I thought it looks more of a lighter blue aswell

Austria are not near as good team as others in the euros regardless what formation. But the 3-5-2 has been cancelled out with the 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 formations.

The Shittu one looks like getting closer

Quite like that aswell. Looks much better than last seasons top

Pete you stalker!! No sign of Boyd on a bike??

Agree with Calscot that we should be looking for a long term partner for Cuellar although I wouldnt class it as most vital as we have a few who can play next to him as a stop gap for this season. Also agree Fleck HAS to play a bit more this season. If he is good enough then he is old enough. It actually annoys me sometimes when people question playing him due to age. It should be irrelevant. How is the player ever going to get experience by playing the last 5 mins against Clyde in the league cup. Lennon certainly looked promising a few seasons back and should maybe have more of a step up by now. A loan wouldnt be a bad thing for him. I dont actually rate Fletcher for Man Utd but he would be a fine signing on the right for us. But id prefer Maloney or McFadden over him as they have that bit of creative ability.

The worst thing about WS's 3-5-2 was he played so many players out of position. Craig Moore and Alex Cleland in midfield :admin: But if you get it right then it can work out. MON got it right at Celtic. Cuellar, Weir and 1 from Webster, Hemdani, Papac or Dailly would be a good start at the back. We'd then get away with 2 holding midfielders, 2 wide players plus sign a creative central player. Then we also get to play 2 upfront.

It wasnt fuckn museli anyway!!! I bet he is washing his breakfast down with a Whopper meal

Apart from being an old bassa

It would be great to have a live debate on national tv about Boyd with pro Boyd on one side then the non pro Boyd side on the other side. We'd need a strong referee for this: Vinnie Jones would do the trick
-
Great chance for us to try 3-5-2 then
-
Agreed Pete, its all about how good a level the player is. Kenny Deuchar scored shit loads in the lower leagues but couldnt but it as he moved up. When he was in the 3rd and 2nd divisions you didnt see anyone in the SPL come in for him.

This Nasri is good, probably better than Hleb so if they get good fee for him and Rosicky back they will be flying again.
-
Ince obviously thinks he can do a job for them. Will be interested to see him, hopefully he does well. Come on the Cardiff, stump up 3.5 million for Boyd and make Jons weekend

Depends who we sign Pete. Im with you about Ferguson, but right now im thinking Dailly, Hemdani and Thomson are all to defensive and I dont know enough about Furman. I dont class Ferguson in the attack mode either TBH. But with BF's faults he still takes the mantle at times. My fear isnt also with the loss of Ferguson, I'll be interested to see how we play, but my fear is the total lack in depth now. I was wondering what would happen if someone picked up an injury during the season, now BF is out it could be a blessing to force the hand and sign someone. With hindsight now, having Buffel, Hemdani and Thomson would have worked a treat with 2 wide players.

Hearts are a mess, They are looking at Uganda'a Hungarian coach to take over. How did they manage to think that one up!! It wouldnt surprise me one bit if they are fighting relegation this season.
-
What your reasons be Craig? Obviously attitude has to be one. But Cousin on his day is a quality striker and can play upfront on his own. If he gets a kick up the ass then he'd be in my team ahead of all the strikers at Ibrox.

I kinda agree with the PLG comment about hard tackles in training especially at this time of year when everyone is rusty. That goes for all teams IMO. But for S Smith it is yet another set back and you do have to wonder if he will not only get a run in the team again but get back to a high standard. Papac did well last season so I have no worries about him playing there. Whittaker also looked more comfortable at LB so thats the alternative but then we need to find a RB.

The other thing is who will stand in as captain - Surely King Carlos!!! I think the one thing that we will miss with Ferguson is a pressence. So it is a good chance for Thomson to step up. It could also mean we see the 06/07 version of Hemdani again which would be good. If those 2 could form a partnership and we can get 2 attacking wide players then things would look good. As much as I though BF should have been dropped last season I was hoping he would be 100% this season and now that he is actually out for a while I kinda fear a bit.

I actually think Ferguson plays a better role for Scotland as he plays a more central midfielder with more adapable players around him. He doesnt play too far forward or too deep. Most Scotland games are one-off and its probably easier to raise your game in bigger occasions. But we did play quite good football the last 2 times Ferguson has been out, but now that its been picked up we will probably suffer. But at least he wont be pushing forward like last season as he wasnt good in that role. But he have to sign a player or 2 now.

If he had gotten over his last injury then its a blow. I was hoping for a fully fit Ferguson this season. But it will be interesting to see what happens. 4 months is huge and we will have to go out and sign somebody now. We were wondering what would happen if Thomson or Ferguson got injured and now we have a chance to buy someone. Hemdani or Dailly are capable of stepping in for a defensive role next to Thomson and Furman may get a chance. If we have Davis aswell then things will look a bit better but we have to go out and sign someone now.

FIne for me today

I think WS would sell Boyd in a flash but Ally would keep him. I can still see an offer being accepted for him and if we can get 3 million then thats good. We dont need to be on the look out for strikers at the moment unless Boyd, JCD and Cousin all depart. The Cousin situation has been quiet for a while now. His attitude still stinks but if he is a still a Gers player come the end of the transfer window then I wouldnt be upset as long as he sorts that attitude out.

Thats a good signing for them, he can score goals in that league for fun. Id have liked him at Gers a few years ago

Hleb was just coming good as a player last season. His first season you could see what Wenger was trying to do with him but he was adjusting to the game, now he has done that (thanks to Wenger) he wants away. I think Arsenal at full strength with Rosicky and Hleb in the team would have won the league last season. But they have bought the French boy in (nasri??) and replaced him already. If they get 30 million for Adebyeor thats superb - just go and bring Henry back for less than half that!!
