  1. That would make kinda sense, its not going to be the Celtic end when we play Hibs :fish: Anyway....how did you manage to end up in there Pete?
  2. So much for Portsmouth saying they will take there time. Its a gamble as he hasnt managed in the top flight. I hope he does ok as he was a tremendous player, but long term I can see Portsmouth slipping away. I think most of there players went there coz of Redknapp and they will be a bit shell shocked. It will take a bit character to make them forget about that and they possibly should have went for a proven name.....Ramos!! Rumours going around already that Defoe and Campbell will return to Spurs. I cant see Campbell going after the abuse he received but stranger things have happened.
  3. He has been touch and go for a long time now. Unfortuantly I fear the worst for the lad as he just cant seem to shake off the problems.
  4. I dont think your being disrespectful. As i said in my first post in the thread its all about HOW you show your respect whether it be silence or applause. Im sure the family wouldnt hold this against anyone.
  5. Not really. After the silence there is a cheer and roar also.
  6. I actually prefer an applause at times, i see it as people are applauding what that person has done in the game. I dont see it being disrespectful at all. Its not really what happens during that minute - be it applause or silence its the thoughts and the time taken out that is important. Therefore if half the crowd clapped while the other half stayed in silence i dont think there is anything wrong with that.

    Edu Ready

There is no need to even ask Jon...he will never be first pick for me...although i would consider him in this type of game if he wasnt getting so much games in the SPL just now...but tonight is a chance to try a different partnership out...we should have enough for Hamilton at home. Saturday's first half was shocking but i expect tonight to be different. Id also give Ferguson the last half hour.

    Edu Ready

I think getting him into the centre midfield could freshing things up and he could have a bit of bite we need. Im still curious to what kind of player he is but if he is fast and physical then that helps the likes of Mendes going forward. Id play Edu and Davis in the centre against Hamilton and put Novo and Aaron out wide with Lafferty and Miller upfront. Id rest Mendes.
  9. Agree with Ascender, id have kept Alexander for a few more games to give McGregor a bit more hunger. He looks far too laid back at the moment. As for Weir, he has done really well for us but its a concern that we are still relying on him when we should have someone else lined up more long term. Is McCulloch the answer? - erm i dont think so but stranger things have happened in football. Where is young Fraser? He rated Gavin Rae as a RB, i wonder what his opinions are of McCulloch at CB
  10. I dont think Hull's bubble will burst too much. They will start losing a few games though. But they got thumped 5-0 from Wigan and bounced back from that. I think they will be like an Ipswich who finished 5th one year then went down the next. Jon is right, Liverpool have beaten Chelsea and Man Utd which is hugely important. I hope Liverpools bubble bursts soon though as i dont like the thought of them winning the league. Its good we have a weekend round of fixtures in between 2 saturdays, its an important time in the calender when 3 games are played in 7 days. Hull are 5/1 to beat Chelsea btw
  11. Curbishley had him at right midfield but he was pretty much the same. Lucas 'bombscare' Neill has been playing centre half this season. I know Faubert had a long time out but he has been injury free all season and IMO he is the same problem as Darcheville - leg muscles too big for a football player.
  12. 2 things can be said from this weekends results. 1) Liverpool have to now be taken as title contendors as they have been picking up points even when playing poorly. I dont think they will win it but they wil be contendors. they are 8 points ahead of Man Utd. 2) Hull should also really be respected more now. They are not flukes. They have won at Arsenal and Spurs in recent weeks. I thought they would get a draw at best at West Bromm but they went there and destroyed them. A Job very well done from them.
  13. Done it at Pittodrie loads of times and done it at Tannadice aswell. Also done it a few times down south when going to West Ham games. Pittodrie has been scary on a few occasions outside the ground...when i was about 15 I used not even bother trying to get a Rangers end ticket. There was always a good number of Bears who sat in the Main stand - section F - which is in the far corner flag. We'd even go in wearing Gers colours. Being 15 you dont give a flying duck and the Gers scored quite a few and me and my mate used to go wild and give the sheep horrendous abuse. Luckily it was only the main stand and the worse we encountered was being spat on and tried to get tripped up inside the ground. Not too sure if id do it nowadays in the Richard Donald or South Stand, there are too many sheep who know me and know im a bear.
  14. Yip he has been terrible for West Ham this season, never completes any passes
  15. I had a 7 fold on and 2 teams let me down, they were the 2 i had doubts about aswell Charlton drew with Burnley Birmingham won Norwich won Leeds won Leicester drew Celtic won Dundee Utd won im fucked off i didnt split the coupon up but was in a hurry
  16. Not surprised by the sacking but i am surprised about Harry....after turning down the West Ham job i thought he wanted to build up Pompey, but now he fanices a new challenge. I hope Spurs go down tho
  17. Why does he wear No.01 on the back?
  18. Yeah 28 years since they beat Newcastle at home...you would have been in your 20s then eh jon!!
  19. Finishes 1-1 at Goodison. 2-1 Sunderland - Richardson just had an absolute screamer of a free kick. Makes up for his hard luck last week when his first free kick against fulham hit the post 3 times, then his 2nd went in but was ruled out for nothing.
  20. 2 early K/offs. Currently Everton 1-1 Man Utd Sunderland 1-1 Newcastle Later games West Brom v Hull and Blackburn v Middlesboro Could be in for 4 draws today

    No Barry

Sensible decision IMO and a tight rough away game like Hamilton wouldnt be the best place for him to return. He'd be better of in a home match where we control the pace and play so he can adjust into the game.
  22. Ok kinda got an idea in the long term here. Gersnet should maybe in the future buy a ST and it could be rotated / balloted between members who have "shares" in it. For eg if any of the expats on here are in town then it would be ideal for them to go to the game and meet up with Frankie and his crew at that end of the ground. It doesnt just have to be people living abroad, there are plenty here who would like to go to the odd game who cant and they would get there chance aswell. Id certainly be up for this. Thoughts???
  23. If Ferguson comes back in place of Thomson and doesnt perform then WS has to eat humble pie. Im not Thomsons biggest fan but i would agree with Beattie that i would like to see a proper 4-3-3. Ferguson is 30 now and Thomson is around 23, but Thomson isnt near the player Ferguson was at that age. BUt he may be the type of player who gets better with age. But being dropped for someone on reputation is harsh for any player. ID rather see Hemdani get sold first - he is a player i rate and like but he isnt going to feature so id get him off the books first
  24. I found the appointment bizarre in the first place considering the amount of money QPR have. Dowie is only a championship manager at best and QPR have huge ambitions. In normal days this would be a poor poor decision considering they are doing ok, but these money men dont really care and can change things around at any time. Ive always had a soft spot for QPR and wanted them to get back up to top flight football, but not so much since the takeover
  25. He's another pap who needs to keep his mouth shut at times. WS is spot on here....Man U just put 4 past West Brom last weekend and I didnt hear Ince say Men against Boys. And a few weeks ago Man U won at Blackburn 2-0, lets see if they can win by more than that at Parkhead. Im not one for defending Celtic, but I am up for defending Scottish teams and 2 of Man Utds goals were offside. There is no way his Blackburn side would beat either of the OF IMO.
