Again, I dont think he is a bad signing at all but with the transfer budget so tight id rather we sorted out other areas of the team first. As far as I know we dont have a kid who can step into the RM slot. Lennon and Fleck are more central attacking players and Furman is a central midfielder. Solano is a class act and would do a great job for us and not shy out of anything. He would be a perfect solution and is that bit of quality that we need. He can also be creative. I saw West Ham about 20 games last season and was a stand out in about 12 games.

Germany will quality due to Austrias last minute penalty. That puts it in there hands or Poland would have been favourites to go thru with Croatia. Id rather see the Germans thru than Poland.

Its all about having a few players in the squad with that little bit of quality who can turn a game for us so we can win the title again. We have enough punt players in the team - now we need to mix it with a touch of quality. You could say Barry Ferguson has gave us all the loyality and more over the years but look how inconsistant he is now... Id rathe rhave a good blend of everything in the team rather than play players just because the give 110% for the shirt - as at the end of the day it may still be not good enough

I agree with others on another thread about dropping either Thomson or Ferguson. We dont need both of them. So its 1 from them then an attacking player like Lovenkrands or Davis with 2 wide men. But WS prefers the safety side of things and will go for more defensive players.

I think me and Pete will agree with you on that for starters, we have said this for maybe 2 seasons. The problem is his position - where do you play him. we all know if he turns it on he will run the show but we cant play him just in hope of him playing well. I agree his best position now is further back infront of the defence and he and Thomson should be fighting for this slot. Also, he is Mr No Blame, auto pick, captain.......Too much responsibility.

So if Boyd and Miller are playing upfront we will still struggle to accomodate a creative player. Ferguson and Thomson are probably auto picks so that means the following midfield and forwardline: Davis/Novo________Ferguson_________Thomson________Beasley ___________________Miller___________Boyd_________________ Im not conviced by that as a team but I like most of the names in midfield: Thomson - coming onto a game and does all the unpretty work Ferguson - Last chance saloon, auto pick but I dont know where to play him. On his day can still run the show but those days are fading. Davis - Looks a peach in the centre but a plum on the right. Novo - Perfect attitude and desire, lacks finishing touch Beasley - Lightweight but attack minded and will cause defenses problems especially at Ibrox.
