  1. Bold - yip 100% agree. Total shame, we shouldnt stand for this. I also cant ever see it coming back which is not right.
  2. Firstly I refer to this song as Hullo Hullo and not TBB. But can someone clarify the legal stance on this song for being banned for "Rangers fans" only??? What is it that is actually banned - ie. the tune, song or words?? And why do away fans get to chant the tune or change the words but are not even threatened with expulsion of competitions...and at the same time its a song that is perfectly allowed in other stadiums such as Old Trafford. For me, id love to see Hullo Hullo back with the real Rangers words. This tune was an icon of the Rangers support and certainly the best song for the atmosphere at Ibrox. I cant work out why this song gets singled out and banned yet others which are worse and not even rangers related only seem to get warnings at the worst - and thats not to even mention what our green friends on the east side come out with. Sounds like discrimination to me!!!
  3. Wee thread for the gersnet punters in here. Anyone having a flutter today?? I fancy draw treble: Sunderland v Liverpool Southampton v Birmingham Everton v Blackburn
  4. Im not saying 4-5-1 is negative at all but id rather see 2 strikers get a game. With 4-5-1 you take my team but drop probably Lafferty to allow Whittaker to go to RB. But its great to have these options again. Il be realistic and say we wont go 3-5-2 but we certainly have the players to try it now. Is Aaron called Aaron because nobody can spell his other names?? :fish:
  5. I dont want to see just 1 striker with the options we have but having 5 midfielders from your list would over run games. Whittaker dropping out wouldnt be a loss for me, id rather 1 of the new guys get a game in midfield than him. Papac can play in a back 3. So Bougherra Broadfoot and Papac wouldnt be a decent shout. __________________McGregor__________________ ______Broadfoot____Bougherra______Papac_______ __________Mendes_________Thomson____________ ___Novo___________Niguez________Beasley_______ ____________Velicka_______Lafferty______________
  6. Its great to have these selection headaches at last. Bringing in 2 or 3 faces totally changes the face of our options and IF WS decides to play at least 4 REAL midfielders then its exciting times ahead. Although, as Calscot says we cant get carried away with names on paper. I was hoping for Varynen, Davis and Lovenkrands a few days ago but I didnt forsee any of these players, but IM delighted with our purchases. If Edu and Bresciano join then we will be over loaded with midfielders!!! IF these new guys get off to a good start then Barry Ferguson is going to find it tough to get back in the side when fit. But I actually think he will thrive with other real midfielders. He will be fully fit and raring to go after a good break. Id love to see us try 3-5-2 with this squad.
  7. With this weeks signings our squad is getting very big in numbers. The Niguez and Mendes signings are very encouraging and boost our midfield options and could be added with Maurice Edu. There is still a lot of dead wood there which will be difficult to get rid of but if WS can work out our best XI and formation then play attacking football then the league title is looking very promising with this list: (Who says we dont have a midfield ) Keepers: McGregor Alexander Smith Defenders: Whittaker Papac Bougherra Weir Dailly Webster (on loan to Motherwell?) Broadfoot S Smith Midfielders: Ferguson Hemdani Thomson Mendes Niguez Furman McCulloch Beasley Adam Efrem Burke Lennon Gow Forwards: Lafferty Velicka Novo Cousin Darcheville Boyd Miller Naismith Fleck
  8. Its one you have to ask the manager. To be honest its baffling to me because I have no idea how Adam became a favourite. And its been obvious in the past WS prefers more older players - he is probably going for a safe option. But Im happy with this Mendes signing, he brings a great option to the team. I really hope WS throws him straight in this weekend with Niguez and drops those who are on very poor form.
  9. Keep snuggling up there with your hot water bottle and Juffery will let you know if he had a take away next week
  10. Thank fook it starts tomorrow - its easy the best league in the world for entertainment and great coverage of live games so Im looking forward to it. Got 5 live games on tomorrow including Arsenal, West Ham and Liverpool so Im looking forward to seeing these 3 in action. I had a read of Skys preview and as much as people are writing Arsenal of I can see them being right up there going for the title in the first few months. Its when they start to get injuries the question is whether they have the quality in depth - but people would be crazy to write Wenger off. Liverpool are being talked about as potential champions. They do this every season and I can see them slipping back to the usual 4th place although they may be a bit closer this season with Keane. Difficult to predict but: Chelsea Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool --------------- Aston Villa Spurs Portsmouth Everton Man City Newcastle West Ham Sunderland Blackburn Middlesboro Wigan Fulham Bolton West Brom Hull Stoke
  11. I really hope your right. But WS' selections and formations recently have given me ZERO confidence. He sticks with his favourties too much. Id bloody love to see this kid and Mendes play in the same midfield as Thomson and another. Im a huge fan of playing REAL midfielders so I hope so - but i can just see Adam and Co still featuring.
  12. Says on bbc that he wants to stay in Serie A unless its for a Premier league club.
  13. Webster has to be up there with Gow as the most baffling signings ever. At least when we sign the likes of Capucho they quickly move on, but Webster is still hanging around. Either he is fit or he is not, if not get rid of him.
  14. Well there isnt exactly too much of them left anyway!!! Hopefully we sell the junk or we are going to be left with a huge squad with a few who arent good enough to be there.
  15. Id be happy with Mendes but I still feel we need another as I cant see the new Spanish kid getting a game coz he is 19. But having these 2 in the team would make us look far stronger. But I still get the feeling WS will drop the wrong players and try to get Adam and McCulloch in the team somehow.
  16. Would love McFadden. But if we did get him and Bresciano along with this young spaniard then we could field a team of left sided players.
  17. I wish my drunken posts were as clear as the above. You lot are making me jealous, i think il go and get tanked tonight.
  18. Sounds like a good buy but at 19 he is likely to be playing his football at broadwood then going on loan to Dunfermline. But I hope not and he starts right away in the first team.
  19. Really??? :fish: Id like to see Novo and Velicka upfront aswell. But Novo is also my first pick for RM at the moment aswell unless we go to a central 3.
  20. No im glad they didnt put a collar on it, hate collars on football shirts. I will prob buy this when im over next month along with the Gers top - 2 shirts without collars.
  21. If he could take a wee bit of Darchevilles muscle then we could have a very good consistant player. I like Beasley but you know he wont play a long run of games due to getting injured. Agree with Fraser, id like to see Beasley and Lafferty down the wings with Novo and Velicka upfront. Hemdani and Thomson could sit in the centre and allow those 4 to play.
  22. Mate, after seeing the line up recently im very much hoping Furman gets his chance. Why WS persists with Whittaker, Adam and McCulloch ahead of a real central midfielder is beyond me. I also know Hemdani isnt even going to get a look in, so my team has no chance. However maybe if we started to listen to me and play the players i have rated in the past we wouldnt be going backwards so fast eh!!!!!!
  23. Adam can do what he likes. Burke can go when fit and if McCulloch doesnt get his act together then he can go. Broadfoot could be a decent back up CENTRAL defender but no more.
  24. 3 or all from Bresciano, Vayrnen, Davis, Lovenkrands. Then Loovens if we can afford him. Let Dailly, Cousin and Boyd go if we can get cash for them. I like Hemdani but if we got the above midfielders then we could sell him also.
  25. If he didnt sign 3 strikers without selling a few first we may have had our midfielders by now. The Loovens rumours are certainly up doing the rounds.
