wearing a Belgium shirt again soon.
-
I think his problem is he may find it hard to get back up there and find his place
