Personally id like to see them both stay and get action for us next season along with Fleck. Lennon could possibly go out on a 3 or 6 month loan but Furman could come in handy for our midfield (or lack of it). If Fleck is good enough then he is old enough.

Jon you might aswell just send Craig the cash now! Craig, shame on you - thats like taking candy from a baby!!! :admin: Hleb was just coming good, but he is another who will realise leaving Arsenal is a mistake - Henry is regretting it to himself i bet!! But Nasri is a straight replacement for Hleb and Rosicky is coming back. Silva can take over from Flamini and IMO is a better player! The experience he has is vital, so Silva next to Fabregas to start with. Walcott can now make the grade up and we will see more from him the same as the CL game at Anfield where he made that goal.

Im sure Zidane was 47 million and still stands at the world record today. Imagine if Maradona was playing today!!! I wouldnt like to put a figure on that! I think Ronaldo will stay at Man U for another season and will make a statement about all the speculation being bullshit just to side with the fans again.
-
If he wants 120k Arsenal should just say bye bye. Milan wont pay nothing near that either. And I disagree Jon, if Liverpool sign Downing it will do nothing for them - just yet another good player but not good enough to put Liverpool near the top 3. I hope Wenger pulls something out of the hat again. he was 2 players away from winning the league last season.
-
You missed out Casaraghi, De Livio (nippy little winger) and Ravanelli - they were in good squads aswell.
-
Hopefully its a minor thing, it would be a shame for a great career to end on that note.
-
I dont think Dudek was a disater at all. He was a good keeper and treated a bit unfairly IMO. He played a huge part in the CL final in 2005 with those penalty saves.
-
Thats always been Germanys strong point - they can stop teams playing i.e. Portugal.
-
How typical Rangers would that be!!! Thats the risk with these deals.
-
I think Spurs was the one he would have went to aswell, im glad they signed Gomes. Newcastle still have Given and Harper so if any deal was to come from Newcastle we could get one of them in exchange. I dont think Man City will do aswell as they did as the start of last season, Hughes will just make them hard to beat for starters. But i cant see AM going there. So if we get AM in between the sticks and he gives us the same as last season il be delighted - he was superb last season!
-
If he wont be a starter then 3million+ is quite a fee!! That should have been put into a certain first team starter
-
I dont think it was the system that put him off the rails, he has done well for Scotland and Wigan in a similar role. I was happy with him signing and he got off to a flyer but for me he has just looked unfit for a while. I still think he could be an asset for us so wouldnt like him to leave just yet, he is just another who we dont know his best position. He is ok on the left but he doesnt have pace to beat a man like Beasley. He suits the target man position but then we have to resort to long balls which i dont want to see.

Im looking forward to the final. I havent sat down and watched 1 full match yet but Il be getting up to watch this final. 2 big teams!! Spain have the chance to finally answer there critics of being underachievers. And many thought it would be there year this time. But you cant rule out Germany - they can stop any team playing there game. Tough one to call but id like to see the Spanish win for a change, however I dont mind Germany so I may have a flutter on them.

The Italians can be one of the biggest disappointments yet on there day they can be the best. I think they missed a leader like Totti in this tournament but they just dont have that world beater like the did in the past like Roberto Baggio. In fact in the 90s they would have 5 or 6 world class players like Vialli etc.
-
They have been a laughing stock for 2 years now and its a shame. If there was 1 club who was capable of making the SPL a 3 horse race then its Hearts. They challenged in 1998 and have done so a couple of times in the last 5 years. If Burley had stayed in charge of them a few seasons ago I think they could have possibly won the league (We were poor that year)!! I dont know what enters these guys heads other than dictation.

I agree with your post Craig, except the top line here. Sticking with the old guard maybe the faithful thing to do but it proved to be the wrong one. Managers shouldnt really have sentiment in mind and hope that those players come good. The 9IAR team were very close to 10IAR but sticking with a few too many of the old guard plus background interference cost us then. Last season it cost us the league. I dont care about the UEFA so much - getting to the final was brilliant but to lose a 9 point lead in the league is tragic. So as you say, off form players HAVE to be dropped next season regradless if it is Ferguson, Cuellar (unlikely), Miller or Fleck. If they are in the team ant not doing it they need a seat on the sidelines - which can sometimes do good!

