Albertz is younger than Weir and played pretty much a high level in the last few years - he could EASY have done a job for us as a squad player.

Anyone seen the Scream films?? His face is the double of the mask used by the killer in that!! Seen as there is a thread about him we may as well discuss him. I was wanting McCulloch for a while before he signed and when we got him i thought it was a great signing. He started off pretty well but since the turn of this year he has looked a different player for the worse. He looks unfit and slow. During this summer he was one who has said he will step into BF shoes, well thus far in pre season and in the Kaunas 1st leg he has looked even worse. The big man needs to get his finger out and he could be an important player again.

Give me Laudrup and Albertz as they are now ahead of Adam and McCulloch!!!

Im just frustrated with the lack of midfield signings. But I do agree that the transfer window is open until Aug 31 so nothing has been concluded. However we have known for a long time that we NEED an attacking midfielder seen as Buffel wasnt in the plans, then Ferguson gets injured and there is still no mention of a player bar Davis which has even went quiet this week. We had a chance of Varynen for a decent price along with Lovenkrands and Davis. If we got those 3 Id be very confident that we would be going into tonights match with a bit of a lead. Everyone knows I rated Buffel but I still find it baffling we would let him go rather than pay the fee to Feyenoord - this fee was a 10th of what Fulham want for Davis - that puts it into perspective

Yip agree with that. When players disrespect the officials with foul mouth language then straight reds should be given. I suppose the refs are only doing what they are told/taught but the start/stopping of games and always given decisions the wrong way is at a poor level
-
Erm...im all for given them a pay rise if they earned it, but last season was the worst ive ever seen from SPL refs.
-
Give me Maloney over Adam anyday. Thats probably who he would replace. I dont buy this Adam is our dead ball specialist.
-
Maybe 2 big strikers plus Novo to run onto the flick ons maybe the best way to go. We know Nacho has the nack of nicking important goals

I go jogging almost every day but I still eat chocolate most days, have fast food once or twice a week and the odd weekend booze up - as Im not in a job that requires me to be an athelete

The Brown family in the top left corner

Ive got a club tie from years and years ago still in its plastic wrapping. I was given it when I was about 9 from a family friend from Glasgow who has lived in Canada for 35 years, so it could actually be from any decade. Ive never wore it. Next time im home il look it out and try find out when its from.

I see you havent been signing any strikers in the transfer window Fraser!!!
-
I cant believe we would look at another left sided player before a right sided player
-
But qualifying for the CL is well over by the end of the transfer window and what if its too late??? Id say its more naive of WS to fix or not even address the midfield problem last out of the 3 outfield positions, while Ferguson was injured and after the CL qualifier.

LMAO The QE2 could turn faster than what I saw Boyd attempt on Saturday.

The comments about McCulloch and Darcheville were actually quite amuzing. I agree with him on Hemdani, he is always assured on the ball and should be a starter IMO. Agreed on Adam 100%, he is attrotious (sp). Disagree on Broadfoot, he should be a back up defender. And disagree on Boyd. I cringed near the end of the game when Boyd had a half chance in the box, his turn was embarrassingly slow and his arms were flapping. He is about a mobile as a hippo.

I would really like to see the club record a new sound track of the songs they play over the tannoy before the game and at half time. The CD they have is done by the worst high pitched singers and almost gives you a head ache more than anything else. Its not catchy one bit.
-
Good stuff Fraser. I noticed LIverpool had a decent crown up and I think thats always good to see at Ibrox. Pity none of the other SPL clubs could take a similar crowd, it would help get the atmosphere up.

I think all fans know its only pre season and nothing gets decided here. But the frustration is coming from the fact Ferguson got injured yet no midfielders have been brought in despite the need for 1 or 2 before Ferguson got injured. Add the addition of the strikers and then the concentration of buying a defender the fans are scratching our heads about how we are going to line up next season.

I was watching this game, it was 1-0 for ages, didnt know Hamburg scored 2 more.
-
Both would be welcome signings IMO. Fletcher solves the RM problem and Maloney can play anywhere across the midfield including the creative link between midfield and forward. I heard Everton to bid 3 million for Fletcher. If we can pay 3.5 for Lafferty we surely could raise 3 million for Fletcher. Hopefully Sir Awex sends him up seen as he is good pals with WS. He is a very decent player but a bit out of his depth at Man Utd. He does well for Scotland but would be a great addition to our squad.

Chelsea pumped a team 7-0 the other day. I think Chinese team.

I think we share the concerns based on the lack of improvement over the summer but id say its a bit much of a knee jerk reaction to rid Smith at the moment. As ive said a few times he should be judged on this season. If he doesnt deliver the title this season then its time to move on. Im a huge fan of Super Ally but I wonder how much WS is missing an experienced No.2 as his assissant.

Yip spot on with your reply Cammy and I picked this bit out. We should have a set up of people selling the club worldwide. Rangers have a huge support all over yet seeing the Rangers brand anywhere other than in Scotland is almost non exsistant. The scouting set up is another poorly ran aspect, and something I should maybe have mentioned in my first post. I was listening to a Steve McLaren interview this morning, he was asked if he was going to raid England for players. But his reply was no because FC Twente cant compete with the Premier League stars (same as Rangers) so Twente and his network are set up in Holland, Belgium, Germany and Scandanavia to locate players. If only we could wake up and do the same.

We should still aim to finish in the top 3 of our group which puts us in at least the UEFA again.
