Its all well having these strikers, im actually not complaining about it. But we can have all these players yet we still dont have anyone in the squad (bar Buffel) who is capable of the bit of magic in central midfield. I dont see Ferguson and Thomson as the answer to setting up chance after chance. Davis is a possibility but he hasnt signed yet but he is also guff on the right.

All the comments about me Sebo and Buffel...Im now thinking Jon and Johnny are gagging for a 3-some with Boyd He's not going to play - Get over it :moon:

5 strikers (Velicka, Lafferty, Miller, Boyd, JCD) along with others who can play there - Novo, McCulloch, Naismith (when fit) and Cousin is still on the books, PLUS young Fleck. We have strikers coming out our ears. Why do i get the impression WS is going to play these out of position and as wide players because we cant get midfielders.

Smith was the better player at the time and Hutton was very inconsistant. But then Hutton took his game to not just 1 better level, but about 5 levels. Ive never seen such an improvement in one player as I saw in Hutton - ever.

Was thinking about that price during the game aswell...good luck with that, i bet the bookies are worrying a bit now

Maybe, but his style of play still makes it look like we are playing games with 10 men. I still cant see how anyone can compare McCoist to Boyd for 2 reasons. 1) McCoist was a class striker and pre leg break did a lot more then just be a poacher. 2) McCoist played in a system that was made for that type of striker. To be fair on Boyd he hasnt played with a Hateley type player to allow him to be a poacher.

I dont know who has slagged you off. I certainly have been Boyds biggest critic on here but ive never slagged you off. At the same time look at your last post Pot, kettle.....Black and all that......

But he has also played shite is as many games and is out of his depth in big matched. We also cant fit him into the system - and thats the main point regardless who rates him and who doesnt. As for Beasley, he chipped in with a few goals but was injured for most of the season. Im sure he will score a few goals if he stays fit and plays. He is the type of player we need in an attacking sense. Much better that a Whittaker type player IMO

Id say thats all we will get for him. I dont rate him as much but even if you rate him as a 5 million pound player nobody will pay that for an SPL player. Im also thinking of the style of play, he Boyd may get 20 odd goals against Falkirk and Co (which does help our season) but with him in the team our play is so flat and we dont have the players to allow him to be a poacher. I think Miller and Velicka are capable of 15+ goals this season each plus they will bring more to the team. What we need is a goalscoring midfielder. Beasley may chip in with a few.

Great news and he deserves the improved deal and Id also give him the captaincy. There would be no shame in taking it away from Ferguson seen as he got it handed to him within weeks of returning from Blackburn at someone elses expense. You have to think Carlos will want to play in La Liga or the Premier League one day so if he gives us 1 or 2 more top seasons then im sure he will go with everyones blessing. If he stays longer then brilliant.

He can go for me. Especially if someone is willing to come up with 2.5 - 3 million then we should bite there hand off. He is never going to be WS first pick - thats obvious and he cant fit into any of WS systems. He is probably about 7th choice at the moment when you include Cousin and Darcheville who are still with us for now.

Possibly, but I was more thinking of cover and getting S Smith back in at LB. Papac has done well but Smith pre injury was a player.

No lying down from the Dutch, i didnt think they would want to lose any game, but I think this is there year. Italy are jammy. Its amazing how close things can be from being different, if Mutu had stuck that penalty away against them then they were out - now they are through to play Spain which could be a good game!! France were pish and Scotland should have been there instead of them

Thats the only poor scheduling IMO, they are nuts not to tyr and get both OF clubs into the CL proper. The fact we have 3 away games in the first 4 means nothing as they will be balanced out over the season (hopefully! Some poor bastarding team will have 17 home games and 19 away due to that split)

Yeah I would like to see Beasley involved aswell. The problem with the above teams is natural width. Neither Miller or Davis play on the touchline, nor doesn Thomson or Lafferty.

I didnt think Papac was too bad going forward, he just seemed to restrict himself with going into the final 3rd. but to start breaks he was good. Pity he couldnt play RB then we could get S Smith back in at LB.

Whilst we want more regulars on here and would welcome them, we dont want to go down the road of hatred and immaturity to create a bad vibe around here. We always want debate and diasgreement causes debate but when people cant be human about things then this isnt the place for them. If the multiple fracture comment was tongue in cheek then we could live with that but when thats a serious wish against a Rangers player then that person has social issues.

Plus Strachan was after him. But it looks like he wasnt even looked at down south. I hope he has some magic up his sleeve! Im shocked we have spent that money on someone who only promises something...id have rather it spent on someone proven. But time will tell.