I wish we would go Adidas like the Chelsea strips, they have been well tidy in the last few years. The Umbro stuff is tight and elasticy, its the same as my West Ham kits. As for finding a Rangers top abroad, Ive never seen one in Singapore or Malaysia, plus im in Hong Kong at the moment and havent seen 1.

Great - another Boyd debate! There maybe 87 of them here but they are still good debating But im glad Cammy has joined the debate. I was beginning to question my judgement for a while but seeing his posts make me realise Im right (IMO). Boyd putting 25 goals away is just not enough for us to win the league. We need much more but not just from him and others. We may get 25 goals from him but Celtic may get 17 from McDonald and 15 from JVH. If Boyd could control the ball, beat a man, keep possesion, had pace, jump and win a ball, bring others into play AND score goals Id be raving about him and better Premier league clubs down south would be in for him - not Hull and Cardiff. I agree its not all his fault. Burke is a player who has never matched his potential so id punt him. Charlie Adam shows glimpes of skill but reminds me of the big kid in the playground who can turn it on against the 1st years but out of his depth against the 6th years. Lee McCulloch was 1 player I was happy about signing yet he has looked unfit since January. Darcheville I like, but 60 mins a week is no use! Sebo would have gave more IMO.
-
I think what we need to win the league is a better standard of "Starting" players who can go straight into the XI. We have had too much squad players who dont make much more of an impact from those who are already there. We also need to get consistancy about the formation and get it working. We need to stop reshuffling players around and playing them out of position. Im happy with signing Miller and Velicka. I think they will score goals for us aswell as do more in the final 3rd as a team. My Gordon Durie is out on Lafferty as I havent seen him. But we seem to have a few more attacking players in plus Beasley back. If we can get 1 more midfielder plus a creative player I think we are on the way.

Great debate lads, wish I was up to join in, but Cammy has basically said everything I would have anyway. Jon, you need to get over this anti-Boyd thing. Its not Anti Boyd. Anti Boyd would be saying personal stuff towards him. And i dont buy the thing about him improving his game either. So he got 3 or 4 flicks on's - Come on mate a 10 year old in a play ground can flick a ball on so a professional should easy be able to do it. Does it not say something that Boyd has ONLY just began this!! He constantly looks unfit. At the start of last season he did lose some weight and looked 23 but it lasted a few weeks and now he looks older again due to gaining weight.
-
Obviously a total dig and directing the fickelness towards me here. But if your crystal ball already told you Gow wouldnt be any better than Adam why didnt you just say so - that way we wouldnt need to give our wrong opinions on here. How can you say Gow hasnt looked any better than Adam when you havent seen him in a Rangers shirt bar 2 games (if you watched them)? Neil McCann came from another SPL club which gave him the "promising" tag - yet look how good he went onto be!! Adam hasnt went near that level and we cant comment on Gow. All we have said is he deserves a chance. Please go pick out the quotes where ANY poster on here has BUMMED up Gow and said he is a world beater! I think you might struggle to find anything other than Gow deseves a chance.
-
How many goals have been scored in 10 Years?? They at least need to pick out the top 20 and let people vote - SPL dont know how to do anything :uzi: But how about Albertz' penatly at Parkhead in the shame game where Dallas got struck, the fan chucked himself off the top tier......
-
I always fancied Germany to win it but wouldnt bet on them at 4/1 when better footballing teams are around. But they just seem to always get there. Spain v Russia will be a good game and it would be nice to see the winners of this go on and win it
-
Well yeah that may be ok. Ive always said we cant play Boyd because of the system. If he is in a 4-4-2 where he can be a poacher and nothing else then thats when we can accomodate him.
-
Well top players tend to score in top games. Kenny Deuchar scored about 45 goals in the lower leagues per year but couldnt do it at top level!! Boyd bangs in goals against lower SPL teams and when he did ever feature in bigger games he is out of his depth at that level. Simple conclusion is he is fine for coming off the bench in SPL games and will get us goals but for Rangers first choice striker in important games we need a better player - this is also because we played 1 man upfront last season and he cant play that role.
