  1. PS Ive moved this into Rangers Chat seen as its about Rangers
  2. I think we need to stop gambling with promising but unproved SPL players and start signing genuine quality. People go on about playing scottish players but we have enough already. There is also the thing about not getting geniune quality for cheap prices but then players like Cuellar, Benni McCarthy, Cousin (to an extent), Jimmy Bullard etc etc have all went for cheap transfer fees.
  3. Riise would be a great signing but really cant see that. There will be plenty of Premier League clubs after him and willing to give him 30-40k a week. Agree with Mike on McGregor. He would be a huge loss. He is the most improved player in the squad. I for 1 didnt want him as our first choice keeper over a year ago but I was happy to eat humble pie this year. Alexander is a good back up at best but not what we need as our keeper. Would anyone take 9 million for McGregor if we could replace him with Craig Gordon for 7 million?? I know the chances of that happening are ultra slim as Murray would never give the funds directly back. But its an interesting question. Personally I prefer McGregor on this seasons form to Gordon.
  4. Hopefully Wolves get Lafferty. If we spent a few million (4 reported) on him plus the 1.6-1.9 reported on Miller then that is a total waste of money.
  5. I dont agree he should go to a proper psych hospital. He is a nervous wreck and the sight of a normal hospital can cause panic attacks and depression which means he will end up worse and check himself out. A lot of normal people dont like dentists and the sight of them makes them cringe. He should be in nice surroundings but made to stay for a lengthy time.
  6. Totally agree, Charlie Adam should be about 4th choice for the LM position and i wouldnt consider him for a central role at all.
  7. I dont think we over play celtic, I still get excited for any OF game. We went 6 months without playing them last season. Anyway, a Glasgow tournament doesnt have to involve a OF game, it could just invite a few teams up for the weekend with Rangers playing Liverpool while Celtic play Barca then vice versa.
  8. Im hoping Whittaker gets a run at RB but cant see it. I think he will be in WS plans as a midfielder next season and cover for full back.
  9. Nobody seems to be helping the guy. He needs kept in a rehab place in the middle of nowhere to dry and straighten him out, then someone somewhere in football needs to give him a role whether it be TV, radio, scouting coaching. His sister pleaded yesterday for people not to buy him drinks when they meet him. Its a shame but he seems to be getting worse. Im pleading he gets better, he has so much to offer the game in some role.
  10. 2nd worst kept secret in football. What is it with teams sacking managers who do well these days?? Mancini was sacked but didnt he also say he would leave at the end of the season? Bizarre. I can see Lampard and Drogba being on there way to San Siro
  11. It looks like Spartans but thats a joke aswell. This is a great opportunity to reduce the number of clubs in Scotland but the SFA will take in another. Clubs in the lower leagues cant get more that 400 fans a game, its time for teams to merge. Spartans should be looking to merge with the biggest club nearest to them.
  12. Only interested party pull out!! Bye bye! What a mess! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/7430745.stm
  13. Isnt that a depressing read!!! Jonathon Greening isnt quality that we are looking for. We can add the 1 million for Sebo to the list so we're pretty much break even for the season. I bet Murray is rubbing his hands at the thought of Spurs coming in with 7 million for McGregor! 1.9 million for Miller is disappointing - id pay 1 million max! And to spend the 3 million from Cousin on Davis isnt like a new player. At this rate we are doing to be screaming out for central midfielders again.
  14. It will depend if Hughes is in the running to suceed Sir Awex. Man City would be a good chance test Hughes as he would have a bigger budget and with no dis-respect to Blackburn they are only ever going to be a club who can get 7th whilst Man City have the resources to potentially get into the top 5. Hughes is a good manager but it is slightly confusing to let a quality/proven manager go and replace him with someone who is no more than promising and one for the future. Sven has the better CV.
  15. Aye, it looks like the security guys are taking them for themselves. Did you see the 2nd one being taking off, the guy points to her them him as if to say "Shes mine"
  16. I wonder why its a common trend for players to begin well then go down hill drastically - Hemdani, Davis, McCulloch to name a few.......... Do they just get into a comfort zone at Ibrox or something??
  17. Thats me in
  18. It just shows you corruption is involved in football at the highest level. Beckham was picked purely to attract numbers and not for a footballing reason. - Disgrace IMO. if there is 1 thing that gets you away from the problems and corruption of the world then its football.........
  19. I can understand you calling us mental if we were saying Lovenkrands would make a great centre half or he should replace WS as manager but just because we rate him as player doesnt make us mental. As i said in my last post a player doesnt have to do sliding tackles then punt a ball up the park to show commitment. When I used to play footbal I didnt like going into solid 50/50s myself at times but I was still offensively committed when I got the ball. And I didnt say a injured McGregor is better than Gordon, I just agreed that we missed him once he was injured. As for your wingers, not sure about McSheffrey, id rather McFadden. But Aaron Lennon would be awesome but id say way out of our reach. A club like Middlesboro or Blackburn could easy come in with a 35k-45k a week offer which we couldnt match.
  20. Agreed about McGregor, his injury cost us the first OF game at Parkhead IMO. I said (and think a few others did) that the way he was playing he would have probably got to the 2nd celtic goal. Also agree about Lovenkrands to an extent - Im a fan of his. He did play for the shirt but also went quiet sometimes but that wasnt due to not loving the shirt, it was more his style of play. He is a pretty player who likes attacking. The problem with some fans is if EVERY rangers player isnt 110% committed to every tackle and get stuck in with slidding tackles then they dont think they are committed enough to Rangers. But this is a problem with the Scottish game IMO - you can have all the desrie in the world but if you arent good enough techinically then you wont win much. The team needs a balance of tough players plus the Lovenkrands and Buffels who are technically talented.
  21. Are you talking about Darren Fletcher? I know we need a right sided player but Ive gone off him a bit, I dont think he is good enough for Man Utd at all. But he would be ok for us in the SPL.
  22. Yeah i suppose its out of hands, but there would be uproar if he accepted a bid. Nothing below 15 million would do IMO. As Alex Scott the non legend says above - we need McGregor to stay now.
  23. How can it possibly be a good long term decision?? And he played James in goal last night, what can he learn from that! Surely Rob Green should have been in.
  24. Ive been confident Carlos will stay. We should be giving him at least 25k a week to stay on and be the backbone of our team for at least the next 3 seasons He's 6ft 2 with curly hair, his teeth are fucked but we dont care.............
  25. We should have the ibrox tournament again - Rangers, Seville, Barca and Liverpool. Or a Glasgow tournament - Rangers, Celtic, Barca and Liverpool! Imagine the OF in a friendly in the summer!!
