Lets have another Boyd thread. But instead of a poll, i want your gersnet name and why you rate him or not. He really is a player that has split the fans down the middle. On one half you have those who think he is an absolute shocker of player and couldnt trap a bag of cement plus he enjoys a kebeb but then you have the half who think he should be first on the team sheet because he scores goals. His goal scoring record is impressive - actually its very impressive! 70 goals in 105 games is ridiculous! Yet he still has so many people against that record due to his performances. He probably has a record of 70 fluffs in the same amount of games hence the anti Boyd crowd. As a poacher then we could afford him in the team - but bottom line is when he plays he wrecks the team upfront and cant do the basics of football. So from Gribz - its a straight "I dont/wouldnt play Boyd" (Cant wait to see Jon and Johnnys posts)

Lets seperate the Boyd and Buffel thing for starters mate, i agree we havent always seen the best of Buffel. But when he has shown it (against Porto and Celtic in 2005/06) he was a better class. But lets forget him. I'll give you Boyd has scored goals, i rate him as a poacher, but we just cant play him in the system we play - WS sees that aswell as a lot of Gers fans. And im not the only one who says he is a rotten player so Im not coming from mad territory. Fact is - its a team game first and foremost!

No I dont rate him as a player mate (as a poacher yes). if he was good then we'd see Premier League teams queing up for him, but not even the likes of Bolton are interested. But at least if he went to the premier league he would have a better chance as the football is better. The Championship is a tough league where he wouldnt be a poacher much.

Yesterday I said id never seen such an improvement in a player as Hutton - I still havent. But McGregor has came on leaps and bounds aswell and if he had another season like last then we would be looking at 10 million for him. Id like Carlos to stay more than McGregor but not by that much.
